Brewed to honor the brave souls who kept our brew pub open in the early 90’s while wrecking balls tore down the mall around us. Dry and smooth, with a grassy, citrus aroma and a honey malt middle.

3.8BIg bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, The pour is clearish golden with tiny lively yeast stuff swimming around topped with a inch high white head that fades a bit. The nose a fresh with a more hoppy profile than normal belgian ale that seems to be a little more perfumic talking generally. Citric notes and touches of melon and lots of saaz.. Its a pretty heavy aroma. The taste is likewise pretty heavy at first but fades quite quickly leaving the impressions of saaz and giving me chezck associations. Some metallic notes sneaks in to blur the picture a little but not enough to ruin the nice impression. The mouthfeel is medium with a creamy finish. nice summerly beer.
3.5Bottle from the Cave. Golden colour, medium off-white head. Nose of sweet malts, spices and some fruits. Flavour is sweet malted, spicy, yeasty, orange.
4.0Appearance: cloudy, orangey golden; one-finger white head shrinking quickly; generous lacing. Aroma: floral, peppery, fruity and herbal, with notes of biscuit and pie crust. Taste: light, crackery malts, a slight honeyed sweetness, with notes of clove, ginger, pepper, and white grapes. Finish: smooth, crisp, a little dry and tangy, with pleasant lingering hint of floral sweetness and herb garden. Notes: Top notch Belgian-style golden ale. Become a little more herbal/spicy as it warms. Dangerously easy drinking, and the palate is excellent. Hides the alcohol, although there is a little pleasant warming in the belly before you know it.
3.7Reviewed from notes.
Pours a really nice golden color with a fluffy white head. Good retention and some nice lacing, but not good enough to justify a 4.5 in a style where this is quite common; needs to go above and beyond. Nose is quite nice with some floral and grass plus some light pepper and Belgian yeast. Mild citrus and pear. The taste is nice with the yeast really coming through next to some floral and peppery notes. Great feel with all the components combining quite well. One of the best American examples of the style that I’ve had.

3.4Bottle. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and moderate hoppy aroma. Some nice yeasty notes. Moderate bitter flavor powerfull fruity esters. Moderate bitter average finish. Oily palate. Nice.
3.3Pour golden yellow with big white head long lasting with solid lace. Aroma of floral hops, Belgian yeast, touch spicy, banana, bubble gum, clove, orange peel. Taste pepper, clove, sweet malt, Belgian spicy yeast. MF medium to full body mild carb. Meh alright brew was hard to enjoy because it was later in the evening below avg Belgian.
3.0Bright straw body with moderate carbonation and a tall, white bubbly head. Nose is fruity with some barnyard characteristics. Sweet candied malt backbone. Bananas, yeast, esters . . . the usual suspects. A little thin and oily. Wheat and orange citrus. Nothing offensive but not stellar in any way.
3.6Some bread in the nose. Blonde caracter, light hoppy some herbs and grass.
Clear almost bright yellow, with a fine and lasting creamy head.
Medium body, oily and with a ligth bitter finish, notes og grape an hay. some sweetnes.
3.5Bottles: Semi-clear gold with a fizzy white ring head. Spicy, yeast aroma with a tinge of green apples with a crisp and smooth feel and flavor. Light flavors and not to over the top. Tasty. Thanks Indiana_Red for sharing.
3.4Pours yellow with a white head. Aroma is yellow with a white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, flowerry hop and almond. Flavour is malt, fruit, yeast, apple and flower.
3.5Dense foamy white head. Leaves lacy head behind in the glass after each sip. Citrus and grassy flavors with some hoppiness. Definite Belgian yeast aroma and flavor, with a slight bit of herby bitterness.Another good beer from Goose Island.
3.6Very light beer, almost transparent. Belgian style, smells of yeast, ripe bananas, orange peel, cloves and maybe som wheatmalt. Fine subdued bitterness, which stands well with the sweetness. Long aftertaste.
3.6Bottle. Low fluffy lasting white head. Clear golden body. Perfume fruity cinnamon aroma. Sweet malt flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste.
3.8It pours a clear light gold with a white head but not much there and no very good lacing.
The aroma is hops with flowers.
The taste is ok, nothing special to make you want to look for it. Its light and sweet to start slight bitter finish. Mouhthfeel is ok, you can drink a lot of this.
3.6Golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical sweet fruits, spice and banana. Sweet and fruity flavour with cookie spices, a hint of pine hop and a bitter finish.
3.2bottle from ølbutikken, as Goose Island Demolition.
clear yellow, smooth white head
malty, slightly citrussy aroma, something resembling belgian yeast
and belgian yellow fruits.
flavor is sugary, malty, belgian yeast, yellow fruits,
slight bitterness as if from wild yeast, but not very pronounced.
all in all a dry, yellow fruity belgian yeasty brew.
(Rating #3564)
3.3this is good for sure. Compared to alot it’s just ok. I will say that this has much better body than most I’ve tasted. A solid brew. Its refreshing and controls your tastes with its carbonation. Nice yeast presence. Smooth, dry and easy to drink. Slightly sweet.
3.6Bottle. Moderate malt and hop aromas of grain and flowers, light barnyard for the yeast, with hints of apple and clove. Head is small, fizzy, white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear, but has super tiny suspended particles, yellow/amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then finishes moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is light to medium, a bit slick with a lively carbonation. This is a nice fruity, spicy and refreshing Belgian Ale.
3.6From Voldby, DK.
Bottled, 120311.
Golden with white head. Aroma of malt and yeast. Flavor with alcohol and fruit.
3.7Sweet aroma of stone fruit, bready/yeast, & hops. Pours clear golden with a thin white head, clinging to the glass. Dry, citrus, hits the center with hop bitterness, and finishes tart and nutty. Very nice mouthfeel. Meaty, not too thin! This a a good take on a Belgian Golden, a little ramped up on the ABV, and fairly complex. tasted @ 58F.
4.1It looks like a fizzy, yellow beer, but it sure doesn’t taste like one! Very yellow with a thin white head. Has a pastoral aroma with some funkiness and lemon. Very dry on the tongue with grassy and (mild) wild yeast flavors. There’s a honeyed sweetness that balances really well with the dryness, and this stays behind and seems to evolve into a light caramel flavor. The lemony citrus aroma comes through in the taste also. Has a very earthy taste like a good Saison. I’m sure glad Goose Island survived the wrecking ball so they could make this (and many other) excellent beer!
4.0From memory, not as bubbly as Duvel, has a good, bright flavor to it, relatively strong in the alcohol department, Demolition is a pretty good take on a Belgian Golden.
3.422 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy gold with a pillowy white head. The nose is pretty much straight bubble gum and Belgian yeast. The flavor follows suit with a little more complexity. Higher than average carbonation helps lighten up some of the sweetness. Good but not mind blowing.
3.2Pours pale gold with fluffy white head and foamy lacing. Pleasant notes of wheat and citrus. Balanced taste with bitter/sour kick. Smooth going down.
3.7Hazy golden pour, short white head. Mildly sweet apple, pear, citrus, honey aroma. Fruity flavor with more of that apple and pear character, honey, moves to dry orange peel and finishes gently herbal. Very delicate tasting for a 7% beer.
3.9Belgian funk all over the aroma with wheat on the backgound. This is a slightly sour, wild yeast monster. Starts slightly hazy but turns somewhat clear. Head is chunky white with large bubbles that laces nicely. Full mouthfeel follows through with a zesty, bright estery flavor. Biscuit comes through the chewy texture. Pairs perfectly with the Goat Truffle Tremor from Cypress Grove. Enjoyed whilst training over Donner Pass was a nice touch as well.
3.5pours golden with an almost acid banana aroma. Very light head a taste of tart. slightly sweet with a light sour pallet. Very refreshing!
3.6Bottled. Golden coloured. Unclear. Dense off white head. Aroma of sweetness, yeast, light grape, fruits and some earth. Flavour of barnyard, grape, yeast, fruits and spice. Medium bodied. Dry and grapy yeast end with a light bitter touch.
3.3Bottle; Pour is cloudy light golden, with a white head that begins on the frothy side in a tulip. The aromas seem to be the highlight for me; There is a straw, citrus, and tropical fruit character on the nose. I was so lost on the name of this brew (before reading the description here) , because the flavor profile was anything but a wrecking ball to the senses. This one seems a bit weakly put together, honestly. There is a slight grainy feel, citrus, star fruit, hay, and the finish is lacking. Eh
