3.5 Clear brown pour, big khaki head, beginnings of lace. Nose is malty. Middle is roasted malt, peppery hops, touch coco. Finish is malty but fairly dry.
3.4 500ml bottle from Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn and drunk on 27/08/2007. Really nice, very malt forward beer. I hadn’t tried many alts at this point, and they were discernibly different from most Germanic styles I was used to. Like a crisper version of a bitter.
4.4 Ladna miedziana barwa, klarowne, slodowe w aromacie. Fajna chmielowa goryczka. Zdecydowanie nie palone, wytrawne, zapalkowa nuta siarczana. Moj piewszy alt wiec ciezko mi porownac ale mi smakuje,
2.6 31/07/2019 - 50cl glass @Stadtkrone, Monschau. Clear dark brown, mediuim head. Nose is dark malts, caramel, bit spice. Taste is same but wattery
2.8 It was okey, malty beer with some hints of caramel, spices. Felt a bit too watery. Not great, not terrible. Off ballanced. Blank dry aftertaste
3.3 Frankenheim Alt 4.8%. Dark brown, dark caramel aroma, light bodied, dark caramel malt, toffee, spices. Pleasant dunkel from Düsseldorf 🇩🇪
3.0 Pours a copper-brown with off white head. Malty forward and unimpressive. Notes: bottle in Bernkastel-Kues, Mar ‘19
3.4 On tap@Bar, Düsseldorf 10/12/2018 Color ambarino corona de espuma blanca, sabor caramelo dulce, cuerpo medio.
3.4 From bottle, probably dark brown. Small head? Aroma is malt. Caramel, metal?. Taste is the same, sweet, bitter. Not bad
3.6 Aroma; malt, dark syrup, fruit, spice, caramel, malted candy, sweet dark tart. Look; tan big fluffy crocheted head, copper-brown body, clear. Taste; malt, dark syrup, fruit, nut, almond, spice, dark caramel, malted candy, sweet dark tart, and finishes malted, modest roasted malt notes too. Feel; average body and soft co2. Overall; made me like altbier even more. As a polotmavy with more fruitiness. [33cl.btl b@Systembolaget Ersboda. T@H7] 7573'14
3.6 Bottle at home. Pours clear copper with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, coffee, bread, nuts. Tastes slightly sweet with more than balancing bitterness. Medium bodied, bitter finish.
2.9 Bottle @ home. Clear dark amber w a large white head. Aroma medium malty (caramel), light fruity. Flavor light sweet, medium caramel. Medium body and carbonation.
3.5 Nice tasty and easy drinkable beer. Brownish color and a fine head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Fine carbonation level that made it easy to drink. Balanced sweetness. Bready, herbal, malty and a bit fruity flavor. [Bottle from Systembolaget in Sweden] Brewery #1903
3.0 Mörkbrun med tunt vitt skum. Doftar malt och kola, lite bränt. Smaken mellanfyllig, maltig, lite choklad och brända mandlar. Eftersmaken lång med med bred beska, något torrt avslut. lite svamp?
3.0 How: Bottle. Where: Batteriet, Rindö. Appearance: Brown colour with a tan head. Aroma: Malt, caramel, fruit. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Malt, nuts, caramel.
2.3 Flaska inköpt på SB. Brunsvart vätska med tunt skum. Doftar lite säd, damm och karamell. Bränd smak av mer säd. Torr och neutralt avklingande beska.
3.2 Bottle. Clear amber beer with a large white head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel, bread, herbs, chocolate and dried fruit. Flavor is malty with notes of caramel, bread, herbs, chocolate, coffee and dried fruit. Well balanced.
3.7 Bottle at home after a long hard day of intense physical labour. Clear brown with white head. Sweet malts, caramel, pecan, chestnuts, hazlenuts and in particular their brown skin, cocoa powder, leather belt, old wallpaper. Over medium sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Bit weird this one, it has this distinct Omnipollo Noa touch (that comes from a tiny Pecan aroma bottle), but it’s very easy drinkeable. Massive nut madness tho. Freak em with yer nuts! Nothing better than a buttery and nutty maltbomb after a hard days of manual labour. Slaving away in the workplace that is currently my home, only consolation in the world is a shaker full of dark brown malty nutbrew, and I’m loving it. DEEZ NUTS IS UNDERRATED! Chocolate salty balls. Milk them chestnuts. Crazy stuff right herre!! 🌰🌰🌰🤩 my favorite Alt so far. Caught by surprise. Quite dry too.
3.1 Bottled at some bar in Aachen, Germany. Amber to brown colored, small head. Malty, caramel, hint of smoke, toffee. Somewhat thin mouthfeel. Bitterness. OK.
3.8 Fles 50cl thuis. Traditionele alt. Malten maar ook bitters, kruidig, drop, minder zoet. (5-2012).
2.0 Awful
2.2 Very nice looking alt; reddish and foamy. Aroma is mineral, hay, and slight caramel. Taste is mineral, salty caramel, with hints of tar and licorice.
2.5 Flaska Systembolaget. Mörkt bärnstensfärgad. Doft av mörkt bröd, sirap, och lakrits. Likande i smak. Lakrits, järn och knäck. Blaskig
3.8 Bottle thanks to Kapusil. Pours darker ruby brown / bronze. Suds on top. Caramel malty aroma. Sweet bread, bran flakes, caramel, very little bitterness. Interesting how much variety there is in this style. While Uerige has a black tea bitterness to it, this one is totally malty and sweet. Nice and sessionable.
3.7 0.5l bottle. Copper body with a white head. Aroma of dark sugar syrup, toast, caramel and some dried fruits. Taste of caramel, sugar syrup and even some cocoa. Not so hoppy as the average alt,it's more like a dunkel, but it's quite nice.
3.4 Bottle from Systembolaget Sweden. Huge and lastning brown head over a clear Brown Beer. Initial chocolate aroma followed by a mild roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt taste with a firm bitterness that reinforce the malt bitterness. Medium body.
3.1 On tap at Reichenbach Hall in NYC. Dark copper, brown color. Small bubbly beige head. First sip has toasted malt and metallic notes. Slight astringent tendencies. Dry toasty finish. Average.
3.0 Bottle 330ml. Medium-brown, thin offwhite head. Malty aroma, rather powerful. A bit thin taste, almost watery. Some decent bitter notes in the aroma.
