3.1 bottle. Aroma: Some fruitty esters, light biscuit, light hoppy. Medium-light body, sweet, malty, light bitterness. Refreshing
2.2 330 ml bottle. Pours with a clear golden color and a small white head, which disappears very quickly. Nose is grassy and grainy, some malts. Taste is surprisingly crisp, more bitter-hoppy than other Kölsch.
2.8 Bouteille(Getränke Schneider, Cologne); Golden, clear, stable creamy and lacy white head, visible carbonation; mild grainy and sourish-fruity nose with an illusion of cooked vegetables; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour with a slight (fruity) acidity, no infection at all; light bodied and fizzy; lingering fruity and mildly bitter finish. Not demanding, but refreshing...
3.5 Mooi helder goudgeel bier, fijne witte parelende schuimkraag.
2.8 0.5 l bottle from a local Kiosk, best before January 2018. Clear, golden yellow with a thin, frothy, stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, very grassy aroma of grains and straw. Slightly sweetish, moderately bitter, very grassy taste of grains, lots of straw and faint hints of citrus, followed by a short, rather bitter, slightly dry and grassy finish. Almost medium-bodied, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite okay, relatively quaffable but rather bland.
3.2 Can. Clear golden/yellow. Nice head. Aroma of grains, wheat and some grass and a hint of lemons. Taste is grainy, malty and slightly bitter, fruity and tart. Almost leaning into Pilsener territory. Medium to strong carbonation. Dry, clean and crisp. Ok.
3.6 Draft @ Gilden in Zims. Golden with a medium white head. Aroma had fresh pilsener malt and grassy hops. Flavor was crisp with a solid malt base and a fair amount of noble hops. Finished dry and bitter.
2.6 Goldgelb schaum ok; geruch getreidig malzig im Geschmack ganz ok aber es gibt bessere Kölsch
3.0 Bottle. Malty and grainy taste and nose, some grassy notes.Refreshing. Overall not bad.
2.8 Bottle looks ok from here. Aroma is wheat and a little graininess. Taste is sweet bubblegum with some pils like tartness. Same in the finish. Ok.
2.7 Bottle from rewe in Köln. Nose is wheat, tart. Taste is uninteresting, notes of bread. Sweet finish. Ok
2.6 500ml bottle on 3rd Oct 2016, Crown Inn, Oakengates, shared with the wife. Usual clear, light golden body and fast fading snow white head. Refreshing but almost tasteless/odourless, some grainy sweetness in what flavour there is. Just another Kölsch really, subtle to bland in nature, crisp and clean. I try to enjoy Kölsch, but it lacks depth to me. Scored kindly and objectively.
2.6 Klares goldgelb mit reichlich Schaum. Malzig, süß, sehr mild, leicht würzig.
3.5 Draught @ Gilden zims. Matier, darker and sweeter than your average kölsch. OK.
2.7 Clear pale yellow, white short lasting foam head. Barley aroma and weak barley taste, some sweet tones. Typical. (Velp 201608)
2.4 From tap; light to medium yellow beer with a white head. Aroma is grassy hoppy. Taste light bitter, herbal, slightly sweet. Light body with high carbonation. It’s OK but a bit flat.
1.7 Frisch vom Hahn in einem der Bräuhäuser getrunken. Sehr mild und süffig. Ohne große Herausforderungen.
2.3 Along with Yves at his home gold blond colored body with a white head and with a light herby hop aroma a herby hops slightly bitter taste with a bitter finish
2.9 Shared with wim at my home. Clear blond colored beer with small white head and only few carbonation. Herby aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is sweet bitter.
2.3 From tap at Kunibert der Fiese in Cologne. Poured a clear but slightly dull pale gold with a short lasting white head. Aroma of sweet maize and grass. Quite high sweetness, little by way of bitterness. Light body, slight sticky texture, high carbonation. First beer on this, a 5 day visit to Cologne - an OK starter...
2.6 Less aroma Malt and hop flavour A typical Kölsch kind, but could be better. _______________________________
2.3 50cl Can from REWE Stenten. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma is medium sweet, malty, honey, light fruity, light grassy, honey. Flavour is medium sweet, light malty, honey, light lemon, light grassy bitter finish. Light bodied.
3.1 Heldere gouden kleur en een goede kraag. Ruikt kruidig, pils, citrus. Smaakt zoetig, kruiden, citrus. Degelijk.
2.9 50cl bottle. light golden yellow golden color with average white head. malty aroma. balanced sweetness and bitterness. Quite drinkable.
2.9 Gravicask (Gilden im Zims) (5:3:5+:4:12=2.9+) Gold, with a large persistent frothy head. Gentle sweetish lagery aroma. Head itself tastes very good, very fruity and has nice bitterness. The liquid is just that diluted with lots of water. Soft palate. Fruity and pale malts. Very refreshing and drinkable - we even drank 2.
3.3 Drank from bottle. Smells of young, herb infused hay, tied together by wheat and white bread malts, with a toffee note on top. Has a lively carbonation, adding to the beers refreshing appearance while preventing it from becoming too watery, and keeping it easy drinkable, which is also true, due to its light body. Tastes of copper infused bready malts, together with a sweet toffee accent, coated up by hay. Its bubbly carbonation becomes the most recognizable during the middle part, together with a more distinct toffee profile, balanced by herbal, leaf defined hops. Hops remain pleasantly visible till the finish, adding a dry note to the otherwise profound toffee, also toned down by the metallic carbonation, from which the hops benefit the most. Interesting interpretation of this style, which would turn a tad too sweet, if it wasn’t for the pungent hops during the finish, while remaining the beers typical light, crisp mouthfeel. Untamed in comparison to many other Kölsch examples, and pretty far away from tasting boring as for the prominent hop/toffee clash, entertaining the palate very well.
2.5 Vom Fass. Hellgelb, weisser Schaum. Duft typisch Kölsch mit keichter Citrusnote. Süffig, kaum Abgang, schnell weg.
2.3 From tap at Gilden im Zims, Cologne. Clear yellow golden color with white head. Light malty aroma. Sweet and light bitter taste. Light thin to oily body with soft carbonation.
