Galway Bay Buried At Sea

Galway Bay Buried At Sea

Keg, can and bottle
"Milk Stout"

Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Lactose 9% (milk), Yeast.

Was previously at 4.3% and described as a "Milk Chocolate Stout":

Taste of Chocolate and smooth mouthfeel, due to the additions of Dark Chocolate and Milk Sugars (Lactose) respectively. While dark, rich and decadent this beer finds balance and subtlety in its lightness and drinkability. Great for matching with sweeter dishes and intense desserts.

Speciality Malts - Oats, Munich, Chocolate, Crystal, Roast Barley
Hops (32 IBU) - Magnum, Cascade

Bof !
3.1 Thin lasting tan head. Slightly treacly aroma. A little carbonated and metallic on the tongue. Lingering milkiness with a bitter aftertaste
3.6 A strong smell of roasted malt, chocolate. The small beige creamy head disappears rather fast, the body is black. A quite malty taste, chocolate and cacao, light bitter. The body is medium strong, creamy and oily with a soft carbonation.
3.3 Can from Beer52. Brown-black with a beige head. Full-bodied, but a rather powdery mouthfeel. Nice coffee aroma. Initial taste was of burnt malt and liquorice, neither of which are flavours I like. Got better with sweet black coffee, chocolate and just a little blackcurrant coming through. It finishes dry and with a touch of the burnt malt bitterness returning. Just a little too burnt for my liking, but otherwise decent.
4.2 Colore in stile. Carbonazione presente non eccessiva. Schiuma color crema abbastanza persistente.
3.3 Can, from Beer52. Jet black fluffy but short lived beige head and low condition. Soft, sweet and roasted barley nose with hints of coffee and blackcurrant. Gentle bitter roasted barley and coffee beans, a slightly sweet lactose note and a muted fruitiness in the mouth. Finish is dry and roasted with some more coffee beans and a fruity liquorice note but turns quite bitter at the end.
3.5 A decent stout
3.6 Pours tarry black, tan head. Aroma is ash, a little dark chocolate, a little smoke. Big, bold ash flavour, some sweetness, a little bitter and a strange acrid but not unpleasant finish. Strangely attractive beer.
3.7 [33cl can from Beer52.] A glossy black pour with a fast fading beige head; sweet chocolatey aroma; immediately bitter in the mouth with deeply roasted grains; and a tarry charred finish. Quite austere.
3.9 Beer 52. Milk smooth not too bitter. Easy drinking. Good
3.4 Can. Black-dark brown pour, minimal tan head. Chocolate, dark malts, some woodiness and caramel. Mild coffee, smooth finish. Easy drinking stout, with pleasant, subdued (not necessarily in a bad way) flavours.
3.6 Black with a huge, but fast-settling, tan foam and aromas of dark chocolate, wood ash and a little tobacco. Smooth and sweetish, a little creamy and sticky, a touch of treacle and then a burnt-bitter and dry cocoa finish.
3.4 Can from Beer 52. Dark pour with head quickly gone, some chocolate, dry finish. Decent.
3.4 Rami Rami is drinking a Buried At Sea by Galway Bay Brewery at Chmielarnia Marszałkowska Ma teoche ciala, jest dosc intensywne imslodkie, kawoczeko, nic specjalnego ale sympatyczne. Troszke dziwne cialo, jak z talkiem
3.4 Taki sobie stoucik, pijalny i bez wad, poza niejaką nijakością. Zawszeć to lepsze niż Guinness.
Hints of chocolate and coffee. Sweet and pleasurable, maybe a bit too sweet? A good one if you're trying stouts for the first time. Genuinely enjoyed dark roast flavor followed by milky sweetness.
3.7 Black with thin tan head Aroma is roasty with dark chocolate notes Flava is sweet and then roasty Feels medium and silky Finishes roasty tangy moderately bitter
3.8 (On tap) Black with dense tan head. Excellent aroma - toasty, chocolate, wood smoke. Medium Bodied, smooth, gentle soft carbonation. Great taste, beautifully balanced. There’s plenty of roast and toasty notes. There’s some subtle dark toffee sweetness. The are some woody and smoky notes. Very good
3.6 On tap. Pours black with a thick tan nitro head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate malt, mild roasted coffee. Flavor of lots of roasted malt, roasted coffee beans, chocolate malt. Nice and roasty, creamy mouthfeel. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)
3.3 On tap at The Salt House (Galway, Ireland). Pours a black body with brownish glints and a thin, beige foamy head. Good malty aroma with roasty hints. Its good malty taste carries roasty, hoppy, and smokey notes. Ends with a decent bitter/roasty finish.
3.4 Bottle 0,33 ltr: Opaque black coloured brew with an slightly sweet bitter taste, hints of roasted malts, chocolate and lactose.
3.6 tap@ Oslo bar Galway Donker, cremige kraag. Ruikt naar gebrande mout. Smaakt idem, melkachtig. Bitterzoet.
4.1 Refreshing stout that is easy drink. Has a nice aroma with no after taste. Very enjoyable!
3.8 Lots of smoke in aroma and taste. Chocolate and milky notes are other players in this straight forward and very soft stout.
3.5 Tap at Salt House in Galway. Dark nitro pour. Lots of milk chocolate. Pretty solid.
4.8 Ottima Stout, tendente al dolce
