Funky Buddha Last Snow Porter

Funky Buddha Last Snow Porter

Last Snow is a version of our porter that is near and dear to our hearts. With flavors of coconut, coffee, and white chocolate, Last Snow tastes like liquid indulgency in a glass. Chocolate covered coconut never tasted so good!

3.7 Bottle:   Soft to moderate roast, clean, lots of coconut, almost to the point of being sunscreen tho.   Just wished it had a bit more sweetness.   Clean, very clean.   Lots of coconut on the nose as it warms.   Seems a touch of vanilla as well.   Smooth yet average body and mouthfeel.   Very well done Porter, but wished it were a bit more Porter and a little less on the coconut and vanilla.   Starts to feel a little artificial at times.   Thanks Matt!
3.5 Barwa ciemno-brunatna, piana skąpa. Aromat średnio-intensywny, lekka kawa i dość wyraźny kokos, w tle nuty czekolady. W smaku lekkie, rozwodniona kawa z posmakiem kokosa, w tle nuty czekolady.
4.5 Pitch black coloured body with a rich, super dense light brown head about three centimetres that leaves a very nice lace, but the black tint is fully opaque - very nice looking. Aroma of ridiculous amounts of coconuts, roasted malt, anise, oatmeal, lactose, cream, light fruits and a touch of alcohol - this stuff smells amazing, with a hint of vanilla noticeable as well. Full-bodied; Rich full flavour of coconuts, hazlenuts, earth, grain, vanilla, oak and a good deal of oatmeal and heavy roasted maltiness along with a good deal of anise and pure lactose and cream-based sweetness with a little dose of alcohol, but this is very nice and incredibly robust throughout. Aftertaste shows a great amalgamation of flavours with the coconut the strongest along with some vanilla and oakiness and a touch of the oatmeal and full roasted malt coupled with some peanuts and alcohol on the end. Overall, this one is simply amazing. The nuttiness, the full-bodied profile and the sheer amount of flavours make this seem more of an imperial stout more than a simple porter or even a sweet stout, but the alcohol is well tempered and the profile and complexity are great, especially for the style, but no matter which way you slice this, it's great! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Habersham Beverage Warehouse in Savannah, Georgia (Abercorn Street) on 04-May-2018 for US$3,38, which I thought was a lot at the time, sampled in my hotel room here in Atlanta, Georgia (BACK in this state for the second time this month!) on 26-May-2018 just more than three weeks after buying it!
3.5 Dark brown with khaki head, from the bottle. Nose and flavor are a little over top suntan-lotion coconut. Combined with a thin body it's not quite as awesome as I'd hoped. Still not bad, but not one I'll seek out again.
4.4 12 oz. bottle from Ridgewood Wine & Beer, Raleigh, NC. Dark brown pour with a foamy khaki head. Enticing aroma of dark chocolate, coconut, and mild coffee. Really nice flavor with chocolate, coconut, and coffee earning equal billing. The dark chocolate and coconut especially linger on the palate. Very nicely done.
4.4 Pours a dark brown to black with a khaki head. Aromas of coconut and more coconut. Like suntan lotion in a glass but in a good way. Coconut hits you first followed by chocolate, caramel, and coffee. Very well made porter. Very tasty.
4.2 12oz bottle from GT Package in Grovetown. Pours a very dark brown with a tan head leaving a lot of streaky lace. Aroma starts with big coconut. Then there is sweet caramelly malts and chocolate with a touch of vanilla. Down through the glass it becomes more vanilla nutty. Taste is of sweet malts, tangy coconut, bakers chocolate, and sweet vanilla, with some dark fruit. Fairly sweet, as the chocolate is not enough bitterness, but smooth & very tasty. Medium to full bodied, the blend is quite good and there is a touch of an alcohol presence. This is a very tasty, very interesting brew. It becomes too vanilla/coconut sweet after a while, but overall is very nice. 15.9
3.5 It's OK, but I really don't get the hype. The base beer does seem like an excellent porter - I'm curious if they have this base beer as regular old porter, cuz I'd like to try it if so. Coconut is true to aroma and flavor, blends in well, with weaker chocolate, and coffee weaker still. Good body, a nice light to medium mouthfeel, semi-sweet finish and low bitterness. Still coconut in beer isn't quite my thing, and though this may be the best example of it, I'm still not loving it.
3.9 Deep, black pour with thin beige head. Nose of sweet coconut and chocolate. Taste follows with a little bitter coffee flavor. Exceptionally well balanced and a great porter.
3.9 Pours black, with thick, beige head. Aroma is coconut, coffee and chocolate. Taste is chocolate and sweet caramel, moving to cafe leche and roast. Finish has a hint of roast, but is smooth and light. An excellent porter.
3.9 Sweet with coconut and white chocolate dominating, then faint coffee and nutty like hazelnut. Like a white chocolate Mounds bar.
4.0 Dark beer with a large foamy beige head. Big nose of coconut and chocolate. This is a rich porter with sweet coconut, chocolate, and a and some sweetened coffee. Really nice coconut beer.
3.8 Pushes my limits towards sweetness in a beer, but never passes them, instead offering up a silky, indulgent white chocolate-coconut-coffee beer that still remains moderately dry and porter-ish. White chocolate and coconut are apparent from the get-go and pick up steam as they roll across the palate. Undercurrents of espresso and dark fruits temper the candy leanings, while the back end dries out with a bitter mocha finish. Nose seems lacking, offering up notes of cardboard and candy, more like the box your sweetheart's chocolates came in. Pours a nice black with brown edges and a beige head that gives of moderate lace. Medium body and perky texture helps keep the pint from growing cloy. Tasty.
4.0 Yummy and easy going beer. Coconut fiesta in the nose and mouth. I need to add: I like omnipollos.
4.1 On tap at Grease Burger Bar, West Palm Beach, Florida. Dark brown to black. Absolutely wonderful! Roasted coconut, brown sugar, hazelnut, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee.
3.9 Tap, Hive. Dark brown, nearly black with a thin tan head. Toasted coconut aroma. Coconut, vanilla, dark malt, cocoa. Low carbonation. Creamy texture with a semi-sweet coconut finish. This is well balanced with coconut flavors throughout. Nicely done.
4.2 Strong coconut, dark chocolate aroma, total Mounds bar. Black, thin tan head, minimal lace. Coconut, caramel, charred oak, dark chocolate. Full body, moderate carbonation. Very special.
4.1 2018/02/17 - Pours dark brown/black with a cream, khaki coloured head that slowly reduces. Aroma is amazing; intense coconut, nutty notes (almond, hazelnut), light roasted coffee, chocolate and Irish cream liqueur. Taste follows nose; Irish cream liqueur, toasted coconut, coffee, hazelnut and chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a moderately sweet, smooth finish. Incredibly well balanced. So good.
4.2 This is a sweet beer, and sweet beers aren't typically my favorite, but this one is a very good one. It pours dark brown with a good deal of dark tan head. The aroma is fantastic. A lot of toasted coconut, but some of the coffee too. Some vanilla, some bready malt. The coffee is bigger on the flavor than the nose, and it blends really well with that coconut. This is a great dessert beer, or a solid nightcap.
4.1 Bottle to glass in Miami. Overt smooth coconut and moderate chocolate. Dark brown with full brown head. Flavor is smooth coconut and bakers chocolate. Smooth and tasty.
4.0 Bottle: Poured a black with tan head. Super coconut and malty aroma. Taste is Coffee coconuts and malty.
4.8 22 oz bottle. Near pitch black pour with a slight brown head. Aroma is rich with coconut, vanilla, black coffee, and sweet chocolate. Flavor contains all off these along with some additional roasty malts and molasses. Very silky, medium body. Really a top notch beer, pleasant experience.
4.5 Draft ikn Deland, Fl. Expensive but worth the purchase. Wonderful aroma. Coconut & coffee not overwhelming thankfully. Rich, full flavor
3.3 Bottle. Pours dark brown/black with a dark tan head. Massive coconut, milk choc aroma. Very sweet. It's all bounty bar, sweet milk chic and coconut. Too sickly sweet for my tastes.
4.0 Bottle, from Homer321 (thanks!), shared at game night. Rich chocolate and toasted coconut, coffee in a balanced package, silky smooth. Great use of adjuncts, delicious.
3.9 2016 bottling. Pours black. Tan head. Aroma is tons of coconut and chocolate, roasted coffee. Flavor is coconut and chocolate. Coffee. Not overly thin. Impressed.
4.4 Bottle thanks to Woodchopper on BA. Dark black pour, thick head and an aroma of coconut and chocolate. Flavor is also heavy creamy coconut, hints of coffee and chocolate throughout. Solid and perfectly balanced beer. Well done.
4.1 Tasting at Matt's Black color. Huge roasted coconut aroma, chocolate, tobacco; lovely. Soft mouthfeel, chocolate flavor explosion, roasted coconut. This is just great.
4.2 22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is loaded with a shitload of coconut upfront, followed by a hint of coconut and white chocolate. Flavour is like a baked dessert, with heaps of coconut upfront, followed by white chocolate and a hint of coffee. So coconut-y. Lovely.
