Garage Project Hāpi Daze

Garage Project Hāpi Daze

Hāpi, the Maori word for hop, inspires this truly Pacific pale ale. Brewed with New Zealand barley and the best of the Kiwi hop harvest, Motueka, Wai-iti, Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin. Assertively Hoppy - exceptionally drinkable.
Sessionble in strength, bright golden in colour and loaded with generous quantities of aromatic New Zealand hops. Very friendly indeed.

3.2 330ml can with a beautiful design. Into a schooner it goes! Nose is earthy, fruity, peppery, touch of umami. Hazy golden beer with a solid frothy white head and a murmuration of tiny bubbles. light patchy lacing. Softly carbonated with a fruity bitter finish with finishes with Juicy Fruit. Nice easy-drinking pale ale, light and delicious.
3.5 (Can) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with apricots, orange, passion-fruit, mango, honey, gooseberries and pine needles. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of apricots, passion-fruit, orange peel, mango, grapefruit, pine needles and a generous citric/tropical bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Fresh and tasty with lots of fresh tropical hops, highly drinkable. Nice one.
3.4 Can on Waiheke NZ. Pours deep orange, off white head. Aroma is white grape, caramel, peach, sugary malt. Flavor is fuzzy grape, berry, caramel, bitters, bready toasted malt. Medium bodied lightly malty / lightly fruity pale
3.4 Beer with gold color, medium bitterness, medium body, soft carbonized, some foam, (bought a 33cl can at New World supermarket, Hamilton, NZ #652)(#10 NZ).
3.4 330 ml can poured into a tulip glass. The brew appears a hazy amber golden shade, with some transient white froth. Aromas are muted and subtle, initially hoppy, with grape and melon over floral hops, followed by malty grain. Taste is similarly muted and subtle, again lightly sweet with melons, followed by a light bitter. Crisp and refreshing, dye in no small part to the carbonation, light to medium bodied.
4.6 Cans from Coach House In Ballarat. Golden with a nice nearly creamy head. Tropical fruity taste and aroma with a slight bitter finish. Thanks for the magnificently drinkable beer from the Garage Project people in NZ.
4.4 Growler from Fitzroy Liquorland. Pours a hazy, dark gold colour with a big fluffy head. Aroma is very hoppy, quite fresh - not dank, some pineapple and orange. Flavour is delicious - beautiful, clean hop character. Nicely balanced. Minimal maltiness. Nice body, low to medium bitterness. Doesnt linger too long. Super refreshing and tasty. Punches above its weight for a 4.6% abv.
3.4 Fairly restrained really. Floral and tropical hops aroma and flavours. Stone fruit and grass. Very drinkable. Crisp and refreshing.
3.8 330 ml can at abv 4.8% bought at YATA in YOHO Mall, Yuen Long. Looks: Clear golden honey colour; One finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 2 minutes; Excellent sticky lacing with active slight carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant and fruity Ale malt, with strong white grapes, passion fruits, gooseberry, strong citrus, floral, light sugar, biscuits, lemon, and grass. Taste: Close to light sweet Ale malt, with light grains, grapefruits, white grapes, melon, floral, light sugar, spices, dry biscuits, lime, fair bitter hops and grass. Body: Close to medium body. Quite slick palate. Mouth Feel: Pretty good Ale maltyness in a slightly thinned but very slick background. Strong Nelson Sauvin influence as in white grapes and melon with moderate grapefruits. Also strong Motueka with notable citrus. Flowery with fair sweetness, light spicy, dry biscuity with fair lime to round. Pleasing! Hoppiness: Strong white grapes, passion fruits, gooseberry, citrus, floral, lemon and grass in nose. Grapefruits, white grapes, melon, floral, spices, lime and grass in taste; Bitterness is fairly strong for a lasting, medium astringent sweet-bitter fruity malty finish. After Taste: Fairly dry. Viney citrusy and fairly bitter to mouth. Comments: This one focus is Nelson Sauvin (grapes and melon) on aroma, and Motueka (citrus and lime) on taste. Somewhere between a APA and Session IPA, not as bitter but certainly on the fullfilling side. Good stuff!
4.0 0,3 litre Can from Systembolaget Charlottenberg. Golden with white head. Malts, hops and Tropical aroma and taste. Nice
3.7 4.6%ABV. IPA. Poured out golden amber. 12 SRM. Nose has fresh pine and grapefruit peel. Mouthfeel is light soapy. Palate has wheat toast solidity. Hop flavors are spicy with pepper leaf and cilantro near the middle and back. There is grapefruit peel and citrus oil on the front. Hint of old socks throughout the palate. Finish is medium and grapefruit peel bitter.
3.3 From can at Sasquatch Bar. Pours cloudy amber with white frothy head that laced nicely. Fruity hop and ale yeast aroma with modest bitter finish. Refreshing
2.9 A bit milder than the average Project beer. Slightly dusty aroma with some lemon and grapefruit. Initial impression is it is a bit thin with some almost grainy malt. Finish is solid hops with a slightly harsh twang.
3.8 Hazy golden to amber, medium white head, some lacing. Aroma is mango and passion fruit. Medium body with nice carbonation, taste is strong on hops (lots of mango and passion fruit, citrus, resin) on top of a good malty backbone, with caramel and bread. Medium bitter, the fruitiness is lingering and gets tart notes. Very nice APA.
3.8 330ml can Golden amber color with great head. Pine resin/grapefruit aroma. Medium bitterness with slight malt/hop notes, clean palate and hoppy tang to finish. Very nice.
3.1 Pours clear golden. Citrus, pine, grassy aroma. Light bodied. Slightly watery.
3.6 En trevlig apa som väl passar in i smakidealet. Inte exceptionell, utan snarare bara gott hantverk.
3.2 330mL can. BB 08/12/16 Hazy pale gold body, fluffy white foam. Grainy, toast malts, spicy herbal & tropical fruit hop on nose; subtle nose. Medium body, nice creamy sort of texture. Opens out a bit more on the palate - nice cereal, toasted bread crust sort of malt going on, spicy grassy hops take a slight backseat but good balance. Past its best but an enjoyable brew.
3.7 On draught. The beer is golden. Tastes crisp and grasslike. A bit of fresh pineapple but with the crispest finish of any pale ale i have had in a while.
3.7 Pours a slightly cloudy golden colour with a large off white head . Unfortunately the large head disappears quickly in the heat of the day. Only light carbonation here , but that’s ok Slightly floral when 1st poured cold but A touch of grass and dried apricots on the nose develops On the palette, an initial touch of peach with even a hint of raspberry/ blackberry which is followed up with pine and grapefruit as the glass developed. Another top beer from the Garage crew
3.5 Golden with a white head - Fruity hop aroma - Malt body with a good fruity hop profile - The hops goes into the finish with some bitterness - This was nice

3.8 330ml can. Quite hoppy, with a slightly soapy melon aroma. Flavour also lots of melon, tropical fruits, little floral notes. Nice.
3.3 Can @ home. Clear golden to amber. Aroma is dry slightly malty with peach, pine oil, mango. Low to medium body. Balanced bitter and semi dry taste. Taste is similar to aroma.
