3.6Pours copper with a fine white head. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is malty with too sweet of a finish. Not to bad, but there are better Belgians out there.
3.4Medium brown with a big fluffy head, great retention and nice lace. Biscuity malt aromas with hints of dark fruit - black cherries and figs. Dark fruit sweetness pretty much dominates the flavor profile, with some candy sugar and Belgian yeast notes swimming around. Medium body, generous effervescence, slight alcohol warmth, and a pleasant sweetness in the finish.
3.4Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, raisins, and some clove. Aroma of Belgian yeast. Good flavor and fairly sweet.
2.4Nothing much resembling a Dubbel outside of color. No aromatics to speak of and a sweet, nearly cloying palate.
2.9[4326-20120309] 22floz bottle. Caramel light floral toffee aroma. Slightly hazy, dark amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Toasted boozy malt grain flavour. Medium body is quite rough. Average. (6/3/5/3/12) 2.9

3.1My bottle [660ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel. March 9. Pours a dark amber with an average size diminishing off-white head. Quite a mild aroma of caramel malt, fruit and yeast
Flavour of caramel malt, fruit, yeast and some sugary sweetness. Average to medium bodied. Just O.K., pretty mild for a Dubbel.
4.9For the price this is a damn good dubbel. Most dubbel’s cost $10 or more. Has a cleaner feel than European dubbel’s. Lighter in alcohol and body. Fizzy and no head. Like a Belgium dubbel pale. This is so good it should have it’s own style like west coast dubbel or dubbel pale. Really good. So frickin tasty! So cheap $4.29 So worth it! Sometimes I think Dubbel’s are like Champagne in that unless they are brewed in Europe they shouldn’t be allowed to be called Dubbel’s. Wholesome, malty, well-made brew. Smooth. Very pleasant from start to finish, and through the aftertaste. Toasty, raisiny and nutty. Some sweetness, but not overly sweet. Round yeast flavors and esters. Mild and fitting bitterness level balances things out. Enjoyable and cozy beer.
3.1Appearance: dark brown with ruby highlights, fizzy light tan head. Aroma: raisins, licorice, port, lightly toasted malts. Taste: yeasty, with notes of oatmeal raisin cookies, licorice, booze, and some clove. Finish: lightly tingly, with a smooth, malty sweetness and lingering candi sugar. Notes: Not a bad dubbel. The licorice notes were just a tad too strong.
3.2Bottle. Pours extremely clear amber/ruby with a trace of white head; short retention and no lacing. Aroma is yeast, caramel and cookie malt, dark fruit, grassy hops, and light corn. Flavor is mostly malt with faint supporting hops and fruit esters; dry, semi-sweet finish. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.
3.4Bottle thanks to Ibrew2or3: Poured a brown with red edges head was thick off white. Aroma was light spice and fruit. As for taste I got a biscuit and raisin dark fruit front with a slight sweet sticky malt finish.
3.1Reddish hue with a small off-white head. A good yeasty aroma. Its the style, but nothing to write home about: bitter-sweet,a tad of toast. not too complex. Middling mouthfeel.
ken’s bottle.
3.22012-03-09. Hazy dark amber body with a small beige head that fades. Mild aroma, light fruit and sugar notes. 6+ Flavour is similar, sugar, caramel, light alcohol, light tangy fruit note lingers. 6+ Average bodied palate is a bit light. Okay, but surprisingly mild overall for a 7% beer. Bottle shared by Blankboy

3.5Poured from a large bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a somewhat-cloudy dark amber color with an average-sized foamy white head with light retention and average cling. The beer featured malt aromas of caramel and spices, along with some fruity and earthy hops, and a bit of yeast. The beer had a sweet malty taste with tones of candy and had a slight bitterness too. It was fairly lively on the palate with modest carbonation and a thin-medium body which had average wetness.
3.3Rich malt aromas followed by the flavors of biscuit and roast that are rounded by a rich sweet malt character. With a light chewy finish.
3.2From the 22oz bottle. Pours a ruby red with a thin white head. Huge nose of plum and figs with hints of citrus hops. Medium bodied, big dark fruit and earthy hops in the taste. Tasty brew with light Belgian notes.
3.422 oz. bottle served in a wide rim glass since my trappist glass was broken a few months back- poured a semi transparent light brown with orange shades when held to a light source, some frog eyes and a creamy white ring for a head around the glass.aroma of candi sugar, brown sugar, yeast, and some dark fruit esters. Hits the mouth with a high- medium body, malt is just delicious and has multiple levels of awesomeness, some notes of peppercorn in the middle, finish is complete with some warmth from the alcohol and a dulled bit of sweetness. The old Cult song popped into my head when I saw the name of the bottle, thanks for the flashback and the beer!
3.5Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/2/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly sweet, with some fruity notes, spice, brown sugar, and a little yeast
Appearance: Pours a somewhat cloudy orange-amber color with a small head and spotty lacing
Flavor: The taste is fairly sweet as well, with sugary flavors, and some fruit and malt sweetness
Palate: It is medium bodied, drinks pretty smoothly, with a soft carbonation, and just a hint of heat
Overall Impression:
I thought this was a pretty nice Doubel. It is perhaps a bit one dimensional on the sweet side, but the sweetness isn’t cloying. There’s also a slight alcoholic dryness that shows up in the finish. I liked it.
3.7Rusty brown in color, thin creamy head. Malty sweet aroma almost like cinnamon raisin toast. Flavor notes of more sweet malt and dried fruits. Overall, slight watered down flavor but tasty and drinkable.
3.3Date: November 12, 2011
Mode: Bottle
Source: Hop City, Atlanta
Appearance: cloudy dark amber, beige head, drippy lace
Aroma: sweet fruity aroma, good dose of chocolate, fruity esters, touch of phenolic spicyness
Flavor: rich fruity flavor, complex malt, touch of caramel and chocolate, just a touch of spicyness, light bitterness, needs sweetness to bring out the fruity esters
Aroma: 7/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 6/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 13/20

Drinkability: 7/10

2.2some malt and alcohol aroma the beer is sweet with some spice and dishwater. a little white pepper, coriander and clove like flavor with barely moderate cold lightly carbonated body. light toffee, vanilla like altogether a mish mash type of brew unidentifiable with a dead finish with perhaps a fleeting cherry gum. yes very soda like, dead soda.
3.3Poured a cloudy, orange tinted, medium amber with a thin tan head that dropped to just a film rather quickly. The aroma was mild with primarily sweet roasted malts and dark brown sugar. There was some raisin and dried dark fruits. The beer had a light creamy texture and good carbonation that lead to a light tart, crisp taste. There was good caramel malt sweetness and a hint of chocolate. The finish was mellow with a nice alcohol warmth
2.5This beer is too much soda like, cola in particular. Full Sail is nothing special from experience.
3.3From a bottle poured a dark amber/brown color with a small amount of head. Sweet malty flavor with a quick finish.
3.73 feb 2012, bottle. Red/amber, clear. Great nose. I’d almost say smells like a barley wine than a quad. Sweet, wet bread, warm cherries, alcohol and raisins. Great! Med/thin body and fizzy. Too fizzy for the beer. Sweet bready beer with not as much alcohol or taste complexity as I hoped.
3.4Pours out a amber/orange topped with a small off white head. Aroma of pit fruit, spice, brown sugar, and some yeast. Taste was much as the aroma with the sweetness of the pit fruit and brown sugar
3.1Bottle. Poured thin and chestnut brown, what little carbonation and head there is almost immediately clearing out. The aroma leans towards the expected brown sugary essence of many a dubbel, but is actually pretty restrained. The flavor boasts more aggressively, asserting a kick of acohol and cooked caramel. (#4446, 1/15/2012)
2.822 oz bottle, 2011. Pours dark amber, almost brown, very little head that retreats to a white ring, no lacing to speak of. Smells sweet, malty, caramel, mild alcohol. Tastes malty, caramel, gingerbread?, mild bitterness at the finish. Full bodied mouthfeel. Not bad for an american interpretation of the dubbel style.
3.3caramel brown with a cream head. nose is sweet caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and dried fruits. easy on the palate, very malt heavy, super sweet, chewy caramel, and a lightly spiced finish.
3.1Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Light spicy yeasty aroma with some sweeter and toasty malty notes. The flavor is on the bland side, with some light banana-like fruity sweetness, spicy yeast, and toasted malts. Decent.
3.3A very drinkable dubbel. Nothing extraordinary whatsoever. Clean yet nicely resiny aftertaste. This gets hurt by a bit of tweenerism. Not exciting enough to seek out but probably a bit sweet for session drinking.
