3.80,75l bottle. Pours cloudy gold with big rocky white head. Aroma of belgian yeast, fruits, floral, citrus, red apples, hay. Taste is fruity, yeasty, malt, floral. Nice amounts of carbonation. Good stuff.
3.7Flaska från SB. Disig gyllengul öl med vitt skum. Doften är blommig, fruktig och örtig med olika citrusfrukter och skal. I smaken tillkommer lättare karamelltoner.
2.7Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden.
Big off white head.
Opaque solid yellow color.
Big apple aroma with typical saison phenols.
Herbal, woody and malty taste with low phenol.
Low /medium bitterness and a lingering maltiness.
3.127 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Deputy Taster: Anke. Cheers to Ama Deke, Erwin, John & Meeki!
As 'Lentebier'. Clear pale golden, lasting, thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of ‘margarine’, ripe banana, wheat, clove, mouldy apple & pear, white bread. Taste is medium fruity sweet, hints of ripe banana & apple on a wheaty & lemony sour base, butter returning retronasally, spicy bitter tones of clove, coriander & pepper, leading to a dry, grassy hoppy finish, in which the clove, banana & butter linger. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Needs some fine-tuning and cleaning, although I don't think it has a lot of potential. Anyway, Saison?
3.82018 bottle. Super massive head 3/4 of the glass. Under light gold. Spicy yeast, citrus, pepper. Big carbonation. Sweet malts, grassy, citrus, spicy yeast. Some sips are very honey sweet, others alcohol, others malty and yeasty, strange. Oily, yeast and grassy evenly bitter hops remain. Nice saison. Not sure what the difference is between this and their main saison, the malts perhaps? A good one even though the sips were a bit all over the place.
3.1Tap (Riga Pours 2019) as "Saison d'Erpe-Mere Lentebier". Hazy golden color. Medium size, white head, stays. Herbal, fruity, malty, Belgian yeast in aroma and in taste. Drinkable brew.
3.7Tap at the Riga Pours 2019 (as Saison d'Erpe-Mere Lentebier). Pours golden. Aroma and flavor are fruity, apricots, sweet, belgian yeast, dry. Overall: very good.
3.9Bottle at home. One year old. Has a hazy dark straw colour with a huge off-white head. A bit overcarbonated. Aroma of lime, pepper, grass, cloves, phenols and dry hay. Hint of cardamom. Flavour of hay, grass, phenols, alcohol, sweet malt, marzipan and spicy hops. Has a slick and sparkly mouth feel, medium to full-body and a ligh to medium bitterness. Aromatic and tasteful. Well-balanced. I'm glad I have the 0.75 bottle for myself.
3.4Pours a cloudy light orange with some visible particles. Huge frothy white head shows excellent retention and lacing. Aroma shows a dominant fruity (jammy) note, with orange most prominent, sugary sweetness, plus slight spicy and grassy notes. Taste follows the aroma; the beer feels sweet from entrypoint to finish with a significant sugar contibution. Citrus jam (again mostly orange) among a light white bread base, sugar, hint of spices and a touch of herbal/grassy bitterness to bring some balance in the finish. Overall nice though not too deep. Medium to dense bodied with quite high carbonation, still goes down quite easily and somehow smooth, with a slight warming/alcohol touch. That was a well made and enjoyable beer. Tried it one year after bottling; it may have lost some of it's hoppiness, but i still can't help thinking that's a bit too sweet for the style. Feels like sugar is taking away from the beer's potential complexity.
3.8Fles 0.75 Lentebier. Geel troebel bier met heel veel schuim. Smaak is licht bitter hoppig en licht zoet met iets van inaasappel en ananas.
3.975cl Lentebier. Beautiful cloudy straw ripe, big creamy white head. Floral, a little citrus, dry yeasty and firm creamy and grainy malty imperial saison-like, boozy finish: pleasantly balanced. Firm body, high carbonation.
4.175cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck drunk all to myself. Pours misty gold, large frothy rocky white head. Aroma is sweet, floral, vanilla, heavy yeast, sugar. Taste continues in a similar fashion, smooth and sweet, with a confident carbonation which suits the style. Some mild alcohol though its not offputting, light peppery spice. Sugary sweetness lingers on the finish. Excellent strong sweet saison.
3.7750ml bottle. Hazy, orangey, dark golden colour with average, foamy, mostly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Spicy, minimally dusty yeasty and fruity aroma, notes of overripe yellow stone fruit, peach, apricot, hints of white pepper, slightly grassy, leafy, hoppy overtones. Taste is slightly dry, yeasty spicy, sweet-ish fruity basis, notes of yellow stone fruit, berries, hints of white pepper, black pepper; well hidden alcohol. Full body, oily texture, smooth and soft palate, efficacious carbonation.
3.4Tap at ‘t Brugs Beertje, Bruges. Hazy yellow with white head. Grassy, herbal, vaguely spicy. Sweetish malty notes. Doesn’t feel as strong as advertised. Nice.
3.7Tap at Before 9. Deep golden with orange, almost clear. thick, low head. HOney malt nose, creamy, biscuity. Lemon and orange in the flavor, creamy, esters, peaches. Rather sweet and malty but hides the 9% very well. Soft and full. Would like a little more hop presence, but very nice.
3.9Tap at the before 9 event shared by KL. Lovely glowing gold with a medium to full body, smooth mouthfeel and a taste of honey and stone fruits. Hides that 9% abv insanely well, drinks easily.
3.3On-tap (as Lentebrier) in 't Brugs Beertje on 13th May 2018. Thin white covering over a misty golden pour. Floral, yeasty aroma, taste also slightly yeasty in nature, this isn't a sour, or even semi-sour Saison, only a hint of tartness throughout. Nice.
3.5F: big, white, good retention.
C: pale gold, hazy.
A: fruity, peach, floral, bit yeasty, funky.
T: malty, fruity, bit orange peels, bit spicy, bit honey, grassy, easy drinkable, light to medium body and medium carbonation, good balanced, enjoyed, sample from tap as « Glazen Toren Saison d'Erpe-Mere Lentebier » @ second day ZBF 2018.
3.5Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A hazy pale golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of soft spicy and grassy hops. Taste of spices, grassy bitter hops, yeast, some herbs.
3.6Tap, as "Lentebier". Hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma is bubblegum, flowery, dough. Taste is spicy yeasts, flowery, dough. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Good!
4.0750ml bottle. Pours hazy gold, unfiltered so not surprising. Huge fluffy head, pour with care! Great Saison taste, a bit yeasty, boozy, ester, cloves and spice. Good full flavour, a little sweet.
3.2750ML from Platinum liquor
Hazy orange, straw amber color. Massive bright white head. Lots of staying power to the head. Lots of lacing. Lots and lots of carbonation visibly
Nose is banana, sweet bread, citrus, and clove. Bright nose.
Taste is a lot of carbonation. Quite fizzy. Citrus, sweet banana, sweet bread, and lots of carbonation.
Medium body, a bit overcarbed I suppose but it does cut through the 9% reasonably. Slightly too sweet for me but not bad at all. To me would pass for a triple
3.7Lys brun tåkete med høyt hvitt skum. Lukter korn, høy, gjær og hvete. Middels fylde. Syrlig smak, epler, korn, hvete og gjær. Middels lang.
3.3lys brun med masse fluffy skum. Lukter typisk belgisk gjær. ikke min favoritt derfor litt urettferdig raring.
4.1Bottle of Glazen Toren Saison d'Erpe-Mere Lentebier shared with JFE and BG at Vaaland Bryghus 15.10.17. Cloudy orange golden. Large, foamy and persistent white head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste, with pale malt, grass, alcohol, succade, herbs and a hint of tropical fruits. Very fruity. Very high carbonation.
4.0Bottle, 750 ml. Excellent and rich, full of umami and an enormous nose of honey, yeast, campher. Bread and esters. Some bitterness towards the end. Savour it!
3.9Colore giallo acceso, schiuma abbondante compatta e persistente, torbida. Al naso creali, mandorle. All'assaggio note di frutta in particolare limone e banana. Corpo medio, Inizio dolce con un finale secco ed un retrogusto leggermente amaro. Una birra con un carattere delicato in cui l'alcol rimane ben nascosto.
4.4As a De Glazen Toren Lente Bier. Coz za wyglad. Papier jednak zdjalem wygodniej mi bylo nalewac (postapilem wbrew zaleceniom). Piekna puszysta biala piana, trwala niczym sople lodu przy -40 stopni gdzies w skandynawii. Zlocista barwa pod koniec piaskowa barwa zmetniona. Zapach lekkich perfum, zywicy, choinki w lesie. Smak delikatny, zywiczny przyprawowy, olejek z oregano, bazylia i tymianek. Fantastyczne i smaczne. Alkohol ukryty doskonale. Swietny Saison.
