3.4Clear orange-brown pour with a lots of nice bubbles and a thin white head. Bready malt aroma. Bready, slightly nutty, malt flavor. Bitter hops to finish. Not bad.
3.9pours deep amber red with a lighter tan head. aroma is wonderful, light malt with more hoppy smell. excellent taste, somewhat sweet and bitter. smooth finish with a little bite. thick palate, was’t expecting that. i’m a fan.
3.5Bottle. Dark brown pour. Ruby highlights. Short white head. Aroma is caramel, grains, spicy hops and light earthy notes. Taste is big caramel, grains, spicy hops, earthy hops, light herbal notes and dried fruit. Body is medium with a soft but prickly carbonation. Ends with more caramel notes, toasted malt, dried fruit, spicy hops and earthy notes. Very tasty!
3.9Beautiful looking in the glass, clear red-orange. Sticky head with nice lacing. Aroma is germanic malts and some light caramel. A really fine drinking beer. Superbly balanced, worthy of its heritage. Yum.
3.0Bottle. Clear dark amber with small white head that sticks around. Aroma of bread, caramel and light booze. Taste is boring - nice malt base with light hops that barely come through. Bread, roastedness, light nuttiness. Eh.
3.812 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a dark amber color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, toasted malts, caramel and very faint dark fruits. Taste is toasted malts, cherries and berries, caramel and a dark fruit finish. Very faint hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Enjoyable beer.
2.2Says here this beer is a dunkel. I suppose it makes sense as it quite malty for a lager. Amber color with no head and a caramel sweet nose. Tastes like candy corn. First beer from Full Sail and I wasn’t expecting much. Nothing really stands out here, overall pretty unimpressed.
3.2Sampled from a 12 oz bottle. Overall I was more impressed with this beer than I was first expecting. Pours a amber color, small mostly white head. Aroma is a bit grassy, with touches of grains. A very clean beer, without any offensive touches to it. Not bad.
3.212 oz. bottle as a bonus from a trade with LtDan- thanks, Dan! Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head that leaves a film as a cap on the beer. Aroma of banana, caramel malts, toast, nuts, cherry, hops, and mild spices. Flavor of caramel malts, nuts, toast, sugar, mild spice, hops, funk, and a mineral note. Light-medium bodied, with average carbonation and a funky finish. Sweet, bitter, nutty, and funky. Somewhat chewy in mouthfeel. Interesting beer and not skunky like a lot of German dunkels, but still has a consistent and unusual funkiness.
2.9Pours golden with white head, aroma is biscuity and floral. Taste is lager like with a bit of floral sweetness that goes into a bready malt and finishes a bit dry.
3.22009 Bottle - Pours clear amber with a large off white head...aroma is grainy and sweet malt, little roast and yeasty dough...flavour is similar, pretty sweet, almost corn sweet, roasted nuts and some caramel, cereal grain...tasty, easily better than the other LTD series...
3.1Bottle:   For a Dunkel, it sure has a dark Amber color, reddish hints, very carbonated, moderate to light frothy off-white head, sparce lacing.   Pale cereal aroma, minor breadiness.   Just doesn’t come across as a
Dunkel, but more of a bright Amber.   Quite cerealy on the tongue, very mealy.   Tiz pretty clean tho.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Tiz smooth, clean on the exit, with lingering cereal like malts.   Its okay,
certainly easy to put back, but very forgettable.   The biggest thing it has going for it is the fact that its fairly clean on the finish.   Seems well made, just not what I was thinking it was going to be.   Meh...
3.612 ounce bottle - presumably a new batch of the original recipe - a very smooth, malt forward lager - medium body, with creamy, soft carbonation - very light bitterness makes way quickly for nutty, chocolaty malt sweetness - a tiny hint of tartness way in the back, and some drier, almost roasty notes - a touch of noble hop bitterness in the finish - quite sessionable, balanced, and clean - another underrated Full Sail product.
3.1Not much to say about this guy except that it’s a great tasting slightly malted lager that goes great in hot weather.
3.3Bottle. Pours a light brown with decent sized head. Aroma is bready malt with a hint of hops. Flavor comes in with a clean light roasty maltiness with a hint of nuttiness leading to a dry and lightly bitter short finish. Medium carbonation mixed with the clean and faintly caramel and sweet malts makes it a great drinker with a clean smooth finish begging you to open another.
3.012 oz bottle. Light brown pour, small off white head. Aroma is very bready, light biscuit malts and light citrus hop. Flavor is hefty on malt with a little bit of citrus hop, thin mouth. Not bad, but not something I’d reach for again.
3.1Bottle. Moderate grain, roasted and caramel for the malt, moderate perfume note for the hops and light leather for the yeast, with background notes of wood date and alcohol. Head is small, wispy, off-white, with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is sparkling clear copper. Flavor starts moderately sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic. Palate is medium, oily and has a lively carbonation. An okay Dunkel, but there is an artificial sweetness that’s noticeable throughout.
3.6This brew pours a deep chestnut color with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Nutty and malty aroma. Medium, smooth body with flavors of roasted malt, nuts and hops. The finish is nutty like cashews with notes of roasted malt and moderately bitter hops left over. Decent overall.
3.8Great rich brew, pretty much on par with a good German bock. Pours a dark copper with a quickly dissipating head. Bready, with some nice cocoa notes and very pleasant sweetness. Minimal hop presence, with a nice smooth finish.
3.712 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Dark copper color with a creamy beige head that gives way to a thin cap, leaving wisps of lacing. Aroma is dark bread crust maltiness with a tinge of orangey hoppiness. Flavor is nutty and bready with a very significant hop presence. A little caramel, a little candied orange, some cocoa powder, and some roasted malt. All the flavors blend together nicely to make a very tasty (although not exactly bock-ish) beer. Light bodied, nice carbonation level, no trace of alcohol. Very drinkable.
3.4Very drinkable with some flavor and bite. Not worth a special rating, but not something I would turn down.
4.0Strong, inviting aroma has a mouth-watering overtone of roast corn. It pours a clear coppery amber with a nice thick off-white head that sticks around a while. Flavor is rich and malty with hints of cloves and cinnamon, caramel, and corn, as well as a hint of hops and just a whisper of sweetness. Texture is fizzy and smooth, rather pleasing. Satisfying overall.
3.2Nice toasty brown color. The beer has a nice thin head sitting Fairly pungent malt smell. This beer looks and smells fairly good. A little on the watery side. Of course, I get that toasted, butterish taste. This beer just lacks the body to carry the flavors. Nice sweet taste, but as many have noted this has a pretty dry finish as well. The aroma is stronger than the taste. The taste is just kind of short lived, if you ask me. I think this beer could be a lot better if they honed in on the palate and the flavor; those two aspects of this beer are lagging.
3.512 oz. Clear, copper-brown with a small ring of bubbles. Aroma of toasted walnut, toffee and cocoa. Flavors of caramel, tartish apple, light cocoa and oak. Medium body is smoothly carbonated and acidic-tingly and slightly roasty-dry.
3.912 oz. bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a deep, dark mehogany-hued body with a modestly-sized, ivory-colored head.
Smell: Pleasantly aromatic maltiness with notes of toasted bread crusts, nuts, dark caramel candy, and a teeny tiny pinch of cocoa, supported by a spicy hop scent.
Taste: Toasty, nutty, caramel-covered malts with a toothsome, sugar sweetness. Nearly indistinguishable cocoa hint. Lightly spicy hop character with a mild, subdued bitterness. Sweetish, lightly nutty finish, though the aftertaste dries out in a flash.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Yes, there’s just a pinch of chewiness to it.
Drinkability: Recommended! Rather enjoyable and a pleasant surprise. I could cheerfully clear through a few of these in one sitting.
3.3clear rusty amber under a small beige head. malty aroma with some raisin-like fruits. malty flavor. chewy palate. light toasty, molasses flavors but not really nutty like expected. medium to full bodied.
3.012oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a clear medium/ dark amber with a small off white head. Nice roasty and malty flavor and aroma. A great session beer, not much more, the LTD 02 was better.
3.512-ounce bottle in Albuquerque. Pours a very clear dark amber. Slight white head, fine bubbles, viscus lace. Big malty aroma. Medium body, nice malty, nutty, slightly raisiny flavor with slight underlying hop flavor and bitterness. Very clean. Late dry finish. Nice.
3.2Bottle form the Utah Stat Store. Pours a dark amber color with a small white head. The aroma is mostly lots of toasted malts, some light fruits. A sweet nutty flavor, lots of malts, toasted flavors, some berries also. Very smooth and full flavored.
