3.8 500 ml bottle. Bottle #00469. Courtesy of lusikka. The Grand Vintage Tasting. Clearish amber colour with a small off-white head. Rennie (or some other medicine used to make you feel alive), dark fruits, sweetness, Coke and mild metal notes in the aroma. The flavour is mild hops, mild bitterness, mild alcohol, dark fruits, sweetness, sugar and some maltiness. This is so much more fresh than the older ones (1999-2002). Not bad at all.

A little bit oxidized brew but still excellent.

3.6 Bottle @ benzai. Slightly hazy copper colour with a small off-white head. Smells malts, alcohol, rhum, wood, sweetish. Tastes sweet, slightly sugary, rhum, slightly krentenbol, slightly boozy, old. Medium body, soft carbo.
3.9 Aroma is heavy on raisins and figs. Whilst pouring this brew developed a foamy eggshell head which has receded to just a bubbly layer on top of the beer. Taste is spice and raisins with a long warming finish. I felt that this vintage lacks the Orange and citrus characteristics but that’s perhaps what 8 years does to this beer, its a good one nonetheless - especially to sip on a cold evening.
3.8 Bottle from Sainsbury’s. 2006: Drank 2017-04-07: Hazy brown-red with cherry, currant and dried fruit flavours followed by a warming cheery and spicy, oak and fruity finish. Still very good; 2006: Drank 2016-09-23, aged for 10 years. Dark copper coloured with a thin white head. Rich red fruit and slight soapy and perfume flavours followed by currants and dried fruit on the finish. Good but probably past it’s best; 2006: Drank 2014-10-04, aged for 8 years. Dark brown-ruby red coloured with spicy rich currants, liquorice and red fruity flavours followed by a smooth, creamy burnt toffee and a slight tart ‘aged’ finish.
3.9 richly flavored with layers and layers of malt, spices, and a light zesty fruitiness that is very appealing. another winner.

3.8 Courtesy of Garthicus. Reddish brown pour with a thin off-white head. Very Trappiste Ale like. Vinous, strong malty caramel backbone, redcurrants, booze, earthy, woodchip, slight clove and nutmeg, hints of tangerine peel. Smooth on the palate and full bodied. This is the only Fuller’s Vintage Ale I have tried and it’s extremely good.
3.8 Bottle number 18123 opened in March 2014. Copper coloured with a ring of cream head; rich, raisiny aroma with a touch of spice; thick and oily texture, with caramel and mellow, vinous fruits, but also with a surprisingly sharp bitterness giving some dry spice; the finish has more raisins and sultanas. This seems to have aged better than other years.
4.3 Bottled. Amazing aroma with fermented fruits, a bit like port wine. The taste is not the best, but still awesome. Fruit, licorice, coffee. The finish is one of the longest I’ve had. Just great.
3.9 Pours medium browny and headless. Smells chocolaty and strong. Tastes sweet and complex
3.7 Aroma: caramel malts, dark fruits. Appearance: clear dark gold/amber, medium frothy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: complex sweetness, some light bitters, dried fruits, caramel malts. Overall: very nice English Strong Ale, big fan of those Vintage Ales. Bottle at the Jugged Hare, Victoria.
4.0 Bottle from John’s Marketplace via Phil. Pours a medium brown, very little head. Aroma dried fruit, caramel, toffee. Body medium but with a lingering sweetness. Not my thing, but superb.
