4.2 Excellent imperial stout lager. Very strong and tasty.
3.8 330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 12.10.18 Pours an opaque very dark brown body, strained tan head. Grainy nutty toasty aroma upfront - cocoa, licorice, dark sugars & toffee, some dark fruits in the mix. Good texture - rich thick creamy lowish carbonation, good weight. Lovely rich sweet malt character on the body - milk chocolate, dark caramel, burnt toast, blackened nuts. Smooth finish, hints of dark plums & raisins. Damn good!
3.9 Chocolate, coffee, vanilla, caramel, raisins in nose. Pours very dark brown almost without a head. Taste is sweet with chocolate, coffee, vanilla, alcohol and caramel. Medium to low bitter finish, flat carbonation, full body. Overall very good stuff.
3.2 Z: mocno palone słody, rodzynki, karmel. S: słody, czekolada deserowa, intensywna palonosc wymieszaną że śliwką i rodzynka.

Not as roasty as the Imperial Stouts, not quite Bock-y either.
3.7 Mørk brun, nesten svart med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter engelsk lakris, mørk sjokolade og stenfrukter. Middels fylde. Noe mer salt lakris i smak. Søtlig maltig, kandis og lett brent karamell. Middels lang.
4.0 Proefglas op BXLBeerFest. U: Zwart met een licht bruine schuimkraag. G: Geroosterd, koffie en ook wat hoppig. S: Zoet gecombineerd met hop- en moutbitterheid. Geroosterd. Alcoholwarmte. M: Volmondig, medium carbonatie en licht sticky.
3.6 BXLBeerfest. Pours black with beige head. Aroma is booze, roast, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, heavy roast, caramel, malt. Finish is dry ashy bitter. Overall: good.
3.8 Donkerbruin tot zwart bier met rijkelijk beige schuimkraag. Geur: geroosterde mout, fruit, sinaasappelschil. Smaak: zoet, hopbitter en een klein zuurtje. Volmondig en wat plakkerig. Fijne koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: licht zoetbitter en wat alcoholisch. Bottom-fermented? Wauw, chapeau dan!
3.0 330ml bottle BB 12 Oct 2018. Impenetrable black with small creamy tan head. Aromas of licorice, treacle, figs, dates, some alcohol. The taste has loads of molasses, dates, roastiness, a little chocolate & sherry, plenty of warming alcohol. Full bodied but a bit of a harsh finish. I think this would’ve had more roundness with an ale yeast. Some good notes but a bit disappointing.
4.0 Bottle. Very dark brown in color with a creamy tan head. Aroma is roasted grains. Taste is roasted grains. Really enjoyed this one.
3.9 Keg at Churchkey. Dark brown, thin head, poor retention. Aroma of toffee, caramel, raisin, vanilla. Taste is raisin, caramel, anise, booze, vanilla. Medium bodied.
4.1 Drank with Patrick, Rik and Lennart @ Piet Huisman 28-7-17. Nice stout. Interesting, good taste. Well-balanced and rich.
3.5 330ml bottle pours opaque brown with no head. Aromas of stone fruit, milk chocolate, leather and alcohol. Tastes of prunes, raisins, sherry, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, ash and bourbon. Almost no carbonation. Long finish with a good whack of expresso bitterness and some herbal characters. Big alc vol at 11.9% but it seems to work for this beer.
4.7 33 cl. bottle bb 31 Mei 2018. Deep brown-black with a thin but enduring disc of creamy foam. Aroma of dates, molasses, chocolate, fig and maybe a whiff of soy, Flavor is all that plus a dab of sour cream, lightly prickly green herb, blackberry, a bit of citrus zest and then some cured tobacco in the finish. Dangerously drinkable balance with no hint of the huge abv. Medium-heavy mouthfeel with low-medium carbonation is silky smooth. Best and only (as far as I know) Imperial Stout Lager I ever imbibed. Next ISL I find has a lot to live up to.
2.8 From a 330ml bottle on 1//2017. Pours a very dark browm with no head. The nose features some caramel, basement and a whiff of booze. The taste features caramel, soy , fermented dark fruit, lots of licorice. There is some sweetness up front but that’s quickly smashed by a burnt, charred, slightly peppery and quite severe bitterness, which features alcoholic burn. The texture is slick and the carbonation soft.Somewhat harsh and unbalanced.
3.8 Roasted chocolate and molases; same in the taste with hint of licorice. Everything is much more subtle then typical imperial stout.
3.7 Butelka 0,33l. Aromat czekolady mlecznej, pralin, owoców. W smaku dosc slodko, czekoladowo. Zaznaczona goryczka, gladkie.
3.3 Zwart bier zonder schuim. Smaak is krachtig en licht zoet met iets van rook, druiven en cognac.
3.7 Not much head mild carbonation dark pour aromas caramel chocolate nut dark fruit the flavours caramel chocolate plum raisins date fig coffee strong alcohol note but flavours out do it delicious stout mild bitter smooth very smooth
4.0 330ml bottle. Pours jet black with a small head. Aroma is heavy, black treacle, molasses, raisin and prunes. Taste is a bit muted, treacle and molasses. Some burnt toffee. Drinks below its strength.
3.7 Draught @ 8th. BBF 2016 [ 8th Borefts Beer Festival 2016 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As Gänstaller Bräu Schwarze 90 ]. Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, dark malt, sugary, caramel light roasted, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, sugary, dark malt, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160923] 7-4-8-3-15
3.4 Bottle from Drinkshop. No head, almost no carbonation. Slightly hazy very dark colour. I expected the beer to be a bit more lively, since it is freshly acquired, with a whole year left before expiration date. The flavours are rich and intense though - chocolate, deep roast, toffee, dried fruits. Slightly grassy finish, feeling a bit particulate. All in all the beer is good, but that about cuts it.
3.9 Bottle. Dark brown with a small beige head that gathers it self into a coat. Aroma of roasted malt, Dutch licorice, some molasses, hints of cocoa. Very low carbonation, remarkable creamy texture. Very sweet with more chocolate than suggested by the aroma. Roasty with salted caramel and/or licorice. Pears. Bitterness is sufficient to choke off the sweetness. The alcohol is mostly integrated but sticks out a bit at the end. Fair to say it drinks its weight. Not a dessert stout, although you could drink it with for/with. Owes a bit to De Molen and a bit to Courage, but is its own thing. Very good, really interesting.

4.1 Pitch black, almost no head. Burning alcohol, lots of cocoa and chocolate, some brown sugar. Taste is also dark chocolate, cocoa, warming alcohol notes, some coffee, lots of licorice.
