Full Sail Pale Ale

Full Sail Pale Ale

This delightful brew is a medium-bodied pale ale that is balanced to perfection. It has a fresh hop aroma and a mild sweetness that finishes crisp and clean. This pale ale is brewed in the American style using two Northwest hop varieties, Centennial and Columbus. The fresh hop flavor is balanced with 2-row Pale and Crystal malts

3.0 Easy to drink basic pale ale. Been happy with most of full sails beers, this one left me a tad underwhelmed.
4.1 Pours hazy yellow, with off-white head. Much lighter than a straight IPA. Crisp and fresh, not syrupy or cloying like modern IPAs can be. Hops come through without strong bitterness. Tropical fruit--mango and grapefruit. Light pine. Makes for a satisfying session beer -- which makes it somewhat unique in this genre. Frat beer.
2.7 Bottle. This is a pretty basic pale ale that with not a whole lot under the hood.
3.4 On tap at capitol beer Sacramento. Color is light copper with white head. Taste was bitter with some pine and fruit.
2.9 12 ounce bottle from mix and match six pack purchased at Finneytown Kroger, tasted on September 1, 2012. Medium amber hue, small lightly off white head, aroma like a pale lager, somewhat watery, light bittersweet taste. I don’t expect the hop presence of an IPA from an APA but it needs to be stronger than this. This beer would be an OK hot weather quaffer but you could get any number of beers to do the same job at a lower price than this stuff goes for. Below average for style
4.0 Very nice. Crisp. Classic. Hoppy enough to make it interesting. Unpretentious. No need to over-analyze. A no-nonsense beer.
3.0 This is OK but not overly impressive. I felt the same way about their IPA. Pours from the bottle with a thick white head, which was promising, though aroma was mild and somewhat malty. Flavor is decent, with some hoppiness. Somewhat prickly mouth feel.
2.2 Bottle. I was a little surprised, since the nose on this actually reminded me of a lager, not a pale ale. I find this a bit skunky and way too malty for the style. Poured a dark gold with a fairly small head, and that’s about the best I can say about this.
4.3 Delicious pale ale. One of the best regular offerings from one of the most solid breweries out there. Sweet and rich. Full bodied and a bit tart. Excellent.
3.1 Faint citrus nose and a yellow pour. Taste is a little hoppy with a sweeter malt backbone. Clean finish.
3.0 Very thin copper color, small off-white head. Aroma is malt, light hops and creme soda. Medium sweet in the middle. The finish finds those hiding hops to finish slightly dry. Decent beer
3.1 355ml bottle pours a light amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is light citrus and floral with some mild grains. Taste is light citrus hop with some malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with some adequate carbonation. An easy drinking pale ale that is perfect around a roaring campfire.
2.9 Light orange-amber with with a thin white head. Faint floral hop aroma. Crisp and lightly bitter. Pretty average American pale ale.
3.0 Draught at the Pilsner Room in Portland. Shiny copper, clear. Fine lacy head. Faint nose of caramel, earth, cherry. Clean and light flavor, English hops, metal, cherry, a bit of caramel. Clean and plain.
3.3 Poured light copper with an average head. Floral aroma with a nice bitter taste up front. Not complex, but a refreshing APA.
2.3 Fucking crap. DP right here. Malty and grainy. Thin and shitty. Big fucking pass
3.0 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice copper color. Some pearly white head. Aroma is very malty for a pale ale. Flavor has a nice grassy note to it, with a backbone of caramel hops. There is a significant alcohol flavor as well, not unpleasant. The hops kind of play second fiddle, but that’s fine, because it’s a very drinkable beer.
2.5 Pours a clear medium tan with a thin white head. Aroma is a bit of apple, actually. Flavor is a bit sour, but not apple. Hard to say on this one. I don’t know that I particularly like it, but it’s not bad.
4.2 Bottle: "This delightful brew is a medium-bodied pale ale that is balanced to perfection. It has a fresh hop aroma and a mild sweetness that finishes crisp and clean" it even better! Food Pairing: Blue Cheese arugula flatbread.
3.3 Pours a light amber color and is crystal clear.Pours with a small head that is off white and dense. It seems to linger a while but has no lacing. The aroma is pretty bland with malts and grain hulls. Hops are very light. Taste is like the nose, some malts, grain hulls maybe a little toasted too in there. Hops have some flavor but I can’t quite put my finger on the taste. A medium weight on the palette and not all that smooth. Finishes clean. Although there is nothing really bad with this beer, there really isn’t anything good with it either.
3.4 Originally reviewed: 2/12/09. Pours a darker gold with a good 2-finger white head resting on top. Decent amount of bubbles rising up. Retention is ok; great lacing. Smells of sweet malt and honey-kissed breads. Some light floral tones present as well. Decent enough flavoring, but I had to mark this point as the lower one due to the slight beef-stew like quality to it. Tastes meaty to me. I love meat, but it’s kind of weird in my beer. Otherwise it’s wonderfully balanced. Slight hop bite at the finish. Pair that with a nice crisp mouthfeel, and you got yourself a good drinker. Recommend.
3.5 Pours a clear light amber with a little bit of white head. Aroma is light floral hops, a bit of honeysuckle in there too. Taste is very crisp Initial light malt punch with a nice hop balance and finishes clean with some sweetness. Very nice, my favorite of the Full Sails so far.
3.1 Faint caramel aroma. Clear light orange color. Flavor is sweetbread and caramel, decent bitter contrast. Fine medium body that has an almost syrupy quality to it. Exactly what I expect from a domestic pale.
3.3 Decent beer. Bottle. Pours a light copper color. Aroma and flavors of hops and malts in nice balance.
3.1 12oz bottle. Clear yellow - orange color. Thin, off-white head, leaving some rows of lace. Lighter, soft carbonation. Drier texture. Nice balance of light hops, and malty aromas. Light bitter taste. Decent pale ale.
3.1 Bottle. Big malt base with some hoppy citrus and a very light bitterness throughout. Finish is a bit on the weak side.
3.9 Full Sail Pale Ale has a thick, frothy, slightly off-white head and a clear, yellow-orange appearance, with a decent amount of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is of citrus (orange) and bready barley malt, but, overall, the smell is faint. Taste is of citrus, bread, some pine notes, and a good amount of pleasant hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and Full Sail Pale Ale finishes easy-drinking and sort of wet. Drinkability is very high with this one. Overall, it’s a great beer. RJT
3.0 Bottle. Orange-caramel malt and citric hops aroma. Amber color with small head. Sweet orange-caramel malt flavor and light orange peel hops flavor. Medium body. Nice beer.
3.4 This pale ale poured a crystal clear amber colour with a bright white, creamy head. To the ose there are scents of pineapple, orange and lemon citrus hops, cooked veggies and maybe light cinnamon? First sip was smooth almost to watery with flavours of medium sweet malt and a light hop flavour, slightly citric. Finish is medium bitter with hopp bitterness lingering.
3.2 Nose is mostly caramel, fruity with a little bit of hops. Its light bodied with light carbonation. Decent session beer.
