Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, apricots, orange peel, dark bread, honey, oak wood, vanilla, a touch of chocolate and earthy aromas of armagnac. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, dark bread, nuts, orange peel, a touch of chocolate, spicy hints of cinnamon and vanilla, and a warming touch of armagnac in a finish with a balanced bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and interesting, with a distinct armagnac character, that stay well balanced throughout. Very nice.

3.5 Bright amber, coarse low top. Dry, fruit-cake fruity. Some nuts and malt drops. Predominant barrel notes, yet quite soft in the mouth. [Bottle from the brewery, enjoyed at home]
3.6 500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear copper colour with moderate-sized cream-coloured head. Aroma is quite woody with caramel, cherries, baked apples and earthiness. Flavour is full of oakiness, fair amount of dark fruit, including cherry, stewed green apple, hints of caramel and vanilla, as well as a little earthiness. Interesting.
4.0 Deep honey, chocolate aroma. Pours dark amber with a foamy, bubbling which has the hint of sweetness from the armagnac oak casks . Has a heady oaked flavour, malty, caramel, and that armagnac returns at the end. Triumphant!
4.3 500ml bottle, #09162. Pours a brilliant deep gold, with an off-white head. Spicy, complex, malty aroma, wood, vanilla, citrus, caramel, floral notes, brandy, lightly toasted notes. Off-dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Spicy, complex, woody taste, vanilla, brandy, caramel, orange peel, yeast, hops. Very well balanced, subtle rather than powerful. Elegant. Well done again, Mr Keeling. (2014-12-23

3.6 Bottle from Fuller’s website. This copper coloured beer pours with a large foamy head. It has deep, rich red fruit and currant flavours, vanilla notes and Armagnac on the fruity finish.
3.4 Pours clear orange with a moderate fizzy white top. Aroma is sweetness from the oak barrels and small bittering hops. Taste is carbonated, not the normal smooth velvet mouthfeel I have come to expect from Fullers. Nice sweetness and dry mouthfeel from the barrels and earthy cereal malts.
3.7 This was nice. Pours clear orange, lots of head and lots of lacing. Nose is sweet liquor, probably Armagnac. Flavours are sweet caramel, some Armagnac,. Taste medium sweet, light bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation. Nice!!
3.8 500ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip glass. Bottle nr. 36756. A: Pours a dark amber color. Quite nutty but absolutely clear. Forms a medium bubbled yellow head forming small spotty lacings in the glass. Medium to low retention but with a quite persistent thin layer that remains on the top for long time S: Great sweet toffee and caramel malts with strong notes of wood and cognac. Booze but balanced. Fruity as it should with strong notes of dark and mainly dry fruits: cherry, raisins and plums T: Sweet front. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, roasted malts. Ooooaaak! Oh boy... Strong notes of dark fruits and dark dry fruits like plums, raisins, cherry, grapes and cherrywood. Notes of cognac and alcohol M: Heavy molasses body. Medium carbonation. Sweet malty aftertaste with strong alcohol notes. Warming beer O: Great drinkability. Extremely well done ale. Just another Fuller’s masterpiece [ BA Review @ 10/31/2013 ]

Aroma of white wine, grapes, some wood, hint of (wilder) yeast, light malts, hint of vanilla, some custard and a nice balanced pinch of spices. Beautiful aroma, very nice sniffer! Flavour of grapes, bitter, very light tint of something like light tart fruit, yeast, some herbs, some wood, malts, light spice and grain tones some white wine and some earthy tones with a hint of wilder yeast. Also a light alcohol touch. Aftertaste is bitter, malty, herbal and some white wine notes. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than medium bodied and a spicy creamy texture. Nice stuff! Interesting and tasty!
3.9 Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - beautiful amber to red with a lovely creamy head. Nose - stewed apples and wood. Taste - plums and wood. 4.0 500ml bottle from the brewery online shop. Bottle 23571. Pours clear red brown, thin white head. Aromas of stewed apples, Calvados, vanilla, wood. Mince pies. Taste is stone fruit and all of the above, plus marzipan. Medium body, long complex finish. Lovely.
3.9 Bottle #29838 - purchased at the LCBO in May 2013, in my "cellar" since then. Pours a mostly clear sunset-copper with a light tan head. Really lovely aroma that seems subtle, but has a lot going on when you look for it - armagnac (duh!), marzipan, figs, prunes, a slightly sour woodiness, and a bit of bitter orange peel. Flavour is a little less complex, starting with sweet caramel malt, with armagnac notes quickly following, some warming spice (clove, nutmeg), and finishing with bitter orange and some alcohol, although not as much as you might expect from an 8.5% beer. A very nice sipper that I spent most of an evening enjoying.
3.2 Bottle. Amber with white head. Aroma of caramel, fruity toffee and a little apple. Taste of caramel apple, oak. Little tangy and sweet.
3.4 Bottle at Craig’s. Pours amber, nose is light toffee and caramel, taste is sweet, chewy, bitter, tangy.
3.5 bottle at home ... copper ... big tan bubbly head ... soft sweet berries... soft fruits ... juicy fruits ... light dry toffee roast ... tangy ... zety lemmon ... light sweet roast sugers ... dark malts ... and soft armagnac... interesting
3.4 Bottle - Sweet cherry and pale malts. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Sweet fruity caramel and oak notes. A bit fruity with some mellow barrel notes. Light and flavorful.
4.9 Sanslöst stor doft, sött, fatigt och en massa torkad frukt. Aprikoser å russin. Fyllde munnen på ett kladdigt och storartat sätt! Fan vad jag önskar att jag hade köpt en till av den här!!
4.0 This has a shot of sleek brandy nuances over the totally great alefruits and superb malting - not as forceful as Armagnac’s big cousin, Cognac and it suits well. Winey AND beery all at once, wow I have a full-on beer boner.
3.7 Bottle at a camping in the Czech Republic. Clear sunset pour, thick foamy off-white head. Aroma of apricot, peach, pineapple, some alcohol and slightly spicy. Flavor is very fruity, slightly bitter, slightly sweet and with a hint of sourness. Well balanced and with a thick body.
3.9 Appearance: Clear copper/ruby with 2 finger thick beige head. Aroma: Toffee/golden syrup, herby, vinous, fig, woody, marzipan. Taste: Medium bitterness and sourness with low sourness. Palate: Medium thick texture, medium body, average carbonation, lingering dry, vinous, fruit cake, toffee finish with a lot of alcohol warmth and dryness. Comments: Lovely and glass lace. Bottle number 27950.
3.7 Bottle 50 cl. Amber, hazy with a lightbrown head. Malt, hops, wodden aroma. Bitter with a strong malt end. Flu.
