Funky Buddha Blueberry Cobbler

Funky Buddha Blueberry Cobbler

This ain’t your grandma’s fizzy blueberry lager. Blueberry Cobbler is a copiously blueberried glass of goodness with real cinnamon and vanilla added. It’s purple, not because we add coloring, but because we use natural blueberries. So go ahead and sneak a slice. We won’t tell.

4.0 A liquid beer dessert, subtle sweet aroma with a bluish red hue for the appearance. Taste starts with a cobbler in the front followed by flavors of malt in the end. A great fruit summer beer to drink after a nice bbq dinner.
4.0 Pours a hazy coppery color with plenty of off-white head. Blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla, sweetness, and some biscuit notes, just like a cobbler; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes like a nice sweet piece of blueberry cobbler.
4.4 Bottle from a trade. Pours a deep copper, red hues, white head, that clings high on the glass walls. Nose is sweet, and spot on for a blueberry cobbler. It’s tastes the same way. Really quite incredible that a beer can taste and smell this way.
3.8 Draught @ Himmeriget, København Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, blueberry, spices, yeast and funk. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long funky, blueberry and yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
3.5 2015 BJCP Category: 29B Fruit & Spice Beer (base style: 18A Blonde Ale) AROMA: Sweet vanilla and cinnamon. Blueberry faint. No base brew aromas. 8/12 APPEARANCE: Lavender/indigo. Hazy body. Small, white foam mostly dissipates. 2/3 FLAVOR: General wheat beer up front quickly followed by blueberry cobbler flavors on second half. Palette is sweet - but reserved - with vanilla throughout and cinnamon on the finish. Blueberry is more of a background note, though completely authentic. No hops, though none needed. 15/20 MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body, though rather tepid. Texture is smooth but slightly watery. 3/5 OVERALL IMPRESSION: Tastes more like blueberry cereal than cobbler, though it is tasty. Would probably work better as a porter than a wheat brew. 7/10 TOTAL SCORE: 35/50 DISCLAIMER: The author is not a certified BJCP judge; therefore, this score sheet is not necessarily indicative of proper BJCP judging techniques and protocol. 3.9 On tap at South Street, Naples, Fl. Once again, Funk Buddah manages to make a fruit beer that isn’t just fruity, but also gets the "cobbler" right, too. Lots of blueberry, of course, but also cinnamon and graham cracker and pie crust. Really tasty.
4.0 Pours a hazy golden orange on tap with fluffy off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of fruity sweetness, a hint of graham cracker spiciness, and sweet malt. Taste follows, pretty dead on with flavor, rather impressed. Sweet, but definitely well done.
3.8 Cloudy dark orange with white head with light rose highlights. Aroma of blueberry pie filling, cinnamon and graham cracker and all that those ingredients imply. The flavor follows the aroma with a touch of tartness in the finish. Tasty stuff and a bit different for a change yet fairly simple and straightforward.
3.2 Distinct berry nose with maybe some spice (cinnamon)? Pours cloudy reddish with pinkish foam. The taste is remarkably like blueberry cobbler with a little bit of citrus. The taste is sweet but not unctuous. Moderately fizzy. The finish is also sweet but not sticky.
3.4 Pours a golden purplish color with minimal fizzy head. Aromas of berries, vanilla, and some cinnamon. Flavors are smooth vanilla berry with a light cinnamon tail.
3.4 Tap @ Himmeriget, Copenhagen 20160514. Fruity, funky and spicy with blueberries, sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is dry, fruity and funky.
4.4 Hazy golden / purple color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of blueberry, cinnamon, and pie crust. Taste of the same, with vanilla beans, more blueberry, and sweeter pie crust in the finish.
3.4 Tap@Himmeriget, Copenhagen (15/05/2016) - amber pour with white head. Aroma and taste is blueberry prominence, berry fruits, light spice, some vanilla nuance into the finish.
4.4 Draft at Bru Craft. Pours a very unusual cloudy pale dark pink/peach/magenta. Off-white foamy ring. Few spots of lace. Well, this beer ... is fantastic! Feels like Willy Wonka brewed this! Tastes just like a blueberry cobbler! Shockingly so! From the toasted crust to the deep baked blueberries. Works exactly perfectly! WTF! Complex and extraordinary!
4.7 Woooowwwww, bluebs cobbler to your dome! Pours light somewhat clear and a bit hazy deeper lilac. The aroma brings the cinnamon and some vanilla notes, sweet berries underlying. The flavor is perfect, cinnamon and blueberries and notes of nutmeg and pie crust, with a beautiful sweet coconut surprise on the backend, this beer doesn’t quit! As usual, Funky Buddha has perplexed me with how delicious they could make a beer based on my sweet tooth desires!! Respect! Coming this year before the end of 2016, my friends!
3.0 Tap @ Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen. Pours hazy golden with a creamy white head. Blueberries, funk and yeast. Mildly tart. Hmmhh.. again some spices..

2.8 Tap at Himmeriget, Copenhagen. Colour is reddish orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, berries, spices, some sweetness and malts.
3.8 12 oz. bottle thanks to jcwattsrugger in a trade. Color is a murky amber with no head. Aroma is quite nice: cinnamon, vanilla and just a hint of berry. Flavor has a huge cinnamon element right up front. The berry is here in a light manner; it finishes lightly on the vanilla. Medium body with a standard carbonation level. Just a mild tartness from the berries. This brewer pulls off another great flavor combination. Easy drinking.
3.4 Thanks cards04. Orange body some soapy lacing. Cinnamon apple pie aroma. Taste is sweet, a touch sweet and tart and faint bit of blueberry. Not bad.
3.7 1/29/16. On tap at World of Beer, Destin. Clear golden pour with a small off-white head. Awesome aroma, loads of cinnamon and vanilla, really smells like cobbler crumble, hint of blueberry. Lightly sweet flavor, cinnamon, vanilla, blueberry. Tasty stuff!
3.8 Draft: Poured a clear to orange with a white head. Vanilla and blueberry nose. Taste is nice mix of that vanilla and blueberry.
4.0 Bottle poured a clear purple amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of cookie, cinnamon, vanilla and blueberry. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of cookie, cinnamon, vanilla and blueberry with a crisp lingering blueberry cobbler finish.
3.8 Bottle thanks to Sean. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. Quite a nose with rich sweet spices and berries. I get way more spices in the flavor with big vanilla and sugary notes, some light berries. Quite good. Despite the size of the flavor it works well.
3.8 Bottle shared by "douglas88". Colour...light purple with no head. Nose...well what do you know! Blueberry cobbler! Palate...well what do you know! Blueberry cobbler! Thank goodness I like blueberry cobbler and all the spices that go with it.
