This delicious, premium blonde ale from Fuller’s is the perfect combination of unbeatable flavour and refreshment.
Brewed using a unique blend of malted barley and wheat for a delicious malty taste bursting with rich, biscuity flavours, Liberty hops are then added for a distinctive zesty character and fruity bite, whilst Saaz hops add a gentle bitter taste for a clean, refreshing finish.
In cask, Discovery is 3.9% ABV, while in bottles the strength is 4.5% ABV.
Discovery tastes great served chilled, and its light, refreshing character makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods.

2.7 Cask. Golden with white head. Very mild flavour of pale malt and hops. Too thin and flavourless.
2.0 On tap (Cask) at the Holly Bush NW3. Golden beer with no head to speak of. Initial taste is sugary and hint of peach, but quickly dies away and hint of bile in the finish. Tastes very forced, a great disappointment from Fullers.
3.4 Cask @ Fullers. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, hops, fruits and flowers. Soft carbonated and full bodied. Oily.
3.4 Cask at some pub in town. Gold, thick white head. There is something about Fullers, kind of soapy and malty that I like. Nice malt characteer, some fresh hops, pine. It’s nice this for an average English beer.
2.8 Tasted this in the Blackbird, Earls Court, London in July 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white head. Slight dusty hint of hop flowers in the very short aroma. Thin refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a digestive biscuit note with orange peel fruit present. Dry dusty hop resins redolant in the sharp bitter aftertaste. Finish is zesty with sweet citrus notes. An ok session bitter.
3.2 Pale straw color from the cask to my glass. A thin white head that sticks around for a bit and leaves rings of lacing as I quaff it. Dry hop aroma mixed with a smattering of malt. Nice hop flavor with subdued malt and biscuit. Decent session beer. Nice addition to my lunch.
3.0 Cask in the Victoria paddington. Nice hoppy aroma. Nice golden clear colour. Medium hoppy taste. light sweetness. Medium co2. Light bitter end. Light beer with good aroma and taste
2.8 Cask at Bishop Arms, Copenhagen. Clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, caramel and fruit.
2.8 Cask at Bishops arms, København. Clear golden coloured with a small white head. Malty aroma of caramel with notes of hops. Fruity flavour of malts, caramel and hops. Hoppy finish.
3.3 Cask in The Hung, Drawn & Quartered, Tower Hill. Colour is light golden. Nose is grainy barley malt, citrous lemon and honey. Taste is same. Light and easy drinking.
3.7 (on tap) Golden with good head. Citrusy aroma. Medium body, medium carbonation. Flavor is nice and refreshing with citrus balanced with sft malt. Very little bitterness. A nice subtle refreshing beer.
3.1 Tried at the fullers brewery tour. Tour guide described this beer as an ale that tastes more like a lager. I disagree. Has an interesting yeasty taste, sometimes a characteristic I taste in other beers made with wheat in the mash. Color is straw like, with a characteristic thin cask ale head. There is something in the finish that did not appeal to my aesthetic, but I do not have the proper vernacular to describe this taste. Feels very thin and appetizing on the palate Other than that after taste, it was a decent ale, and its always great to be able try new ales out of the cask.
3.0 A - Slightly lemony citrus and a floral touch A - Light gold with a thin slightly lacy head T - Sweet, but more sour with lasting light bitter P - Thin O - Must admit, I was expecting more
3.4 Tap @ The Barrowboy and Banker. Pours clear golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is a bit malty, fruity, peaches and sweet. Flavor is peachy sweet, maltyness is there, too and nic bitterness. Finishes fruity bitter.
3.2 On Tap on Victorias in London. Poured a clear golden color with a fine off white head. Aroma is very hoppy. Citrus flavors. Slightly creamy and sour malt finish. Good stuff
3.2 Tap, I liked this one, it was nice and golden, very drinkable, it was a really nice a bit malty, good offering
3.4 On cask at a Fullers bar in London, England. Light malty aroma and flavour. Medium body and sweet finish.
2.9 Cask. Deep gold colour with bubbly white head. This is a sweetish, juicy fruit beer, light and bordering on lager. Pineapple notes stick out with an underlying biscuit malt. Rather low on a hoppy finish.
3.0 Cask at the Wharf. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is hop, fruit, malt. Flavour is dry, hop, fruit, malt, citrus. OK beer.
3.0 Cask@The Warf, Aalborg.Pours deep golden with a small white head.Aroma of floral and cheesy hops, some citrus and fruitiness.Flavor is sweet and somewhat malty with some herbal and fruity notes.Medium body, soft carbonation.Highly drinkable .
3.0 Cask at The Wharf. It pours a clear, light amber body with a finger-thick coarse off-white head. The aroma has an almost burnt note, else it’s quite citrusy, citrys peel that is, and with a little maltyness. The flavor goes in the same direction, some malt and a good dash of citrusy hops, but not that unpleasant burnt note. Lacks a bit on bitterness all over. Medium body. A drinkable one indeed, but a bit dull. 110320
2.8 Cask at the Head of the River, Oxford, England. Cloudy golden colour with small frothy white head. Mild fruity hops in aroma. Flavour is pretty much the same. Some sweetness too. Cask at the George IV, London, England. Clear amber colour with almost no head. Malt and mild fruity hops in aroma. Sweet mild hops and fruitiness in flavour.
3.6 Handpump at the brewery. Blond with a frothy head. Spicy noble hop aroma and honey maltiness. Nice honey sweetness and spicy hop balance in the flavor. Medium-light body. Nice and fresh tasting overall. An interesting take on a more continental blond ale.
3.5 [3290-20100804] Cask. Fresh grainy bread and lemon hops aroma. Clear, orange yellow body with a long-lasting foamy white head. Very bready grassy dough flavour has mild lemon hops and a bitter aftertaste. Medium body. More interesting on cask, fairly drinkable. (@ Ye Olde Mitre, London, England)
3.1 (Cask at Blackbird, Earl’s Court, London) The closest pub to my hotel was a Fuller’s pub. They had this one on. The beer was flawless quite Fuller-like brew - even the strawberry was there. Aroma containde also tangerine which I rarely notice in beers. The body was bit lighter and maltiness was less present than other Fuller’s beers. Beer was ok, but I wouldn’t bother to try it again.b
3.2 @ Old Fish Market, Bristol. Golden-amber. Honeyish, melony aroma. Sweetish taste, with honeyish overtones and mellow English hops. Goes down easily with low bitterness.
3.4 Flat and refreshing and not overly yeasty like some of its fellow British ales. The bitterness is not too flowery. A good gentle beer.
1.9 A britishversion of a light macro beer. Little to no flavor or aroma. A carbonated palate and an overall meh. There was some serious sweetness to it too.
2.5 Cask @ The Bridge Inn, Bristol. Honey-gold, a warm color with stable head. Simple honey aroma has fruity overtones--white fruits like lychee. Simple, bland beer. Seems meant to be served chilled. Has kind of a corn/cereal grain flavor. Is pretty thin, even watery. Could be much better.
3.1 2010-08-04. Crisp golden yellow body, small frothy white head. Flavour is on the sweet side, fruity overtones, mild pale malts, very very light biscuity accents. Mild aroma light fruity character, mild pale malt base. Smooth average plus body for a cask. Quite mild, but okay. Bit dull, but drinkable. Cask at Ye Old Mitre, London
