Gaverhopke Zingende Blondine (Singing Blonde)

Gaverhopke Zingende Blondine (Singing Blonde)

Traditional blond beer of high fermentation.
(from 2021 label)

(from http://www.tgaverhopke.be/Main-EN.html)

This is a golden blond 9.8% clear beer with a thick white head. The foam is nicely sticky to the wall, with a fine carbonation. The first taste is sweet, but you soon notice a hint of ginger.

3.4 Pours a hazy, milky gold with a thick white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, earth and funk. Taste is earthy, sweet candy sugar, banana esters and toffee.
3.2 On tap @ Zythos Treviso. ambrata, opalescente, riflessi aranciati,m schiuma beige chiaro, fine persistente. Abbastanza equilibrata. Armonica
3.2 Orange, amber, leuchtend. In der Nase hefig, Candy, Kandiszucker, Alkohol. Am Gaumen Kandiszucker, elicht pappig, Cidersäure, minimal seifig, hefig, etwas dünn, leicht trocken.
4.1 330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 12/2014. Highly carbonated gusher upon opening. Pours murky bright orange color with a 3 finger fluffy off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, lime, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, candi sugar, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and light pale malt notes; with good strength. Very bright aromas. Taste of big lemon, lime, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, candi sugar, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, orange peel, pear, apple, pepper, candi sugar, light honey, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nicely dry finish. Damn nice complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and light pale malt flavors; with a great crisp malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very high carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and foamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian strong pale ale. All around great complexity and balance of bright fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and light pale malt flavors; and extremely smooth and crisp to sip on for the high ABV. With the combination of the difficult over carbonated pour and murky appearance, I was expecting this to taste old and malty; but it tasted spot on. A very enjoyable offering.
3.2 Blonde ale since 2009, referring to Mrs. Vandoorne who took over the brewery the year before. Snow white, creamy head, old gold colour with orangey glow, clear with fierce sparkling. Aroma of honey, young cheese, peach, butter, pineapple, caramel, apricot; sweetish taste, subdued fruitiness, applish and somewhat honeyish, supple and soft mouthfeel, flowery hops in the finish but not enough bitter to balance out the initial sweetness as well as a glow of warming, white port-like alcohol. Also tasted as a two years vintage bottle (shared with Craftmember), in which it showed a sourish quality, not unlike unripe gooseberry and a bit lemon, not unpleasant, let’s say a ’happy infection’...
1.2 Gusher!!! Pale golden, white foam. Scent of yeast. Overcarbonated killing mouthfeel. Yeast again.
3.2 light sweet aroma, amber, cloudy, off white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, bitter, long finish,
3.3 Light amber and unclear. Has a white head, medium duration. Aroma is heavy sweet, malty and with notes of yeast. Flavor is heavy sweet too, honey, dry cocoa in the finish.
3.4 Strong Belgian blond beer, with a body of sweet fruity yeast, some aroma hops and lots of added fruitiness. Nice beer.
3.3 Hazy light golden color with small white soapy head. Nose is fruity with aromas of yeast and malt. Taste is sweet with flavours of bubblegum and a very light bitterness. Light bready aftertaste. For a 9,5 % tripel beer, this one drinks dangerously easy. I like it!
3.1 33cl bottle from Delhaize. Hazy yellow/orange with some yeast flocks with a full white head. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Sweet and bitter. Grass, yeast, citrus and herbs. An ok Belgian brew.
3.0 Good not great. Aroma is lite white wine and citrus. Bright yellow color with a medium white head. Wihite wine flavors, citrus and tart.
1.8 Gullig grumset med mange gærrester liggende i lag. Let hvidt blivende skum. Næsen er sødlig med lidt jern. Smagen starter frisk, men går hurtig over i kvalmende sødme. Ikke lige mig.
3.0 Bottle: Past BB: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized white oamy head on top of a cloudy yellow colored beer. Aromas of fruits, berries, raspberries, dried peach, earthy tones, some flowers, yeast, stone and cactus. Flavours of grains, oat, grapes, yeast, cardboard, bitter, soap, flowers, some malts, herbs and some plant ish tones. Aftertaste is bitter, grainy, malty, some fruit, cardboard and yeast. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a creamy texture.
3.8 Full bodied specialty beer with a sweet onset and a lightly bitter end. With refermentation in the bottle.. Nice taste ..
3.3 On tap at mekong on 05/18/2011. Slightly hazy golden amber body with a medium frothy off white head. Sweet fruit, caramel and candi sugar aroma. Sweet fruit flavor, some caramel and lots of candi sugar. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.
2.9 330 ml bottle, when opened it foamed. It poured cloudy and golden with a thick head. Aroma was sweet and fruity with a hint of ripe fruits. Taste is of grass and citrus. A long finish. Overall average strong ale.
3.0 Appearance: opaque orange with golden edges; short, fizzy bright white head that quickly vanishes, leaving a thin collar and smattering of bubbles. Aroma: white wine, champagne, green apples, banana, grapefruit, pineapple, marmalade. Taste: sour and funky, with citrus, tart green apples, a hint of honey, hint of gym socks, lemon zest. Finish: very tart and dry, to the point where my throat constricts, only to be loosened by a slow-building and subtle (for a 10% beer) alcohol burn. Notes: Interesting. Almost like a the sour, tart Petrus Aged Pale Ale mixed with a Gulden Draak or something. A little more sour and tart than expected, but not terrible.
3.2 330ml bottle from Good Beer. Pours a clear, dark golden color with a minimal effervescent white head that dissapates quickly. Aroma of sweet malts, light sourness, and some spicy and yeasty notes. Taste is light honey, bread, sweet fruit (apples and grapes) with some sour notes that are part vinous and part vinegar. Sweet fruity malty finish with touches of honey and lemon. A bit too sweet.
1.9 Bottle at home. Clear golden pour, no head. Aroma of sour apple, some alcoholic malty sugars and slightly dusty. Flavor is sweetish, spicy, alcoholic, some cider and murky sourness. Quite off balance and too strong. Almost like a malt liquor. Not my kind of brew.
3.4 Hazy dark blond colour. Fruity nose, bitter beer with sour hints. Notes of unripe fruit.
3.7 11.2 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy light straw color with a thin white head of foam. Aroma is lightly floral, estery, and somewhat bretty. Taste has a light, fizzy tartness, somewhat like orval. There’s some sweetness to even things out. I really enjoyed this beer. I could see myself getting it again.
3.1 Poured from 330 ml bottle after cellaring for 9 months. Cloudy bright amber with a lot of sediment, both suspended and collected at the bottom. The bottle erupted foam immediately and continued to spew until poured into a glass. Once in the glass, it yielded a 2-finger creamy-yellow head and fairly good lacing. Aroma of lemon, apple cider, yeast, light bread and sour grapes. Taste of yeast, spice, sour light fruit, cherry, grapes, pears and apple cider just when it's started to turn. Light/medium body and high/medium carbonization.
3.8 A hazy, lively strong blond ale with sweetness getting checked by an acidic tang. Very interesting and leaving me to fervently hope that they did it like that on purpose. Nose of honey, lemon and not-quite-ripe pineapple. Acidity leaves it dangerous and drinkable at that absurd strength.
2.9 On tap at BBF. Amber with white head. Fruit and yeast aromas. Fruity and sweet taste. A little acid.
3.2 33cl bottle. Hazy yellow with small head. Nose : apricot, banana, apple and pear. Tart and spices. Orange peel. Sip : thick and smooth, tingling carbonation. Sweet like a fanta. Esters are really fruity. It got tart flavour with jelly and fruits. Short finish. Strong alcohol content is well hidden but the beer is heavy to drink.
3.6 Draft at Farmers Cabinet. Hazy amber pour with a slight foam head. Juicy floral blonde. Straw. Apricots. Dry golden grapes. Vanilla caramel. Medium body. Slight sour funk. Fragrant juicy golden blonde.
