Fuller's / Moor Rebirth

Fuller's / Moor Rebirth

Inspired by the very first ESB recipe, we’ve used hops from Britain, Australia, Slovenia and the USA to create a rich, complex, delicious ale. The original ESB from 1971, reborn.

4.0 330ml bottle. Clear amber with two finger off white head. Atoma is xaramel, toffee, nuts, citrus, orange, apricot and peach. Taste is initially nutty and caramelly gollowed by orange, citrus and dried fruit notes and ending with gentle but lasting bitter and lightly roasted notes. Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation and lasting dry aftertaste with gentle bitterness.

3.5 Bottle from the brewery. Dark copper colour. Low to medium carbonation. Rich taste with good malts and earthy hops and a delicate fruitiness with hints of oranges. Very nice ESB.
3.7 Bottle from a mix box from the Waitrose at Gloucester Rd. Pours bright copper with a creamy/bubbly whitish head. Aroma is floral with a little mildly roasty caramel. Arguably medium body. Flavor is somewhat spicy/floral and the malt isn’t lost in hop. Carbonation is spritely. Touch of leather in the finish. Good, tasty ale.
3.7 A copper coloured, a head is quite small and blond. Aroma is pleasantly fresh, fruitness and toffee with some flowers. Taste has maltyness of toffee, but not too sweet, balanced, some fruitness and flowers, medium bitterness but could be even more. Medium bodied. Simple flavours but when the balance is great now, it's not need to be anything more.
3.4 Flaska. Bärnstensfärgad med ett vitt skum. Dofter av torkad frukt, karamell och nöt. Samma smaker plus knäck. Mjuk munkänsla, medelbeska.
3.3 Herb-würziger, deutlich hopfiger Beginn. Süffig, spritzig, vollmundig. Trocken hopfig-bitter, intensiv, stark hopfiger Nachhall. 10/11/10/10/11/10
3.7 From the bottle. Brown with a creamy white head. Aroma is caramel, apple cider, wood, earthy. Quite pleasant. Taste is bittersweet, moderately bitter at the end with a notable malt profile. Body is to the light side of medium, carbonation is mild. Overall, well rounded, pleasant.
3.6 Bottle. Pale amber color. Dried fruit, raisin, floral notes and biscuity malt in the aroma. Dry, raisinny, floral flavor. Hint of licorice and blackberries. Indeed reminded me of the Fullers ESB I tasted in the late 70’s in Delft.
3.4 0,33l bottle. Pours dark amber with medium sized white head. Caramel, toffee, biscuit malt with nice bitter finish. Average carbonation. Good.
2.8 Tap @ Flakhaven, Odense. Pours Copper amber with a White head. Toffee and caramel. Sweet and flabby. Dusty.
3.7 Bottle, Tesco online. Did they serve the original ESB in a 330ml bottle? Probably not. This was a nice beer, I thought compared with the current day ESB it was drier and had a more vinous and less marmeladey hop character. Slightly different, but still nice. Conditioning was better than bottled ESB but not as good as when it is in good nick on cask. Would have been great in a full size bottle...
3.6 Aroma of fruits, malt, marmelade and caramel. Amber with a white head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with average carbonation. Dry and bitter fonish. Overall a very nice decent ESB. Well balanced with nice complexity.
