Goose Island Green Line Pale Ale

Goose Island Green Line Pale Ale

Green Line Pale Ale is a honey-colored, immensely sessionable American pale ale with a pronounced, bright, American hop aroma and citrus flavor. Notes of biscuit and lightly toasted malt create the backbone for Green Line’s pleasant, crisp bitterness.

2.9 ? tasting: Aroma: nice as they are not overpowering green hops, backing with citrus. Look: larger top. Base – amber Palate: medium bodied with thinner sides. Somewhat shorter than average finish. Taste: up front caramel with this thin sugary feel. Mid accented with citrus. It is too sweet, like sweet amber ale.
3.0 Bottle. Nose sweet with lemony hopcit, toasty malt, bit of earth, medium dough. Pour orange-leaning but I could see some describing it as golden, head is tight soapy white. Taste sweet but dries somewhat, crystal and caramel, some dough, a bit bready in the finish and aftertaste, low but present spice, sparkles with occasional citrus, toast and a bit of earth toward the end. Flattish flavor profile, fullish body, blander on the hop end but crisp enough to please. [2018.05.27: 3.0]
3.0 12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with a medium sized off white head. Citrus and toasted grains.
3.1 A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light butterscotch, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light and smooth. On tap at Clybourn location.
3.1 14-APR-2018, draft @Goose Island Taphouse, Chicago.Hazy orange with a lasting, lacing, White head. Grape fruit, pine, malt, straw, caramel. A bit too malty to be really refreshing.
1.9 Found in Chicago. Below average pale ale. Really missing any true hop flavor.
2.4 From a bottle. This is a summer drink all afternoon beer. Pours with a nice long lasting head and good lacing. Light gold color. Bread nose and taste. Quickly vanishes.

2.8 Keg at Goose Island Taproom, Balham. Clear, deep golden colour. Aroma of soft fruit, some malt. Flavour has a bit of fruitiness to it, followed by some more grassy hop bitter notes. Quite drinkable.

2.9 Can 16fl.oz. @ home. [ As Goose Island Green Line Pale Ale ]. [ Courtesy of Nick by Serge ]. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, straw, cookie, sweet malt, light grain. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet malt, cookie, grain, fruity yeast - fruity malt. 3.1 2017-11-06. Crisp dark golden yellow body, small beige head. Aroma of cereal grainy malt, floral touches. Flavour has an odd overall character, fairly bitter after initial impression of English malt. Touches of orange and lemon. Average plus bodied palate, good carbonation. A bit rough. 6/3/6-7/3/13-14 On tap at Goose Island, Toronto.
2.7 Sone fruit and malt with hop nearer the finish.some honey and caramel and it is fruit punch fruity. Nice fuller froth in the suds but the body does not match up and an alkaline quality is apparant. Not an easy hop description the beer is bright and while adequate it's a little bit underwhelming.
3.2 Crisp and fresh on the pallet. Pours a medium amber with a little head. Hops are present but not overpowering. Nicely balanced. Somewhat bitter balanced with a bit of biscuity malt. Nice
2.8 12oz bottle from Kenny Road Market: gold pour, white head. aroma of sweet malt, honey, floral, bread. tastes are lemon rind, dough, toasted malt, bit of a metallic vibe.
3.6 Solid
3.3 Nice amber color; Medium body; Aroma of floral hops, grain/hay, & citrus; Flavor of sweet malt/biscuit, floral hops, and fruit/citrus; Finish is only slightly bitter; Not too bad.
3.3 (12oz bottle) AROMA: soft malt, cream cheese, touch of fruitiness, grape skins (a little sweet and sour), just a tad of musk/leather APPEARANCE: light medium core Amber, sticky white foam, visible carbonation, clear TASTE: roaste malt, dark toast, some coffee, some bran and dried veggie PALATE: medium body, fair amount of richness, oily smooth middle, dry and dark lingering on the finish, good balance. OVERALL: a well balanced pale ale, not sure bold/heavy but decent malt and hop flavor, not an award winner but I could see this being someone's every day ale.
3.4 Keg @BeerTemple, Amsterdam. 10-08-2017. Pours quite clear deep gold with frothy white head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Malty, herbal nose. Medium body, average carbonation, slick texture. Taste is malty, little hoppy. Ok beer, balanced, but nothing amazing.
3.3 Deep, golden color . Thin, white head. Light citrus and toasted malt in aroma . Malty taste with moderate bitterness from American hops. Decent.
3.1 Clear fizzy golden pour with a thin white head and light lacing .... aroma of biscuity malts, citrusy grapefruit and light pine .... taste is the same grapefruit, light pine and grassy hops with biscuity and caramel malts ..... has a bitter bite on the backend .... finish is malty with lingering bitter dry hop bite and grapefruit .... sessionable and forgettable
2.9 On tap at Toronto brewpub. Pretty typical American pale ale, on the lighter side. Slight sticky, caramel sugar. Mild hops and malts. Bit thin in the finish, but made it fairly refreshing too for a summer day. eh, it’s ok.
3.2 Bottle. Pours clear golden with large foamy white head, malty aroma with a hunt of citrus, high carbonation, medium bitter malty taste with little citrus flavior, thin body, long medium bitter finish. Not very remarkable.
3.2 Light amber, slight haze with little head. Bready, malty aroma with some light hops. A little citrusy, mild bitter finish.
1.3 I thought this beer was pretty stale and one that I wouldn't want to drink unless I really had to. Goose island has better beers than this so I wouldn't choose this to drink
3.0 On tap in some dive in Chicago. Light golden colour. Basically a golden ale, lighter malt bill than most American pales, hint of grain and slightly sweet, then some slightly light fruity citric notes. Low to medium bitterness in finish. Easy drinking although a bit too strong in alcohol (if not flavour) to be truly smashable. It’s ok.
3.0 Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Gold, off white head. Mild honey aroma. Sweet caramel flavour. Sharp citrus. Medium finish.
3.2 Pours a golden amber color with a white head.Biscuit, floral, caramel and pine aroma and flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a biscuit and caramel finish. Boring but inoffensive.
3.3 Bottle - Pours a clear copper gold, white head. Aroma of toasted grain malt, some light fruits, lemon. Smooth tastes of toasted bread, lemon, hay, hint of melon, decent bitter finish.
