A dark rich beer that shows glints of red. The taste is clean, slightly sharp with a hint of blackcurrant.

3.4500ml bottle from Lidl. Dark brown with a thick off white head. Sweet malty aroma, flavour is rich malt, with some liquorice
3.3Cask at “Il Giro del Mondo in 50 Spine” Apr.2019, Xander Beer – Brescia.
Brown clear and limpid color, poor bubbly with beige and escaping head. Light malty and roasted aroma. Oily and watery texture, notes of chocolate, roasted, braced cereals, light alcoholic body.
1.9A tribute to Loch Fyne's famous fictional ship, Vital Spark fuses two worlds; a traditional rich, dark malt base charged with new world Amarillo and Cascade hops.
3.5Cask at craft beer co. Dark clear brown light brown head.very mild aroma, very nice flavor of roasted malts and licorice and faint charred wood.
3.2On cask at Fyne Ales Brewery. 1/3 pint on a paddle. Pours a amber maroon with a beige/white head. Aroma: biscuity malt, mild toffee, mild dried fruit notes. Taste: toffee, biscuity malt, raisins, mild berry, mild dr pepper flavours. Thin bodied. A bitter finish that lingers and dominates the backend of the palate. This was a good representation of the style but wasn't great.
3.5A bottled dark ale with a touch of coffee and aniseed. Pleasant but not overwhelming.
2.7Bottle. Started promisingly but taste not as good as aroma. Some good dark malt flavours but not well balanced by hops.
3.5Cask at the Star and Garter, Bromley. Chestnut brown pour with a beige head. Nose of orchard fruit, nuts, toffee. Lots more of the same in the flavour. Nice, easy going brew.
3.7Cask at the brewery, smallish creamy head, clear dark brown colour, aroma of dark bread, light aromatic coffee and cocoa, flavour of sweet dark chocolate with some charcoal and yeast and a hint of cake malt and vanila, light bitterness. Mellow and really enjoyable.
3.4Mahogany with off white head. Rich and warming caramel dark fruit ever so smooth
3.3Bottle, courtesy of LazyPyro. Thanks Chris. Light tan head on a dark brown body. Berries, light coffee, dark chocolate. Light sweetness, a bit toasty, light bitterness. Light body with fitting natural carbonation.
2.6Some leather and a little raw grain like chewin barley. A little astringent on finish. Cask at Churchkey.
2.9Cask @ Smithfield Market Tavern, Manchester. Clear brown with a small head. Has a rich tasting bitterness.

3.7Buona Ale ambra rossastra limpida ampia Schiuma beige fina. Aroma di malto e caramello, al palato base dolce e intenso amaro con lungo retrogusto erbaceo. Carbonazione medio bassa.
3.2Coca-cola complexion, thin head but decently persistent. Bread, earthy, something herby something hoppy in there too. Pretty subtle or watery depending on your beer philosophy.
3.5Smells of violets and lilac. Tastes grassy and floral. Interesting overall, but enjoyable, don’t get me wrong. Neither sweet nor bitter. Medium body.
3.0On cask. Pours dark brown-black with light beige head. Roasted malt with some coffee notes with dark fruit.
3.4I do like a good British dark ale. Dark brown with some ruby glints. Body is on the fuller side of medium and frothy. Full of roasted malts bringing molasses, digestive biscuit and nuts. Hedgerow flavours from the hops. Slightly soapy, otherwise great.
3.4Pours clear, ruby brown colour with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aroma is dark malt and dark fruit. Similar taste, some sweetness and roastiness in the malt, more dark fruit and a nuttiness. Mild bitterness in a slightly watery finish. Not bad.
3.6Cask. Small off-white head atop clear garnet body. Aroma is moderately sweet, currant, some caramel, light orange/earthy. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, light bread, currant. Light-medium body, light stickiness.
3.8Couple of pints at the Old Fox Felling. Russet Brown with a creamy off white head. Toffee aroma, fruit and nut toffee flavour, hint of overripe banana and farmyard. Creamy mouthfeel. Tasty..
4.1Draft at Churchkey. After a night of over the top hops, finishing with a "mild" malt bomb. How tasty! Dark brown, light bodied, huge frothy head (cask). Sweet nutty malts in both aroma and taste, silky smooth. This one’s all about the taste, pure and simple. Very simple, very tasty.
3.3Bottle from Ocado. Light brown/ruby, very translucent with a small off-white head. Light chocolate malt aroma with some toasty notes. Fresh sweet malty taste with a surprisingly dry finish. More chocolate and a hint of sarsaparilla in the aftertaste. Very basic stuff, although well made and refreshing.
3.7Hand pump at Ma Che in Rome-Italy. Dark cherry skin clear pour, frothy foam with reddish highlights. Nice. Nose: nice feel of English malts, red fruit, a bit roast and pinch of leather. Mouth: properly mild, medium roast malty a bit sweet in a clean and easy body, bitter finish cleaning the mouth!
3.4Tap, not cask, at Euston Tap. Black. Mild hop aroma. For a dark sour, this is surprisingly well hopped. Some roasted malt flavor and dry, bitter hops. It is bitter enough that it is not the most drinkable mild i have had, but i do like it.
3.2Cask. Appearance is very dark ruby, almost black. Aroma- dark fruit, Christmas cake, dark malts, slight roastiness. Taste- more dark fruit, coffee, malty, roast malt. Slightly watery towards the finish.
3.6Pint at the WIndsor. Faint aroma of smoke and coffee. Pours dark with a tight white head. Some roast on the taste, nice and dry. It’s nothing ground breaking but it is a damn good pint. Says "mild" as a style - nope. It’s a dark lager/stout crossover in my book. Like++
3.2Coca cola with tan head. Cappuchino aroma. Slight acidic, roasted coffee and earthy finish. Good!
3.6On Cask at the Tartan Tavern in Oban. Pours deep dark ruby brown with an off white head. Malty nose. Dark malts. Dark fruits. A nice Mild with a relatively full bitterness. Fruity. Rounded. Nice.
