3.8 Keg at The Oregon Brewers Festival, Portland, OR on 24/07/2008. Nice big spicy notes, with clove, cardamom and cinnamon on the nose. Big body and lots of dried fruit and fruitcake flavours.
3.5 Beige creamy head. Deep amber colour. Aroma is hoppy, malty with fruity (apricot) and funky notes. Flavor is malty with fruity ( apricot and apple) with light spicy tones, ending in a moderately fruity and slighly sour finish. Medium bodied.
Aromas a levadura, manzana, uvas, malta.
Note caramel. (Rappel celle d’Orval ?)
3.9 Pours clear shimmery light orange, big white head. Aroma is strong cloves, hints of raisin and dried apricots. Taste is moderately yeasty, light tang aftertaste, hints of sweet malt, funk. Creamy but fairly light. Pretty nice.
2.4 Pours dark amber with a thin white head. Roommate did a shit job opening it. Aroma of yeast and malt. Taste has slight traces of lactose and ferrous elements that grow as the taste fades. Palate has herbal and iron notes. Interesting.
4.1 Mooie fles, mooi etiker. Bijna oranje kleur, stevig schuim. Erg goed bier.
3.3 Belgian style beer that is put well together. Fruity flavors with mild carbonation and very week bitter finish. Not bad!
3.5 Backlog, golden orange with a medium to large head. Nose and flavor of florals, brett, barn, grass, pepper, fruit, and Belgian yeast. Medium to fuller mouthfeel with tons of carbonation.
3.8 Sabor agradable no tan intenso , buen aroma
3.6 2016 Bottle shared at home. Hazy orange appearance with thin white head. Aroma is malt and hoppy aroma. Flavour is yeast, slightly fruity and hops.
3.5 Thin off white he'd left a spotty cover on a dark golden still body. Minimal aroma of oak & sour hints. Bitter hoppy tastes with banana, clove, spices & light fruitiness
3.6 Bottle. Orange colour with white head. Yeast and fruit aroma. Yeast, fruit, hoppy, slightly sweet taste. Medium body.
3.0 April 2019. MGM National Harbour. Draft.
5.0 Great funk that I’m searching for, I really enjoy this beer. Light golden color, slightly sweet. Love the funk!
3.7 Bottled 2015/08/14. Hazy copper with large off white head and sediment at bottom. Fills the nose of moldy basement, cheese that is aged in a cave and barn horses. Flavor is mild, and bitter with sweet lemons mixed in with savory spice. Crisp and clean in the mouth.
3.8 $2.79 bottle, Total Wine, Gainesville. I know I've had this before, don't know why I didn't rate. Pours hazy golden-amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is lemonade, funk, hay, earth. Flavor is funky lemonade, caramel malt, hay, earth, dried flowers, light yeast. Very pleasant, lots of flavor.
3.0 355 ml bottle @ home, served in a teku glass, due date: unknown, bottled: 2017/06/14 Aroma: quite intense aromas of slightly acidic white grape must, white grape, acidic wine, Brettanomyces. Some spicy overtones. Appearance: dark orange to amber color with some copper overtones, light beige quite creamy foam, made of small to big sized bubbles. High head thickness with medium to high retention and medium Brussels' lacing. Medium haziness. Taste: low to medium sweetness, low bitterness, low to medium sourness. Flavors of slightly acidic wine, slighlty white grapes must, fruits, citrus, spices, some toasted malts in the backend. Quite well balanced. Palate: low to medium body, watery to oily texture, medium to high carbonation, quite long mainly dry finish with low to medium bitterness and the same previously mentioned flavors. Alcohol is very well hidden, no alcohol in the aroma or flavor and some mouth and throat warming. Low astringency. Overall: very good looking, quite weird aromas and flavors of slightly acidic white grapes must, slightly acidic wine, white grapes, fruits, spices. Not a great fan of Brett beers, but it's quite complex, loaded with a lot of layers of flavors and not a bad beer.
3.1 Bottled 0,355L. Dark orange color, unclear and hazy aspect with ligh bubbly and foamy head of medium duration. Sweet malt and caramel aroma, sweet young wine rumors, notes of grapes, cellar, aged riped fruit. Medium prickly taste, oily texture with notes of sweet alcohol and caramel, moisted cereals, stum, clea mold, aged grapes.
3.5 Slightly hazy orange pour. A bit darker than an average blonde, and also a lot more herbal
4.2 2014 bottle into a taster showing medium amber and a finger of slightly tanned foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of peach, nectarine and a harmonious note of Belgian yeast. The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Light brett and Belgian yeast with barely any sweetness. Very clean and refreshing while easy drinking like a well made saison.
3.8 5 years old bottle, thanks Jon. Darker orange pour, quite some foam there, thick and leaves good lacing on the glass while coming down. Funky tart nose, some deep dried yellow fruits, crystallised sugar there. Yeasty edge carries forward to the taste, lightly tart but feels also potent. Funky barnyard linger with light bitterness.
Carbonazione vivace.
3.8 Drank from a tap in Goose Island in Chicago ORD airport. A: amber color with thin head A: Malty scent, toast and roasted barley malt. Some scent of spice (cinnamon and clove), nuts. F: Abbey beer taste, malty, roasted spice and a hint of sweetness. M: balanced finish. Not dry. Overall: great beer to buy. Slightly lighter than other Abbey beers I had. Recommended.
3.5 Bottle from Hopt. Bretty nose. Aroma is bretty and malty with ripe (stone) fruits, toasted grain, farmhouse funk, light spicy, some caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a fairly dry finish. Body is medium. Bretty, dry and somewhat fruity, likeable brew.
