Fuller's Golden Pride (Bottle/Keg)

Fuller's Golden Pride (Bottle/Keg)

Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.

Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

3.3 Old rating from 12-12-14 - 500ml bottle, light red with a off white creamy head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, biscuit, orange peel, alcohol & spices. Medium body. Moderate bitter finish
5.0 Where can I get this in USA .. ??
3.6 330 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Clear golden amber with white head. Sweet malty with biscuits and bread. Semi dry with medium biterness and medium carbonation.
3.7 500ml bottle. Amber + white head. Big sweet malty, big stone fruit, big orange peel, caramel, dried fruit, raisin, bready, spices, light dark chocolate, light dark fruit, light vinous / red wine type taste, light weird tobacco (??) light dubbel / Belgian dark ale aspects almost. Alcohol is surprisingly well hidden for 8.5%, especially considering a lot of Fuller's stronger beers can taste a bit boozy to me. I actually think this is better than Fuller's Vintage Ale, it's a quarter of the price of that beer as well, nice.
3.8 Bottle.
4.0 Amber color with fine foam. Nose: Malt, caramel notes, dried fruit, some wine and light hops. Perfectly!! Taste. Caramel, dried fruit, raisins, wine notes in the aftertaste pleasant bitterness. Alcohol is not well hidden. Perfect balance and taste.
3.9 Malty loveliness. Some orange peel and dark chocolate but mainly a big malty kick. Chocolate ovaltine on steroids. Very very nice.
3.8 500ml glass bottle from Waitrose in Westfield London for £2.50. Stamped as best before 01/08/2021 and served into a pint glass having been out of refrigeration for about 30 minutes. The beer pours a dark golden colour, reminiscent of baked blood orange flesh. A small one finger even head, dissipates very quickly. The colour of honeycomb. A few small bubbles. The aroma is very inviting and complex. Baked brown bread, orange oil, butter biscuit. A little hint of dark chocolate or liquorice. A little alcohol. The taste is malt driven, as expected. Orange oil, and marmalade spread on toasted cheap brown bread. A very low but always present herbal quality from the hops. A very tasty beer. No alcohol detectable. Smooth in the mouth. Balanced with that constant low level of herbalness. Orange oil. Having said all of that the aftertaste is fairly short lived. I can think of many beers of this and similar styles that linger for a while. Overall, a very tasty, highly drinkable beer. I will return again. Especially come those cool autumnal nights.
3.0 Fles.
4.0 500ml bottle brewed in England at 8.5%. Clear-as-you-like, very ruddy brown body with a small head fizzing away instantly. Fruity, boozy aroma with a touch of chocolate. Low carbonation, surprisingly thick mouthfeel for the clarity. Rich fruity English strong ale, rhubarb, plum, raisin, all jammy and juicy, with perhaps just a hint of orange oil. There's a similarly smooth and integrated brown-bread/toffee/chocolate malt to round things off. Some alcohol warmth but no harshness. Quality affair from Fuller's - worth comparing/contrasting with Old Tom. This has more low notes. The same goes for putting it in a head-to-head with Fuller's own ESB. Golden Pride is remarkably easy-drinking. Well worth picking up if you can find it - let's hope Asahi keep their hands off the brewing process...
3.7 Bottle from Ocado;
2.8 Aroma : Rich toffee maltiness, rich spicy fruit cake, orange marmalade & alcohol. Taste : As aroma. Medium bodied. Only medium bitter as there's a qiute sweet fruity and quite spicy note. Big alcohol warmth in the finish, which spoilt it a bit for me

3.8 500 ml. bottle, a surprise find at Jason's near NCCU. Aroma: slightly bready. Appearance: clear black tea, 2-3 mm. tan lacing. Palate: medium-bodied and rather oily, soft carbonation; long and complex, predominantly bitter finish. Taste: medium-bitter, vanilla, plums, alcohol well-hidden. Excellent beer, dangerously quaffable.

3.5 500ml bottle from Tesco, Watford and drunk on 25/03/2006. A deep golden beer with big dried fruit and peal aromas. Quite syrupy, but really rather drinkable for a stronger bitter/ English Strong.
3.9 0,5l bottle. Pours clear amber with off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee, fruity, orange marmalade. Taste is malt, caramel, toffee, english hops, fruits, orange. Business as usual (and that's a good thing).
3.2 getrunken Anfang 2013 Dieses Bier erinnert frappant an manches belgische Strong Ale.
3.8 Bottle. Amber/copper with almost no head. Aroma of stone fruits, malts, honey and orange marmelade. Taste of malts, honey, plums, toffee, walnuts, caramel and orange marmelade. Some boozy warmth. Moderate but distinctive bitterness. Low to medium carbonation. Balanced. Lovely.
4.6 Pours well, light head. Fruity smells and lovely all around flavour. Wonderful mouth feel. My go-to ale. Possibly the best strong ale avalible.
3.9 500 ml bottle poured into a snifter glass. Medium long lasting head, aroma of malt and slight hint of caramel. Dark-ish color, medium body and a Smooth finish. High ABV% so a couple of bottles put you in a nice place.
3.7 Thin caramel coloured still head left a cover on a toffee coloured still body. Toffee, caramel & bonfire toffee aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the palate with slight tickle on the back & clean aft. Roasted, caramel, toffee, caramel, malt, demerara, raisin & stewed fruit tastes.
3.4 Bottle. Malty aroma and taste, caramel, honey, ripped fruit, medium bitter, light sweet notes. Medium to full body, malty fruity bitter finish with long warming alcohol notes. Ok.
