330ml bottle (thanks martjoobolut). Clear dark amber color. Very nutty, walnuts, herbal hops, watery in aroma/taste.
Old rating from 2001 - From the tap at the brewpub. Pours brown with a off white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, biscuit, dried fruit, grain, spice & roasted malt. Medium body. Light dry bitter finish

Mahagonifarbenes Ale im Glas mit weißem Schaum. In der Nase Malz, Zuckerrübensirup und Haselnuß. Im Mund süffig, malzig, nussig und leicht bitter.
500ml Bottle - Brown with orangey tinges and a foamy head. Caramel, biscuity notes and hints of dried fruit in the aroma. Caramel, brown sugar and some biscuity and toasted notes in the taste.
50 cl. flip-top bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve.
clear copper colored with an off-white head. Caramel and gentle roasted malts aroma. Sweet spicy malty taste with a long low-bitter finish. Nice body as well. Very good multi layered altbier.
A stop by on the way to Germany v. Italy for WC 2006. My favorite of the Alts, and probably as I was by myself for this one and met some wonderful people to share a table with. Wonderfully delicate and flavorful.

Bottle in Takumi, Düsseldorf. Poured a bright and clear mid brown colour. Smooth malty base, well balanced bitterness, a nice altbier.
Schönes dunkles Kupfer im Glas. In der Nase malzig, im Trunk ebenso deutlich, Karamell, kernig, brotig, süffig, gutes Ding.
Really nice dark-red color. Steady, medium head.
The sweet aroma of caramel, some cooked veggies. Slight alcoholic hint. Also wet dog.
Mainly sweet, with light to medium bitterness.
Oily in mouth.
Diesel coloured with a frothy head.
Smell of of grains and roasted malts with a caramel note. Basically the same taste with an agreeable bitterness as bonus. Low carbonation.

Fris kruidig alt bier metaal achtig kruidig van smaak zachte bitter en bite in de afdronk verfrissend anders en pittig!
Clear mahagony. Aroma is some metallic iron or oxidized stuff some sweet malt with melasses some fresh doughy base. Taste is sour dough with some metallitc base body. A bit coppery. Sticky on the tongue. Not very complex but it has something.

Thick creamy tan coloured head stayed on a dark chestnut coloured still body.
Heavy malt aroma with spice & caramel.
Medium bodied, airy over the tongue with a slight tickle on the back & cloying back.
Caramel, malt, demerara, berry & slightly spicy tastes.

I'm really not an Altbier fan... but here's another that strikes me as surprisingly quaffable, a good thirst quencher. That said, I coud do with more aroma.
Light medium body. Red copper colour. Good hopped. Crystal or brown malt used. Weak foam. Very good altbier at all
Bottle from Duisburg. Cloudy caramel with a short head. Aroma of musky malt. Flavour is malty caramel, soft base, nut malt background.

0,5 l bottle from Getränkefeinkost, Münster. Dark amber with a foamy two finger head. Caramell malty smell. Taste starts malty with with low sourness. Caramell in the background. Low dry malty bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice one.
Bottle at Beerbohm Lichfield; clear amber pour with a bubbly off white head, aroma has grain and caramel, taste has robust malts, slight red fruit, caramel.
From tap at Brauerei im Füchschen, Düsseldorf. Aroma is brown malts with caramel, notes of dark bread. Sweetish and a littlle more bitter than I expected. Light to medium body. Pleasant Alt.
Fles 33cl thuis. Sterke smaak, flinke malt, droog, haast koffietonen, wat kruidig, lange nadronk. (12-2017).
Pours a clear, mahogany coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of bready, grainy, slightly roasted malt and herbal, slightly floral hops, with hints of nutty accents. Taste is a great balance of bready, grainy, slightly roasted malt and herbal, slightly floral and spicy hops, with hints of red berries and nuts also coming through. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grainy malt, herbal hops and certain mineral note lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Füchschen is a fine Alt, but that combination of slightly more grainy malt, floral hops and certain mineral quality creates a flavor profile that I'm personally not too keen on. It also almost completely lacks that slight caramel sweetness that most of the other Düsseldorf Alts have to them and is a bit more heavy on the red berries. Actually it kinda sits inbetween Uerige and Schlüssel for me, but feeling sort of neither here nor there. While I would happily drink this anytime, I would prefer almost any of the other Düsseldorf Alts to it personally, as this just seems a little less rich and well-balanced. Overall, this makes for a fine Alt that is a bit too grainy and floral for my personal taste though, while feeling not quite as rich and well-balanced as the other Düsseldorf Alts.
Hellbraun, solide Krone, angenehm malziger Duft. Leichter, runder Malzcharakter im Abgang. Gute drinkability.
Draught @ In De Wildeman. Had this before several times, tap and bottle. Clear brown color. Stiff, rocky off white head with good retention. Aroma's: caramel, red fruit. Retronasal it's sweetish, red fruit, light roasted. Flavor is light sweet, roasty. Light bodied. Finishes with light bitterness.
