3.5 !6 ounce mug at Lizardville Copley Ohio. Thin white head, no film on glass. Light amber in color. Taste sweet with a light taste of coffee, very drinkable. Sweet on palate. Very nice beer for the style and could consume quite a bit at one setting. Cheers!
4.5 Feels like one of the more underrated seasonals. Finally, a coffee beer that isn't overly bitter! Just enough coffee in the mix to come across. Certainly one of the better coffee/beer combinations I've had.
3.3 Pours clear topaz with a thick, though not long-lasting, eggshell head. Aroma features fresh malt, sweet fruit, and - yes, coffee. Flavor delivers more coffee, good if not gourmet, plus fresh malt and zesty fruit. Texture presents fair body and fizz. One beer that will perk you up.
2.5 I'm pissed because I am a coffee nut and Intelligentsia is one of my favorite roasters. WHERE IS THE COFFEE???
3.2 Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Medium gold. Strange aroma. Malt and some coffee. Muted flavor, somewhat sweet then malty finish.
3.4 Clear Orangy gold with little white head Aroma is sweet malty slight coffee notes Flava is grainy and tangy mildly softly sweet hints of honey Feels medium with slight fizz Finishes tangy and moderately bitter
3.3 Draught at Lexington Whole Foods. Golden in color with mostly blonde ale taste and a little bit of coffee.
1.9 I'm not really a fan of coffee in any beer that isn't dark, and can't say this one did wonders for me. Like a boring golden ale with some coffee. But not even much coffee, and to be fair I asked my coworker for a sip of his, which I poured into my unwashed coffee cup at work. Pretty creamy. Bottle from mixed pack.
3.3 Poured a nice amber color. Not as much coffee in the aroma as i expected. Taste has coffee with aome toffee and malty notes. Aftertaste has some coffee but mostly a noce malty flavor. The coffee is not overdone and it works well.
2.0 Bottled January 12th 2018. Pours light gold, kinda skimpy with the foam, no lacing. Nose has some coffee, hints of chocolate, grain, a little bit toasty. Taste is of coffee, citrus, chocolate like flavour, grain. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty average tasting.
3.9 Low carbonation. Dark orange gold appearance. Light latte flavor with caramel and malts. Very smooth. Bottle
3.4 Tap, ADT. Surprised to see this pour a hazy golden amber, with a frothy off-white head. Grassy hops, coffee, caramel malt. More coffee on the finish. Interesting blend. Not sure I particularly care for this style, but it's a well made beer.
3.6 Poured from bottle thanks Eddie dated 7/27/17 golden copper with a white head. Aromas of light coffee caramel malts grain and light floral notes. Taste is semi sweet caramel honey mild roast from the coffee. Nice blend.
3.2 12floz bottle, BOD: 12.12.2017, $1.75 unit cost, mug glass. Appears an ordinary deep gold with clarity and very little head. Smells of grain dust with dash of coffee if you will. This is a not too shabby coffee blonde ale. It doesn't hide the fact that it's a golden ale like some I had that tried hard to be golden stouts. It is simply a grainy ale with light coffee flavor, and feels light enough to be sessionable. I could have this again at the right price, as a thrown in, a freebie, or when my mood just wants something goldeny but with some roast and I can't really decide. So I then would settle on this to take to a spring or fall outdoor gathering.
3.1 Eh. Medium coffee body, light color, bit the flavor is just blase. Nothing to make me repeat. Too much coffee.
3.7 pours a rich clear deep gold with a decent off white head. aroma of grass, hay, malt, and a hint of coffee. Great taste. Starts with the standard malty ale, but the coffee fades in and lingers. Really an interesting combo. Lightly bitter. Good beer!
3.8 The aroma is a caramel malt with subtle hint of coffee. The body deep clear gold with light head. The coffee comes out in the taste with a stronger roasted character with a caramel takes a back seat but helps smooth out the finish.
3.6 Pours a clear golden orange on tap with bubbly white head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma of light roast coffee and sweet caramel malts. Taste is more of the coffee, light earthy bitterness, a hint of fruity yeast and perhaps dark berry from the coffee. Light, but flavorful, pretty decent.
2.7 Tallahassee, Fl - Publix Supermarket - Killearn - 12 oz bottle. Dull, medium gold pour, no head, Aroma has ome b=very brief coffee hints, a touch of toffee. Flavor is rather bland and uneventful, brief coffee candy flavor, not real coffee, a touch of gumball sweetness. Mouthfeel has a decent crispness to it. Just did not do it for me.
4.1 B-. Pours a surprisingly golden color with white head. I saw coffee in the name and expected a much darker color.
3.2 Hazy golden color with a medium white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Spices, coffee, honey, dry finish.
3.2 Bottle. Pours clear rich amber, small foamy off-white head, malty taste with faint coffee beans taste, high carbonation, medium bitter malty taste with coffee flavor, thin body, long bitter coffee finish. Not bad, but not great either.
3.7 Pours a clear deep burnished gold with a full white head. Nose is coffee. Taste is coffee and malt sweetness. Body is medium full. Slight bitter aftertaste - coffee? hops? both? 12 oz Botted: 7/28/17
3.4 Clear, golden pour with an off-white head. The aroma has mild coffee with chocolate notes. It has a medium body with smooth texture and lively carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter and slightly roasted.
3.0 Not enough coffee flavor but hops make up for that
5.0 Awesome beer with great, rich flavor highlighted by a modest coffee taste. Also, its low calorie count beer.
3.3 12oz bottle 9/14/17 (Friend)-41° in Shaker-Pours a hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of coffee. Taste of the same with a coffee finish as well. this light to medium bodied brew is all coffee. If u enjoy that then all the power to ya.
3.6 Poured from a 12oz brown bottle into nonic pub glass, a crystal-clear golden colour as promised, white foam which quickly subsided, no persistent head. It’s definitely all about the coffee, and distinctive Intelligentsia coffee at that. Big aroma, somewhat less assertive coffee flavour. I was pleasantly surprised by the real roasted coffee impression, not just wimpy green coffee beans cold-steeped in beer. The beer itself is a totally average pale ale, grainy, hint of Munich malt sweetness, but not much complexity and definitely not much hop character. Light body, medium-high carbonation, lingering coffee aftertaste. An interesting and unique balance overall, but not something I’d drink often or lots of.
3.4 This beer is OK. Some coffee, sweet body. Not too outstanding and a little lackluster.
3.3 Draft to taster in a flight from notes. Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild roasted coffee over a pale malt base, grainy, green coffee beans, straw, light spice, decent enough.
