Imperial Winter Ale with Coffee & Cinnamon aged in Bourbon Barrels
This year’s release of B-Bomb is aged in 8–12-year-old American Oak bourbon barrels and is a blend of 9, 12, and 24-month old barrel-aged Winter Ale. This special edition adds cold brew coffee and cinnamon bark to complement the bourbon, oak, cacao, leather, toffee, and dark coffee notes achieved from its extended barrel aging and barrel blending. Each barrel contributes a different note, and combining each barrel to create a coherent tone is a distinct art and true pleasure.
Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale, Crystal-120, Munich, Roast Barley, Carafa-2, and Chocolate malts with Columbus, Willamette, and US Golding hops with coffee and cinnamon, and yeast and water.

4.2 Bottle @ Caps & Taps. Pours black with a finger or so of tan foam. I wasn't really sure how this combination of coffee and cinnamon would work, but it sure does. Neither adjunct is overpowering, but both are there. Get a nice punch of barrel with bourbon, oak, and vanilla. Bittersweet chocolate, cinnamon sugar, and some spicy coffee notes. A touch of boozy warmth in there as well. Solid stuff.
4.7 2017 Version with 13.0% ABV. Fantastic strong ale with a great blend of sweet malt, cinnamon, coffee and bourbon. Nice deep caramel color and smooth. Held up well.
4.0 Poured from 650mL bottle (2022 vintage). Dark brown with beige head. Coffee and lots of cinnamon spice. Nice if you enjoy spice bombs.
4.2 Nearly black with a creamy brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, cinnamon, wood, nutmeg, clove, nutty, vanilla, and earthy. Taste is heavy sweet and medium/heavy bitter.
4.3 2019 Bottle from Tavour, 12/21/21. Pours a dark brown color with a medium brown head and moderate lace. Nice aroma of bourbon / vanilla, roasted coffee, cinnamon. All are nicely balanced. Boozy, but not too boozy. Not too sweet. Mildly bitter. Rich, flavorful, and quality. At 14% it is dangerous, but still enough of a sipper (and tasty both cold and closer to room temp), that it drinks great. B-Bonb is one of those beers I feel like I've been hearing about for many many years, and I think it lives up to the hype. Coffee and cinnamon work great with the base beer. Really nice stuff. 8/4/9/4/18
4.1 Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, caramel, hints of maple syrup, taste is bitter, roasted, coffee, chocolate, spice, bit thin and wishy washy.
4.5 Bottle at tasting. Aroma of cinnamon cookies, chocolate, caramel, malt, coconut and rich bourbon. Taste has rich cinnamon cookies, chocolate, malt, caramel, earthy coconut, ginger, earthy vanilla, bourbon and long spicey bourbony finish. Amazing.
Impeccabile. Olfatto : cannella, caramello, cioccolato, caffè, cuoio, vaniglia, legno, bourbon.
3.9 0,66l bottle at Saeglopurs shared by me. Vintage 2019. black color, small coffee colored head. smells herbal, coffee, cinnamon, spices, very nice smell. full body, light carbonation. tastes of coffee, vanill, cinnamon, bit boozy, lightly herbal, marzipan, nutty, bourbon. finishes lightly sweet with notes of cinnamon, bourbon and vanilla notes. very nice one, but a bit on the herbal side, did not age that well, expected a bit more to be honest.
3.9 650 ml waxed bottle, 2019vintage, shared by Werckmeister, thanks! Dark brown body, with a medium, creamy, dak beige head. Aroma with lots of cinnamon, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, tobacco, some dark fruits, some bourbon, some vanilla. Tastes quite similar, with some more burn notes, some booze. Medium, quite creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes boozy, spicy, burnt, roasty, with tobacco, cocoa powder, cinnamon, coffee, some liquorice. Very nice, while I was expecting a bit more. Some burnt notes in the taste that disturb the balance a bit. Otherweise really nice cinnamon and roasty notes. A bit on the boozy side, but not too overwhelming. Nice sipper. Score: 8 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 16
4.0 Pours black with thin, tan head. Aroma is bourbon, dried fruit, cinnamon, coffee and roast. Taste is fig, toffee and cinnamon, moving to coffee, roast and wood. Finish is fig, cinnamon, coffee and bourbon. Smooth stout.
Retrogusto ardiente y denso. Espectacular.
4.5 65 cl bottle, 2019 vintage, served in a snifter. Poured black with two finger tan head. Aroma: coffee, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, strong cinnamon, bourbon, leather, roasted nuts. Taste: very salty!!! Dark roasted espresso beans, Cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, fudge, black pepper, seasalt, toffee, nougat, bourbon, charred oak, nutmeg, plums, sultana, burnt muscovado sugar, molasses, rum soaked raisins, oatmeal raisin cookies, cookie dough, Middle Eastern bazaar spices. Chewy and gloopy mouthfeel. Full body with a roasted bittersweet and salty finish. Very complex brew due to the fantastic barrel aging program. This is excellent stuff!

3.8 Refrigerated 2017 brown bomber poured into a snifter. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is cinnamon, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is cinnamon, coffee, wood, and some bourbon. Much better than the regular for me.
4.1 Deep brown pour, small off-white head. Cinnamon, coffee, nuts, with oak and caramel.nice full body. Great.
4.4 Got this in a trade with Jay Whitson. Thanks Jay!! 2018 edition, waxed and capped. Pours as pretty as a barrel aged Stout can get. Pitch black, 2 fingers of tan foam, superb lacing and head retention. Smells of Bourbon, winter spicing..cinnamon and nutmeg, roasty, chocolate of the sweet kind, little bit of coffee, very boozy. Lots of lovely cinnamon up front, a mix of both dark and milk chocolate, Bourbon, light coffee, good roasty character, alcohol ever present and some would probably say..too much! Well, 14%abv IS 14%abv... Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. I get quite a bit of bitter chocolate in the finish. The best way that I can describe this beer overall is, luxurious. A must try in my book.
4.0 Draft at The Partisan. Pours coca-cola brown with a khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Lots of bourbon and coffee on the nose and tongue. I’m getting a trace of cinnamon on the finish. Hides it’s booze very well
4.3 Bottle: Poured a very dark brown color ale with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with some chocolate, cinnamon and bourbon notes is quite enticing. Taste is a rich and complex mix of bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon with some floral coffee and light woody notes with some residual sugar notes also perceptible. Body is full with good carbonation and light warming notes. Exceptional beer.
