Georgetown Manny's Pale Ale

Georgetown Manny's Pale Ale

A careful selection of Northwest hops, premium barley, and our unique yeast give this ale a rich and complex malty middle with a snappy hop finish. Crisp, clean and smooth with hints of citrus and fruit.

3.1 Draft. Pale amber in colour with medium carbonation. Old school APA aromas of grapefruit, pale malt, and caramel, but manages to avoid smelling like sweet tea like some of them do. Flavors are of citrus jelly, dry malt, oatmeal, and wet stones. Moderate bitterness, and medium bodied. Serviceable, but unremarkable.
3.8 Hazy dark orange colour, small white head. Aroma of citrus, malt, fruits, piny hops. Dry taste with mildly bitter hoppy finish. Nice ale.
2.1 Light amber pour, nice head and lacing. Not much nose at all. What’s there is stale biscuit, almost tinny. Flavor shows some hip character, but it fades quickly. Bit of herb, grassy, then bland malt. Slick finish with nothing else.
3.1 Pint at Shuckers. Pours light amber, rapidly disappearing white head. Soft carbonation. It’s light generally. Crisp, dry, hints of hops and citrus but it’s all a little lightweight for me. Quaffable mind.
3.5 Hazy copper with a white head. Light citrus and toasted malt profile. Medium bodied. Simple but tasty.
3.1 Tap at Cooper’s, Seattle. Cloudy golden. Aroma is hoppy, citrusy. Flavor is light sweetness, mildly caramel and malt. Medium bodied. Okay one.
3.1 On tap at Von’s Seattle. Crisp finish, fruity but not overly hopped, easy to drink this is a well made beer.
2.3 Draught pour @ SeaTac Seattle Taproom. Pours a cloudy golden orange. Nose is... well bland? Flavour is pretty much the same, there really isn’t much here but a slight hoppyness.
2.9 On tap in Cactus in Seattle. Looked like a pale ale, perhaps deeper in colour than many pale ales in the region. Rather wishy washy unfortunately, lacking definition in malt or hops and just a bit bland. Perfectly drinkable and pleasant but felt like it has been left behind by more modern pale ale recipes.
3.0 Draft at The Irishmen in Everett Wa. A non description but we’ll made and tasty pale ale. The grain bill is savory with a slight toastiness. Slight piney hops. Not bad.
4.4 This is a well balanced pale ale. It is slightly darker and and has a stronger malty flavor than most Northwest pales. The hops are not overbearing, making this beer a good choice when sharing a pitcher with friends.
3.3 On tap. Pours a cloudy tan with a creamy sand head and good lacing. Aroma is of wood, straw, milk, and light citrus. Very similar flavors to the aroma accompany a particularly creamy mouth feel. Taste is slightly dull. A little funky on the aftertaste but overall pretty good.
3.4 Draft. Pours opaque amber with a fizzy beige head. Tastes like Ike grapefruit hops, orange, pale malts, and some caramel. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like grapefruit hops, orange, pale malts, and some caramel
3.6 Rating #1903 - 2015.09.24 - #CraftTakesSeattle Beer 1 - On tap at the Crab Pot, Seattle. Reddish amber pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is sweet lemony, mild grassiness.Taste is a blast of citrusy sweetness, tempered by a decent punch of Centennial bitterness. A decent APA.
3.5 Keg at Beer Zen’s backyard party. Rich Amber pour, biscuity malt, fruit and pine aroma. Relatively simple flavour of earthy malt with ample hopping, clean piney finish. Great for a day in the sun for something quenching with a little bite.
3.0 Agreed that this is rather a mediocre pale ale. Very grassy, with little of the hops character--either citrus or piney-spruce--that one might expect. Rather a disappointment.
3.4 On draft at space needle: smooth, bitter burst of flavor followed by subtle woody undertones. Very unique taste.
3.0 Mediocre pale ale. Mild and forgettable. Golden, light grassy hops, caramel malts. Tried with Win, Josh, and Al in Seattle, 2016.
3.4 Draft at Smarty Pants underneath the Boeing airport approach. Cloudy bronze color with a thin khaki head and bubbly carbonation. The aroma is nicely balanced sweet malt and wet, earthy hops. Pleasant flavor that is heavy citrus with some light bitterness in the finish. Refreshing and enjoyable.
3.5 From Tap to taster’s glass, Appearance: Pours light amber/dark yellow Aroma: slightly aromatic- smell of hops Taste: Balance bitter Mouth Feel: fizzy Overall: Very good beer, excellent for the price
2.8 Mostly tangy mash malt here. Pours hazy golden with ok head. Light citrus. Not a huge amount to this. Tangy finish. Tap at Seattle Taproom in SEATAC.
3.3 Not bad, not great. Just a blue collar pale ale done well. Slightly citrus hops, bready yeast, and light malt body.
4.0 Draught at Zero Zero, San Francisco. Cloudy amber colour, slim offwhite head. Tropical fruity (!) hops with mango, some pineapple, sweet malty base. Nicely balanced bitterness in the finish. Good body, low carbonation, oily mouthfeel.
3.4 Draught at Ernest Loves Agnes, 11/2/15. The best appearance, by far, of the three I had that night (Seahops, Kulshan, this). Obviously unfiltered, yet bright, with a copper-golden body and a very well-retained white head. This seemed to have been a very popular beer around town and for good reason. It’s assertively hoppy, yet not obnoxiously bitter. The malt balanced nicely with plentiful toasted grain/sourdough as well as honey and light caramel. Nothing fancy on the hops, just a pretty straightforward citrus character with light pine accents. Very light hint of tropical fruit in the nose. Towards the end of the glass, the malt wore on me a bit too much, adding too much toasted character, which exacerbated the hop acidity, somewhat unbalancing the beer flavorwise. The mouthfeel was spectacular, however, with tight, appropriate carbonation and a malty, supple texture.
3.6 Hazy reddish copper color with frothy head. Spicy NW hop aroma. Taste- smooth easy drinking pale ale. Moderately hopped with spicy NW hop flavors. Solid APA.
3.0 Draft. Small off-white head atop hazy dark amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, some bread, light grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, light bread. Light-medium body.
3.0 Purchased on tap at a bar. Hazy yellow color with a good amount of head. Citrus aromas.
3.0 Nice hoppy finish for a pale ale. Tastes to me like a starter ipa. Malty start light citrus.
3.2 Aroma: grain malts, floral hops, earthy notes, minerals, light citrus. Appearance: hazy gold, small, white, creamy head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: fruity, some caramel, light bitters coming up with floral hops and citrus fruits. Overall: OK Pale Ale, quite light. Pint at Taphouse Grill Downtown, Seattle, WA.
3.2 On tap at the Inter Bay golf course. Pours a near clear amber with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has resin and pine with a strong sweet grain and toffee backbone. Flavor is similar with caramel and sweet grains up front with a grass and resin backbone.
