Gipsy Hill Hepcat

Gipsy Hill Hepcat

Bottle & keg.

Hepcat is in the know. A session IPA with big fruit, juicy notes and a light, jazzy malt body. Liberal kicks.

4.0 Can, bought by Claire. Slightly hazy gold, good white head. Nice mix of fruit on the nose, and also on the palate....clean, fresh and juicy, but there's a dry streak on the finish. A good brew, like it!
3.7 Old rating from 2009 - 330ml bottle, pours clear golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of grapefruit, melon, peach, mango, passion fruit, tangerine, caramel, grass & hops. Medium body. Dry moderate bitter finish
3.3 330ml Can from Marks & Spencer, Newcastle. Hazy straw coloured with a massive rocky head of white foam. Toffee, citrus and tropical fruits are followed by a smooth, creamy warming zesty finish. Good.
3.4 Quite a refreshing, subtly tropical ipa. Quite a hoppy, lasting finish. Good overall but not particularly unique.
3.6 Cloudy pale gold with a small, bubbly white head and a bitter orange aroma. Mouthfeel has a sherbet-like character to it, there’s some juicy fruit in the flavour before a long, bitter finish
3.9 330ml can at home. Hazy amber with a nice white froth that reduces to a film. Nicely resiny floral hop nose with a good dose of lemon too. Medium biscuity with a good bitterness after. Medium body, carbonation prickly at the back of the palate, nice lingering hop finish. Reminds me of a Harpoon IPA, good beer.
3.2 Can - cloudy dirty orange with large white head but quickly dissipates to lacey line. Strong citrus aroma - mandarins. Good mouthfeel. Lasting fruity citrus tasting - quite light and refreshing.
4.0 Ipa
3.8 Pours hazy gold, massive head. Nose shows grassy herbal and spicy hops, soft caramel malt behind. Flavours include biscuity malt, spicy and herbal hops, a little bit of of citrus. Finishes clean with a refreshing bitterness.
3.4 Somewhat cloudy dark yellow hue. Zingy dried fruit on the nose. Light hops and stone fruit taste with moderate bitterness. Eminently quaffable.
4.0 Cloudy looking beer with a lager like head. Smells fruity like nectarines and sweet honeydew melon. It tastes like tinned mandarins and leaves a pleasant bitter pith after taste. It’s a refreshing, light beer to drink. Like a cold lager in a hot summers day.
3.6 Murky golden appearance. Aroma is hops, citrus and grassy. Flavour is hops, bitter, citrus and tropical.
3.7 330ml can. Pours a lightly hazy gold, frothy white head, good retention. Tropical fruit aroma, mango, orange, grapefruit. Taste is very fruity at first but then a malty biscuit note come into play, maybe a touch grassy as well. Low zingy citrus bitter finish but wouldn't have minded more of this. Moderate carbonation and body is a touch light but fine for a session IPA. Very enjoyable.
3.1 330ml can, praise be to Mark for bringing this back from the brewery literally the day after canning! Pours a glowing orange, unclear, good frothy white head. Light hoppy fragrance. Taste is lightly hoppy, gentle malt, nicely sessionable but not too much going on it has to be said. Fine session IPA.
3.4 Fruity aroma; not too sweet. Flavour is berries, orange, summer fruits. Minimal bitterness. Interesting.
3.4 Aroma is oranges and citrus. Refreshing and citrus in taste with light bitterness.
4.2 A groovy tasting beer in an even groovier can. Thoroughly enjoyable and certainly more-ish!
3.2 Above average beer, better as it went down. Quite dry
4.0 Fruity ale
3.9 Can from My Beer Dealer on 7 June 2020. The beer is not quite as cool as the dude on the can art but it comes close. This has everything that you want in a Session IPA - great colour, tropical fruit aromas and an easy drinking flavour that hits the spot.
3.0 Tap at Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, Helsinki. Color is slightly cloudy golden with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Some fruits, hops and malts. Boring.
3.3 330ml can – Pours a hazy egg-yolk yellow colour with an average sized frothy white head. Aroma is fruity, mango, sweet mandarin, grapefruit with a little pine. Moderately fruity sweet taste, mango, mandarin, grapefruit, some light biscuit malt and a lingering citrusy bitterness in the finish.
4.1 Hazy dark blonde, thin but tight foam Nose: sharp clean hop, pine, toast, mint hint, strong fart Taste: clean, refreshing, light, citrus, enough finish Great beer
3.6 Citrusy
3.8 330ml can. Golden orange with a white head. Aroma of mango, pineapple, orange pith, green leaves and pine. Taste is similar minus the mango plus spices. Light to medium body. Juicy with a moderate leafy bitterness on the finish. Very good.
3.0 Nice Balance and not over the top hopy Quite drying with bitter sweet fruity taste. Nice IPA, and I'm not a big fan of the stile. Looking forward to try other beers of this brewery
3.6 Aromas of tropical fruits, pine, citrus and malt. Golden with a white head. Medium sweet and medium + bitter. Medium body with average carbonation. Dry and bitter finish. Overall a very decent Session IPA. Refreshing and easy drinkable.
3.8 Burk. Disig guldfärgad med ett vitt skum. Dofter av grapefrukt, ananas, söt malt och tall. Smakinslag av grapefrukt, mango, ananas, apelsinskal och tall. Fyllig kropp sett till den låga procenten. Medelbeska. En riktigt bra session IPA.
3.6 Can. A very lightly foggy golden colored beer with a foamy three-finger head. Very fruity, quite piney aroma, grapefruit and pineapple mostly, with some light bready malts in the far back. It's medium bodied and smooth on the palate, nicely carbonated and semi-dry, with a pleasant bitterness. The flavor has some bready malts and a wee caramel as a backdrop for piney, grapefruity hops. Some pineapple and orange zest too. Long hop driven finish. Sure a pleasant session IPA, even though it's seven months old. 200124
3.6 Pours cloudy orange with thin fluffy head. Aroma is tangerine, juicy pineapple, light caramel and lychee. Taste is sweet with a medium bitter finish and light body. Juicy session IPA, would like to try a stronger version of this.
