Goose Island Honkers Ale

Goose Island Honkers Ale

Inspired by visits to English country pubs, Honker’s Ale combines a fruity hop aroma with a rich malt middle to create a perfectly balanced beer. Immensely drinkable, Honker’s Ale is not only the beer you can trust but one you’ll look forward to time and again.

3.2 Bottle from Asda. Clear copper appearance. Aroma is malts and spiced. Flavour is bitter, dry, malt, wood, roasted, orange and citrus.
God, indbydende aroma.
3.2 Refreshing light malt tasting ale
3.7 Colore ambrato, schiuma fine e poco persistente. Carbonazione media.
3.4 Belle robe ambrée, trouble (à froid). Mousse blanche moyennement persistante (fine pellicule résiduelle). Arômes caramel, croûte de pain, agrumes, thé vert. Première attaque caramel, biscuit, fumé réglisse. Agrumes, résineux en seconde bouche. Texture légèrement aqueuse (mais bon, 4.3%...). Carbonatation fine, moyennement abondante. Pas extraordinaire mais facile à boire.
3.3 Fruity hop good aroma
3.1 First sample from Goose Island. All 3 singles I bought say brewed and bottled in NY though, so I guess they have a brewery on the east coast as well? 4.2% ABV.....definitely something lighter for early day/night or dinner pairing. On the thinner side, about average for this style. Nice flavor and semi-smooth feel. Decent beer that I could drink a lot of, but not sure I'd really want a full 6 of this.
3.6 12oz Flasche. Dunkel oranges klares Bier, heller Schaum. Karamell, Süssholz Aromen. Kräftige Bitternoten. Karamell und ein Hauch Lakritz. Lange bitter. Klassischer Inselstoff, gebraut in der neuen Welt.
2.7 Bottle at Travelodge Winnersh, golden/amber with small white head, lightly cloudy. Aroma is citrus, american hops + roasted malts. Light bitter taste, long finish, medium body, average carbonation. Quite boring.
3.1 Some hop and malt aroma. Medium off-white head, lightly hazy amber color. A bit sour, a few bitterness at the end. Light to medium body, dry.
2.9 Birra bitter ale ambrata con schiuma fine poco persistente. Al naso, come in bocca, sapori fruttati.
Aroma a maltas tostadas, caramelo. Textura sedosa. Carbonatación media.
3.3 355ml bottle at Travelodge London City. Pours dark golden with a thin dissipating head. Light caramel malts on the nose with some floral and spicy elements. Not much of an aroma probably because it was too cold. Thin, watery body. Taste is pretty decent actually - bready, caramel malt backbone nicely balanced with a pleasant hoppy bitterness. Some floral and earthy notes as well. A pretty decent American take on an English bitter.
3.4 Nice ish not amazing!
2.3 Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma of dry spices. Taste is watery malt with slightly bitter notes on the back of the mouth. Palate includes grass and more unroasted malt. Drinkable, not remarkable.
3.4 Mediocre beer. Refreshing because of the hops, a subtle caramel touch so very drinkable
3.6 Very decent one, hoppy fruity but not overly bitter. Pours orange copper, with a quite well balanced malty backbone (light caramel) and nice hoppy perfume
3.2 Picked this up in a bottle at the local supermarket here in Sapporo, Japan. It was a dear $4.25 and I know for sure there are better local, cost performers, but I wanted to try this one again. Poured a great golden orange with a nice creamy head. Nice caramel nose with the promised fruity hoppy aroma. The image of a pale ale as I imagine it. Tastes of breads and the caramel malt keeps it drinkable against this well hopped ale. Goes well with foods, not overly hopped. I like it, If I’d brewed it, I’d certainly brag... but the price tag is an unavoidable barrier for Japan. No repurchase here.
2.9 473ml can from LCBO Dark orange, light head Very weak and watery feel, no substance Tries to be an English bitter or ale, but it lacks quality
2.8 Pint on tap at Fratelli Fresh, Darling Harbour Sydney. Looks the goods, apart from the too high carbonation. Foamy head, golden amber beer. Excellent nose of weet bix, biscuits, and caramel. Thin body with a mild sour taste. Finish is metallic and lasting. Mouthfeel is harsh and prickly. A real curate's egg. Looks like a bitter, smells like a great bitter, but drinks like a cheap lager. Like a beer designed by a computer.
3.1 Pours clear chestnut with a full, beige head. Aroma is dried fruit and light roast. Taste is light raisin, moving to roast and a building hop backbone. Finish is roast. A decent bitter.
3.8 A single tall can from Viti Liquor in east Vancouver. An orange amber beer with modest off white head and a malted nose. Sweet, mellow malt flavors with a trace of hop bitterness. Not really my style of beer, but enjoyable anyhow, and very decent for the Bitter style. I rate it somewhat more flavorful than Fuller’s ESB. 3.8
2.9 Wenig Frucht, dafür deutlicher Malzkörper, hinten bitter, sehr angenehm zu trinken.
3.7 Earthy hop aroma. Flavor is great balance of hops, floral, and sweet caramel malt and a little spice or earthy taste.
