Goose Island 312 Urban Pale Ale

Goose Island 312 Urban Pale Ale

Brewer’s Notes:
We are from the city that invented the skyscraper. We constructed our Urban Pale Ale on a balanced malt backbone, so the citrus hop aroma and crisp flavor can stand tall.

3.0 27/III/16 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from Albert Heijn (Gent) @ home - BB: 2/VIII/16 (2016-296) Thanks to Erwin for the bottle! Clear copper orange beer, creamy off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: pretty fruity, oranges, very malty, sweet grains, caramel, hint of tropical fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very malty, lots of grains, pretty bitter, bit metallic. Aftertaste: dry bitterness, metallic, little bit of citrus.
3.5 Uit assortiment bij AH. Ruikt licht hoppig, prima kleur. Smaakt fris hoppig, pils achtig.
2.9 Pours an amber color with a white head. Not very impressive on the aroma. Light citrus aroma overbalanced by the caramel malts. Flavor is very light on the hops. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish.
3.0 Thanks to Dad, Does a great job at what it sets out to do. Non-challenging, easy drinking pale ale version of the 312 wheat. Tastes like the the early days of micro brews. Not overly interesting but it isn’t pretending to be anything more. Serving: Bottle
3.1 Bottle from Albert Heijn. Clear orange colour, white foam disappears quickly. Medium carbonation. Nose of grapefruit and caramel. Bitter finish. Not very well balanced (on the sweet side) but easy drinkable. Ok.
3.4 Bottle on Celebrity Millennium. Smooth malty soft beginning. Hints of floral hops with a nice floral bitterness. Easy to drink, floral smooth bitter in the end. Nice.
2.4 12fl oz bottle at home from local supermarket, Maarssen. Nose is lagerish malty. Body is clear pale golden, head is medium, off-white, fizzy, average lasting, fair lacing. Aroma is floral, malt. Medium sweet, light bitter. Finish is medium lasting hoppy medium bittersweet. Light body, thin texture, average carbonation. Easy, refreshing, simple, not bad but quite boring.
2.7 Amber colored, clear, small white head, not too lasting. Aroma is of caramel malt, some orange candy, bit citrus. Taste is medium sweet caramel malt, orange candy, fruity, some low citrus aroma, low+ grassy bitterness, bittersweet finish, cloying sticky caramel aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft carbonation.
3.0 Licht wazig strogeel bier met kleine witte schuimkraag. Aroma: Zoete mout met citrus hoptoets. Smaak: Zoet, licht bitter, gras. Licht mondgevoel met gemiddeld koolzuur en bitterige afdronk.
2.7 35,5cl bottle. Apperance: Clear orange pour with a small white head. Aroma: Sweet malts, some citrus hops. Allthough it’s quite faint. Taste: Sweet , medium to light bitter, some caramel, some grass and some citrus hops, light bitter finish. Thinnish body, average carbonation. A very average beer and forgetfull as an APA. (Backlog rating).
3.2 It pours amber in color with a head that doesn’t last that long. It does leave some lacing as it disappears. There are aromas of grassy hops, a bit of wheat, and some bready malt. There is also a bit of pepper and lemon. It has flavors of grass, wheat, and bread, with a hint of lemon. It is light, but highly carbonated. There is mild bitterness on the finish.
2.9 Bottle at home. Amber with white head. Sweet malts, lots of wheat or barley, oily. Moderate sweet light bitter. Slick almost gellike. Okay.
3.4 Angenehm zu trinken, wenn auch irgendwie etwas dünn / wässrig und der Abschluss sich recht bitter darstellt. Ansonsten hopfig mit leichten Zitrusnoten und etwas Getreide. Klassisch gu.
2.5 What the fudge, Goose Island... Clear orange pour, smells of sweet boiled malts, tastes as the worst pale ale I have ever tried: boiled corn, caramel sweetness and... that’s about it. No hop profile, no bitterness, no flavour of any kind except the sweetness.
3.2 Bottle. The beer has got a hazy golden colour with a small head and medium body. Aroma of hops and wheat. Taste of hops, citrus fruits, bread, straw and flowers. Hints of metallic blossoms. Nice one.
3.2 From the bottle poured into nosing glass. Clear amber colored beer with quickly vanishing head. Pretty good lacing there too. Nose is Kind of a vegetable smell, raw carrots and some grass too. Taste is decent bitterness and tickeling mouthfeel. Finish is grassy grape taste with high residual bitterness. Noticeable alcohol and citric hints that remind me of vodka lemon from my past.
3.2 Bottle. Pours a clear golden beer with a medium sized, bright white head on top. Aroma of grass and a nice malty touch. Quite faint in the nose. Flavor is medium to light bitter, slightly hoppy and grassy. Great drinkability, short, light bitter finish and decent carbonation. Just a decent, just above average beer in my book.
3.2 15.11.2015-Flasche-0,355l-Alberrt Heijn Oostburg :-) Orange mit wiesser Krone, gut karbonisiert, ordentliches Lacing. Aroma: Maracuja (?), Malz. Antrunk Zitrone, Pinie, leider nach sschönem Start zum Ende recht flach werdend. Ordentlich gehopftes Pale ale.
2.6 Verizon Center, DC can: pours copper with a white head. Taste is attenuated hops and a crappy malt aroma. Taste is lightly bitter with an almost sour. I was not impressed. This your C game.
3.2 On tap at White Chocolate Grill. Pours an opaque yellow-orange and makes a thin head. Aroma is of wheat and citrus. Tastes of wheat and light hops and citrus.
2.9 355 ml. bottle from Albert Heijn. (Still, astonished by the fact that I can get USA beers from the supermarket, never thought that this would ever happen). BBF 01/2016. Near clear touch darker orange, small off-white head. Nose is weird, insecticide bitter, floral, herbal with butterscotch, butter, orange peel,… mmh. Taste is more agreeable, sparkling butterscotch, butter herbal, insecticide, orange peel, grains, honey, chemical, chemical hop oil,… Weird, chemical, buttery, strange hop taste, you can drink it but it is really not what it should be, not too crazy about this one. Too bad considering just how phenomenal some of the beers that these guys make. You would think that they would have a better standard offering.
3.3 33cl bottle. Clear amber colour with a thin white head. Malts, citrus and fruity aroma. Average carbonation and light to medium body. Taste is light bitter. Overall, refreshing beer.
2.9 35,5 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Albert Heijn Culemborg. Clear dark golden with a white head. Fruity malty aroma. Bittersweet taste. Bit watery and sweet but decent enough.
2.9 At Home goudblond light amber coloured body with a white head and with a citrus hop malt aroma a malt hop bitter sweet herby taste with a slight bitter finish
1.9 Bottle. Golden color. Aroma of sweet wort and grain. Bad taste of wort, honey and chemical hop. Where is the hop? Really bad.
3.2 Bottle 35.5cl. @local AH supermarket. Clear and bright amber, small thin frothy white head, diminishing quickly, light lacing; light malty and fruity aroma, orange peel, caramel, bit pine, grass; taste medium sweet and bitter, caramellish, herbal notes; medium body, oily texture, bit sharp mouthfeel, flat carbonation, aftertaste light dry bitter, roasted malts, herbal notes; overall decent.
3.1 375 ml bottle@home. Appearance: clear to hazy orange golden with off-white head. Aroma: c-hops, malt. Taste: medium sour bitter. Palate: refreshing, light body, low carbonation. Overall: ok.
3.7 Very citrus, very clean, simple drinkable body, but satisfying. Light bitter, mineral. I dig it! (33cl bottle from Albert Heijn Leuven)
3.3 Bottle at home, amber/orange beer, small/medium head, aroma is light citrus, some malt. taste is the same, maybe a bit old? still not bad but could be better.
3.0 Aroma: Pale hop scent, grain, sweet orange, bitter grapefruit. Appearance: Clear golden/amber beer with a decent white head. Taste/Palate: Starts sweet and fruity, turns bitter fruity. The carbonation ruins the palate in my opinion, but I generally don’t like it.
