4.1 Pours dakr amber with a off-white mousse-like head. Nose shows caramel, bready and biscuity malt, toffee, spicy and earthy hops, orange marmalade, golden syrup. Flavours include more toffee, marmalade, spicy hops, sultanas, golden syrup, soft booze, earthy and grassy hops and some port-like notes.
3.1 Panel "Nudna Anglia vs Nieciekawa Belgia" w Strefie Piwa.
3.8 Virtual/Skype tasting with Nordcore! Appearance: Bottle 046123. Dark amber brown, clear. Good amount of creamy, light tan head. Aroma: Dark ripe fruits, medium malt, caramel sweetness. Taste: Dark fruits, malt, slightly roasted. Caramel sweetness. Bought: Drinks of the World (Bern), 500 ml, CHF 10.50 Info: 17/2-2018, BB: 31/12-2025
3.8 Bottle. Amber, clear with a medium creamy white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and blue fruits. Sweet taste, light bitter with a good malt and caramel end. Chared with CH-303 on skype, feb. 17th, great fun!
4.0 Bottle, 0.33l. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, dark fruit, flowers, dust, wood and alcohol. Pours clear ruby brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with medium sweet and rich bready malt and caramel, follows by dried fruit and herbs, mouthfeel is warming alcoholic and mild spicy, while finish is heavy grassy and earthy bitter. Full body, thick texture and lively carbonation in palate. It's a reach and strong special occasion brew...
3.7 50cl Bottle @ Be Hoppy, Madrid, Spain. Amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, dark fruits, nuts. Taste is malt, caramel, raisins, toffee. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.6 Copper with an off white head that fades to a good coat. Fat malt with some toast, nuts and biscuit, a brandy-like whiff of booze, grapefruit. A little leaner than expected 3+ with a drying and quite bitter finish. Simpler than some years' -- or is it just that it's not quite ready?
3.8 26/VIII/17 - 50cl bottle @ RBBSG17 - BB: 2025 (2017-1350) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle! Clear orange to amber beer, small creamy yellowish head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, some honey, sugary, vanilla notes. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, malty, some honey, dried fruits, alcohol. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, malty, alcohol, milk chocolate, honey, dried fruits, caramel, lovely stuff. I like a good strong ale with some age on it.
3.5 (bottle, #103055) Hazy, dark amber colour with a beige and medium-sized frothy head. Bready malty aroma with notes of caramel, dried fruits, alcohol-soaked raisins and herbal hoppy spice in the background. Sweet flavor and slightly bitter, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Mildly earthy and delicately syrupy malty base with notes of dried figs, raisins, caramel and herbal hops; moderately sweet, fruity and caramelly finish with notes of booze shining through. 02.XI.17
4.4 Pours with thin lace. Clear and the coppery color is close to a perfect color for an ale. Aroma is rich but mild with typical ale maltiness as well as some red berries (rosehip, raspberry), some caramel. Nothing wrong with the aroma. Palate is slightly oily. Taste follows the aroma and there's sweet, but mild maltiness, faint crispy burnt/roast taste, rosehip hints, caramel becomes more pronounced in the aftertaste, some alcohol (but not too much). A very "sleek" ale with nothing wrong and very little to ask for more. I don't find it worth the price tag (2-3x more than cheaper, but still good strong ales). Reminds of a watery Rochefort a bit.
3.5 Pours deep amber, clear, with long lasting foamy off-white/beige head. Visually moderate high carbonation. Aroma: intense hop aroma, with citrusy, grapefruit like, spicy, flowery note, supported with tossted toffe, slightly caramel like malt notes. Flavor: gentle caramel, toffee, white bread like, slightly honey-ish malt backbone is perfectly balanced with hop flavors, with notes, mentioned above. Finish is spicy, citrusy bitter and slightly sticky. Hop bitterness is high and lingers thorough finish in aftertaste. Body is medium, texture is almost creamy smooth, carbonation is medium to high.
3.8 F: big, tan, average retention. C: dark coppery, hazy. A: malty, fruity, bit sourness, caramel, bit dried fruity, bit herbal. T: malty, caramel, herbal, grassy, touch of fruity sourness, bit citrus, dried fruits, bit nuts, sour fruity with malty sweet tones, quite good joined together, strong but relatively easy drinkable, medium to full body, low to medium carbonation, good, enjoyed, here in BE 7,5€ and in original Fullers shop already 16£, rate # 150 from England 0,5l bottle N° 076285, BB: end 2025, from Malt Attacks in Brussels.
3.4 500 ml. bottle shared @ RBBSG17. Clear orange, creamy off-white head. Nose is dull empty iron metallic caramel. Taste is bland metallic cereal, caramel, toffee, sweet herbs. Empty metallic caramel bodied. Very unexciting, I have no idea why I keep buying Fuller beers expecting to love them.
2.7 Sampled @ RBBSG 2017. Clear amber color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, caramel, raisins. Meh, not very good imo. Don’t like it.
3.8 50cl bottle #030779 from Waitrose, Bracknell. Rating #6500. A bright amber pour with a thin cream coloured head and moderate carbonation; aroma of burnt sugar; dry in the mouth with demarara sugar, butterscotch, boozy raisins and prunes, and a pleasant warmth; then some peppery hops adding a gentle bitterness to a caramel finish. Really good, seems like 18 months is a good length of time to keep these beers.
3.7 500ml bottle. Dark amber with a small off-white head. Malty, caramel, fruity, nutty and wood. Good.
3.7 Good size head rich orange pour medium carbonation aromas stone fruit dried fruit caramel toffee dark fruits the flavours stone fruit toffee bread caramel raisins plums currants very moist some dryness as well it is enjoyable but could be more richer with stronger malt lacks some body
3.4 Bottle at home. Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts with mild oakiness. Taste has sweet malts with caramel and oak. Pretty nice.
3.5 Bottle. Pours a pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel and dark fruit aroma. Fruity malty spicy caramel and dark fruit flavor with weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel finish.
3.5 Bottled 500ml (Alko web) Deep clear nut brown color, small off-white beige head. Nutty with toffee and madeira in the nose, some signs of age. Medium-bodied, mellow. Toffee, nutty maltyness, finish has decent spicey hops. Balanced. One of the better Vintages lately and probably after 1,5 years at its best.
4.1 Pours ruby colour with an offwhite head. Aroma is malty and fruity. Taste is slightly sweet with notes of malt, oranges, cherries, earthy hops. Like London Pride, but more. I wish I had bought more so I could try it after a few years.
3.0 [8738-20160924] 500mL bottle. Fruity malt grain aroma. Hazy, dark red amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Boozy dark fruit wood malt flavour has a long deep sweet finish. Medium-full body. Interesting but not enough of a fan of the style, personally. (7/3/5/3/12) 3.0-
3.9 2016 catch up - Malt, bitter hops and it tasted very alcoholic. I think it needs to be left for a while to soften. Not one that I particularly enjoyed, but I will stick the other bottle at the back of the cupboard for a couple of years and hope for the best. Bottle December 2017 - Now beautifully matured with a gloriously smooth mouthfeel and and perfect balance of malt, hops and alcohol. A very English beer, with perhaps a faint nod towards Belgium.
4.4 Bottle, best before end of 2025. Pours hazy orange red, plenty of foam and sticky lacing. Smells of caramel malt, has a fruity semi sweetness, a wee bit of butterscotch. Taste has the caramel, bread, hints of toffee, very light butterscotch, only a smidgen of the fruit I mentioned. Maybe not even there. High end of medium bodied, alcohol hidden well. This is great.
3.6 BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear copper, beige head. The aroma is malty, notes of fruity lollipop. The taste is still malty, fruity, already slightly jammy and oxidized. Subtle spicy warming alcohol and hop bitterness. Yeah, at only one year old it’s already getting some of that aged Vintage feel.
3.7 Bottle from Drinkshop. Very carefuly balanced malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness so that none of them has the upper hand. Even light light sourness, which just about adds to the complexity. Dried fruits are present and so are figues, biscuity caramelly maltiness. The hops support the malt throughout, while keeping mostly out of the spotlight. Relatively complex grassy earthy herbal hops character. Tasty beer, grows on me. Quite a good one.
3.7 Bottle from Gurthnar, many thanks. Amber color with medium white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nuts, raisins, figs. Taste, malt, caramel, nuts, raisins, figs, alcohol. Very good.
3.7 Butelka z numerem: #014148 AROMAT: Intensywny. Słodkie nuty karmelu, prażonych migdałów (ewentualnie marcepan) oraz miodu. W tle rodzynki oraz nuty alkoholu. SMAK: Słodkie, lecz nie nachalnie. Analogicznie do zapachu: karmel oraz migdały. Wysokie nasycenie. Alkohol jest tutaj bardzo dobrze wkomponowany. WYGLĄD: Barwa ciemnozłota, przechodząca w bursztyn, klarowne. Piana drobna, niska. OGÓLNIE:Mmm, zaskakująco dobre. Świetne do degustacji.
