Goose Island Endless IPA

Goose Island Endless IPA

Long days and warm nights awaken the city. The list of neighborhood festivals is endless. As is the great music that brings us together in parks and parking lots. We brewed our Session IPA to be easy drinking and endlessly refreshing, so you can enjoy every encore.
Bright note of fresh oranges and other citrus fruit with a mild body that is crisp on the palate.

Admin Note: Although this is similar to Forcone, Goose Island assures me this beer is a different recipe for large scale release in 2014 evolved from that original batch for Pitchfork Music Festival 2013.

3.4 can. Poured clear amber with a rocky white head. Big orange citrus aroma. Light-medium body, active carbonation, quick refreshing finish. Flavour is sweet and citrusy, notes of wheat malts and bitter citrus peel, bold hops but not over powering.
3.3 Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with small white head that lasts. The aroma is wet biscuit and citrus. Medium body with wet hop and citrus, light finish, good.
3.0 Pours clear golden with lots of foamy head and lots of lacing. Nose is fruity and floral. Flavours of grapefruit, some resin some cereal, some mango. Taste light/med bitter light sweet. Lighting body with reasonably aggressive bitterness in the finish. It’s ok.
3.1 Poured from can. Golden to slightly brown. Thin head. Light, fresh, lightly fruity aroma - citrus. Taste very close to aroma, heavy on the citrus for a moment. Balanced bitterness. Little palate. Very light & refreshing IPA. Nothing special but very enjoyable in summer heat.
3.2 Nothing objectively bad about this session IPA but it's kind of boring. Pours a bright dark yellow with not much head but some nice lacing. Crisp aroma. Weak on the tongue. Some hops but it's mild for an IPA. Nice pleasant finish.
3.4 Light gold. Has a slightly citrusy hop nose. Light pale malts and there’s a floral citrusy element. Ok IPA
3.6 Can: Poured a bright yellow color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrusy and fruity hops is quite nice ne enticing. Taste is a nice mix of juicy and citrusy hops with some light dry notes and minimal bitterness. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed APA with great flavours and balance.
3.4 2016-06-18. Orange body nice off white head. 3+ Aroma of orange and grassy hops. Flavour is lightly bitter, light fruit notes, orange and green hops. Average bodied palate, good carbonation. Decent. 7/3/7/3/14 On tap at the Beaches, BBQ and Brews Festival, Toronto, ON.
3.3 [8501-20160618] Can. Fragrant potpourri citrus aroma. Clear, orange yellow body with a long-lasting foamy white head. Bitter tired orange peel and grassy grains flavour. Medium body. Good, simple. (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3 (Toronto Ribfest @ Centennial Park, Toronto, ON)
Note: 6+/10
3.6 Pale straw-golden pour. The aroma is light and zesty. There’s a bit of lemon and orange zest with a touch of zestiness and a bit of light fruit. Light fruit and kiwi. Tropical. Decent.
3.5 Grassy aroma with some citrus. Smooth and light on the tongue. A palate tickler with decent taste but the hops are muted. Enjoyable enough.
2.6 Bottle. Grassy and slightly fruity aroma. Floral and fruity taste with mild bitterness and clean finish. Sessionable, but not exciting in any way.
2.8 355ml bottle at Matt’s. Aroma and taste are hoppy, fruity, slightly sweet, some chemical notes. Meh.
2.7 12 oz. bottle, pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out a very soapy, floral hops, some detergent, and biscuity malt. Flavour is very dull, with soapy floral hops and dry biscuity malt. Very dull, soapy and uninspired. Meh.
3.0 Hazy golden color with small fruity head. Mild aroma of cereals, but also with a pleasant mellow fruity touch. The mouthfeel is very dry, appropriate for the style, the malt has some timid cereal character, it has a reasonable bitterness level, a mild herbaceous touch from the hops, and not much more hop quality. A bit weak in the final. The aroma is more satisfying than the flavor. Pleasant drink for a BBQ afternoon.
3.0 12 oz. bottle. Slight copper color, weak head retention. Nose is light toasted grain and light hints of pine. Flavor is ok. Toasted grain/ bready malt backbone. Decent amount of citrus. The body and texture is better than a lot of other “session” IPA’s on the market. Doesn’t come off watery at all. Obviously nothing in the top tier of the style here but it is respectable.
3.1 On tap @ Royal Oak in Ottawa. Clear orange-tinted gold, receding white head. Light orange peel and faint earthy notes, mild bitterness. Not awful, but nothing I’d rush back to.
3.1 Can. Pale yellow body, medium white head with poor retention, no lacing. Pleasant aroma of grass, oranges, acacia honey and some pungent spices, mostly peppercorn. Taste of grassy hops, grapefruit zest, a touch of yeast and some spices. Not bad.
1.5 Canned from LCBO. Clear body, small white head. Weak aroma, bland. Tastes like a European lager! Big bubbles, weak finish.
3.1 Pint can pour. Clear, golden, good carbonation. Light and crisp taste. Underwhelming nose and flavor.
3.5 473ml can. Pours a clear gold with an off-white head. On the nose, resinous hops, caramel malt notes, a strange but not unwelcome note of fresh raspberries, grapefruit, and light peach. Taste wise, caramel malt, apricot, faint almost cherry candy notes, and a light resinous hops that head into watery mineral sided bitterness, with peach and citrus in the finish. It’s solid.
3.2 Lots of the advertised sweet orange aromas hit my nose on the pour. The body disappoints looking a little thin and watery. It has a nice light refreshing mouthfeel, that has me checking the can to see if it is even 5% abv, and that sweet orange is back this time on the tongue. Not what I would call a robust IPA, but it is quite refreshing and quaffable on a hot day watching the Blue Jays and Red Sox in a tight game.
3.3 A golden ipa with a thin lacing off white head . In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with citrusy floral hops, light mineral notes, light session ipa very nice. On tap at Festibière de Gatineau 2016.
3.2 Draft - Caramel backbone with some early hops. Clear gold with a decent white head. Tea leaf like hops and a caramel base. Very classic east coast.
3.5 473ml can. Pours a clear, golden yellow with a one finger, white head. Aroma has great notes of citrus, pine, floral, mild resin, tropical fruits, and slight bready caramel. Taste is balanced but a touch bitter. Bready to start then pine, mild resin, citrus, grapefruit, floral, grassy straw, and a short ending. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly resiny in the mouth with a soft mouth feel and a slightly dry finish. Overall a nicely crafted, easy drinking, ipa. All the flavours are in check and even. Pine, floral, citrus, resin, grass, bread, and caramel.
