3.0 Tap at WvdSG. Clear bright ruby, no head. Moldy cherries, funk, red berries, dusty, old white bread, freeze dried fruits. Light sweet and sour. Under medium bodied, no carbonation. Not very good.
3.5 Fast klare rötlich braune Farbe, kein Schaum. Geruch nach reifen Kirschen, dezent säuerlich, frisch. Geschmack sehr fruchtig, pure Kirschen, süß, kaum säuerlich.
4.0 Red color with hardly any head. Aroma is sweet natural cherries, some stone. Taste is sweetish cherries, but naturally so. A rather sweet Kriekenlambiek with still a nice complexity. Great!
3.6 Tap on 3 Fonteinen. Clear red with a small head. Aroma is cherry, wood and marzipan. Taste is a bit sour with notes of cherry.
3.7 Draft at 3 fonteinen. Aroma of Cherry with yeasty notes. The flavour is moderat sour and slightly sweet. The body is light and the texture is juicy. Soft carbonation. Easy drinkable and refreshing.
3.3 On tap at La Fleur en Papier Doré, Brussels, march 15th 2015. Deep red body with a pink head. Aroma of fresh cherries, marzipan, taste only has a mild sweetness, the cherries runs the show with a solid sourness in the back. fresh short finish.
4.1 Tap at La Fleur, Brussels, 28th January 16. Attractive dark pink, red, flat beer, served in a small glass tankard. Aroma is cherry, slight sour, cherry stone and boiled sweet. Taste is delicious musty cherry, some sourness, tart, but also sweet, no carbonation, base lambic comes through. Very drinkable
3.9 Glass at La Fleur en Papier Doré, Brussels. I think from a bag in a box. Hazy, dark cherry red. No head. Nose is musty, ripe cherry. Earthy cherry stone. If someone said there was strawberry in here, I’d easily believe it. Taste is dry, and lightly sour. Dry mouthfeel. Light acidity. Finishes all of that, with a soft sweetness developing as the beer opens up. Perfect beer for the setting.
4.6 Multiple glasses at la fleur en papier doree. Fruity cherry nose on pink brown beer. still, super fruity, tart, refreshing, moreish, almond, dry, slightly sharp
3.5 Tap at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam. Slightly dark red. Small head. Quite floral and juicy. Definitely an earthy quality to the aroma. Light raspberry. Vinous influence. I like the restrained sourness. Allows some sweetness to influence things. Tasty stuff.
4.0 Draft at Heeren v Liedekercke. Kriek, light sour, grain-like, very drinkable, lovely.
4.0 Kriekenlambiek Girardin 5% Cask(well bag in a box from the fridge) at Fleur en Papier Doree. It pours a deep dense cherry red and smells of musty tart-sour cherries. Med-full bodied and qute smooth. The taste is oaky, tannic, sour cherry, their stems & seeds give it an earthy and almond quality. This is one old school Kriek that is in no way sweet. Well the sweetness is there but exceedingly ephemeral. This beer in this place is the ultimate in old school lambic feeling. Great.
2.7 BIT dissapinted with this one. Nice red color, small foam. Taste is tto sweet, some nutty tones. (Antwerpen 201507)
3.3 From a cardboard box at the Tuulensuu, Tampere, Finland. Clear red colour with no head. Leathery aroma with some red berries. Vinegar, sugar, mild sourness, red berries and mild cherries in the flavour. No carbonation. Very easy to drink.
3.7 Cardboard canister @ Gastropub Tuulensuu. Pours dark red color with no head, completely flat. Sour cherries and some rose hip notes on the nose, mild yeast notes too. Sweet berries on the flavor, slightly sugary, cherries, faint raspberry notes and some gooseberries. Very quaffable, tasty too, maybe a bit more sour and this would have been great. 4334
3.7 kindly shared by bartlebier, thanks a lot. Aromas of dry sherry, wood, some brett, with ripe and juicy sour cherries underneath, develops similarly in taste, with some hints of pink fleshy grapefruit and some grapefruit peel sour-/bitterness at the end. Very nice and refreshing.
3.5 Freiburg testing - courtesy of Bartlebier, many thanks Franck! Fut de 10L! Couleur rouge sans mousse. Nez de cerises légèrement vineux. Gout très sec fruits et cerises légèrement aigres, note lactique et houblonnée avec petite amertume, vraiment pas courant ds les krieks. Super nickel!
3.4 10L pack shared by Bartlebier thanks. A red bier almost without head, nose is on fruit. Aroma is medium sweet, fruit acidity, low lambic notes, red fruit dominant, malty notes which is rare for a kriek, very easy drinkable, kind of real cherry drink.
3.4 ath zythos beer festival along with Yves reddish coloured body with a small white head and with a fruity cherries sour aroma a sour fruity cherrie sweet taste with a sour finish
3.8 Sampled at ZBF 2015. Ruby with pink head. Intense fresh cherry aroma, notes of almond and cinnamon. Light to medium bodied, low carbonation. Semi dry, medium acidity.
2.9 Sample at ZBF 15. Poured a dark red colour with no head. (The Guy behind the bar even didn’t cleaned my glass wtf?) notes of sweet chemical amarena cherries, vinegar, horseblanket notes, hay, arteficial. Low carbonated. Very weird. Not plesant
3.6 Tap@Fermentoren, Copenhagen - dark red pour with tiny bubbly pinkish head. Aroma and taste is prominent sour cherry, some wooden nuances, some grassy notes, straw, dry finish.
3.8 Tap(@Alles Gärbar, Bochum): Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, no head to speak of; almonds, cherries, wood and vinegar in the sour and sweetish nose; moderate, still not too strong, sour flavour, moderately balanced by a well detectable residual sweetness, light to medium bodied, tart MF; lingering fruity, almondy and a bit balsamico-like finish, sorrounded by typical Lambik flavours. Yes, yes! A very fine Lambik of high drinkability…
3.5 From tap. Clear reddish colour with a reddish head. Aroma and flavour of sourness, yeast, cherries, oak and acidic.
3.7 @Delices et caprices Couleur rose-rouge, pas très foncée pour une kriek. Belle texture bien soyeuse. Evidemment plate. On sent le goût Girardin et également "kriek", belle réussite, pas trop acide et bine rond.
3.9 Girardin’s unblended cherry lambic, purplish red in colour, no head as expected for the style. Refined, honest and earthy character, delicate funkiness, cheesy, very fruity with enough real cherries; still unsweetened contrary to the bottled kriek and in that sense a lot more interesting for lambic lovers, relatively mild, and very elegant. Great example of its particular style, like their regular lambic.
3.1 Bottle. Pours a deep dark red with almost no head. Aromas of pressed cherries and barnyard. Flavors of cherry pie and light funk. A nice light Kriek for a summer evening.
3.4 Clear darker red body with almost no head. Aroma has cherry, very sweet licorice, light sourness. Taste has cherry sourness with woody notes, no bitterness. Body is full, low carbonation.
4.2 Bottle fill at the source. Thanks Paul! Served in a Chouffe glass: Some bubbles on top of a cloudy red colored beer. Aromas of cherries, wood, cherry pits, Flavours of cherries, tart, wood, light yeasty, light cinnamon, loads of tart cherries. Delicious. Aftertaste is tart, cherries, light wood, light cinnamon and some yeast. Low to no carbo, watery mouthfeel, good medium bodied and a light dry light watery texture. Great stuff!
