3.6 Bouteille 37,5cl.
3.5 Fles 37,5cl thuis. Licht drogig, licht zurig, licht zoetig, fris. (6-2011).
3.6 Sharp, crisp green apple, Brett. Nice sourness with lively carbonation. Good gueuze
3.8 Bottle from Otters Tears, Burslem. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium white head. Aroma of apple, grape, straw, slight brett, a little white vinegar and subtle wood. Taste of apple, grape, some straw, bready malt, slight sourness, lemon, a little acidity, a hint of brett and subtle wood. Light bodied and a slick texture. A dry, sour and tart, woody acidity in the finish. Compared to the black label is a lot more simplistic but it’s still a superbly flavourful gueuze. Refreshingly sour, fruity, acidic, funky and vinous. Good.
2.9 Piwo barwy złotej, lekka opalizacja, biała nietrwała piana. W aromacie cytrusowo, dziwnie słodowo i dziwnie czuć kukurydzę, mokre drewno, lekka stajnia i trochę ocet wychodzi po chwili. W smaku mało kwaśne, sprawia wrażenie rozwodnionego, raczej nieprzyjemna gorycz na finiszu, jakiś taki selerowy aftertaste. Oj ależ rozczarowanie.
3.7 Bottle at basement. Pale amber with a generous foam. Scent is dusty with mild notes of vinegar. Mild notes of peaches. Taste is light, mild, dusty sour with some peppery notes. some citrus properties. Great.
2.9 Na korku 2018. Aromat zapowiada mocno kwaśne, agrestowo pestkowe piwo. Smak zawodzi, jest delikatnie pestkowo, w sumie kurde takie słodowo-kwaśne, gdzie ten kwas jest bardzo, bardzo delikatny. Takie bardzo nijakie w sumie, może za młode.
3.7 Bottle at home. Pours slightly unclear yellow with a white fizzy head. Dry with loads of hay, a bit of cheesy funk and some lemon. Average everything. I guess this is a perfect introduction to the style, but nothing really stands out.
3.5 25cl bottle at home. Appearance: clear golden with medium, white head. Aroma: apple, wood, slightly funky, candied sugar and something that reminds me of caramelized onions and some brett. Taste: medium sweetness, above medium bitterness and decent tartness. Notes of apple, wood, leather, brett. Finish is dry and wry with some leather. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and medium carbonation. Taste is a bit of a let down. Looking forward to the black label.
3.7 Bottle, 375 ml shared at MBR, Kiselo Druženje. Shared with others. Pours cloudy orange, medium white head. Citric, barnyard, some light wood, vinegar. Medium sourness. Dry. Medium bodied.
3.4 Less developed than black, a bit less wild, a bit less sour, a bit less leathery but when it adds up it makes significantly less interesting gueuze.
3.6 Poors very clean ocre, surprisingly big head. Aroma distictly peppery, light funk. Taste surprisingly different compared to the black version, less complex. low acidity, only light funk, slightly vinous though but also malty, if I am not mistaken. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's sweet but there's definately an impression of butterscotch to it. Not bad but lacks depth in my opinion.
3.5 250ml bottle. BB Jun-2013. Pours a hazy amber with a tan head. Aroma is malty, earthy, some caramel, bready. Same taste. Not bad.
4.2 Bottle shared at beeroda tasting session.Fruity nose. Funky, pineapple taste, bone dry mouthfeel. Low, but fitting bittereness. Strong brett notes. Nice!
3.4 Gylden, næsten brun i glasset. En smule stald i næsen. Fin syre, men også lidt sødme, hvilket ikke klæder den.
4.6 Not everybody’s cup of tea, but for an official Gueuze-Disciple, this is one great beer. A bit less ’extreme’ in its sour flavors and hints of fermentation compared to other peers.
3.4 Bottle - pours a slightly hazy orange with a white head which quickly dissipated to a film. A sweetish geuze aroma, cider apples, wood, funk and floral honey. The flavour is good, a nice balance of sweet and sour, lemon, honey, wood and yeasty notes of the wild fermentation. Nice.
4.2 bottle at home bought from honestbrew.co.uk. This is my second time drinking a Gueuze. I found this much easier. It didn’t have the cidery taste like other one I had. However a very pleasant drink
2.8 A 375ml corked and caged bottle. The cork had the words Diam DX 2016 and the number 08 on it, which I think I’ve worked it out to mean Batch D, bottled in August 2016. Poured into a Cantillon Gueuze glass. It was a clear copper orange colour with a half finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly, but settles to a thin replenishing layer with sparse lacing. Aromas were sour-ish, raisins, green apple, pear, vinegar, oak and hints of cheese. Tastes tart and lightly sour, apple cider vinegar, apple core, lemon peel, grass and oak with a sweet-ish raisin, prune like finish. Medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation. Overall aroma and taste were very different to all other Gueuze’s that I’ve tried and in this case, was just not really my thing, especially the dark fruit like sweetness and apple cider vinegar. I’d just stick with the Black Label version.
3.9 Bottle. Pours clear orange, medium white head, decent lacing. Aroma is horse blanket, dust, oak, funk. Flavor is dry, medium. Funk. Light body, soft carbonation.
3.3 Bottle at Brussels. Clear golden with white head. The aroma has notes of yeasts, wood, fruit cake, mild caramel and some funk. Sourish flavor with notes of lemon, caramel, some fruitiness, almonds, honey, wood, sweetish and bitterish, citrus peels. Lively carbonation, medium-bodied.
3.5 Bottle. Clear golden. Aroma is fruity and funky with notes of wood. Sweetish-sour-bitter, lemon, some weird vegetables and herbal flavors. Light-bodied. Expected for more.
3.4 Butelka 0,375l. Ciemne złoto, klarowne, kiepska piana. W aromacie skóra, białe owoce, nuty winne. W smaku kwaśność do umiarkowanej, delikatnie ziemiste.
3.6 Amber hue. White wine nose. Marzipan and grape skin taste with a tart finish. Rated by BrewTom
