3.7 Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with minimal head. Aroma of hazelnut, vanilla, roasted malt, and caramel. Medium light bodied. Creamy slick texture. Some cocoa in taste as well. Very nice. Smooth. Almost beats Roque hazelnut nectar.
4.2 A very nice beer. Pleasant aroma, nice malty look, mildly bitter with a good honey aftertaste.
2.5 A dark, clear, red color. Caramel aromas. A light fruity, coffee flavor. Watery texture.
3.4 Bottle. Dark brown with a finger-wide beige head. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, molasses, and cocoa. Flavor is milder - nutty, tobacco, and chocolate.
3.1 12oz bottle pours a dark, translucent, deep mahogany brown with some thin, slightly off white head. Nose is very bready, crust, brown sugar, some yeast, some toasted malt, some root veg, a little soil. Flavor is the same, malty, caramel, bread crust, some toast, a little burnt milk, some overcooked root veg. Clean finish.

4.1 Pours a deep ruby hue with a foamy tan head. Aroma of caramel syrup and chocolate. Taste is sweet upfront with a roasted chocolate and caramel flavor that lingers dark and slightly smokey without too much bitterness. Very well balanced. Palate is neutral. Very drinkable.

3.8 Bottle. A nutty, chocolate malt flavor, but not overpowering. Very balanced but with lots of subtlety.
3.7 Light brown pour bottle to glass at goose island in Ohare airport. Choclate malty aroma. Light cocoa and nutty taste. Very pleasant. Have had it a few times before and always liked it
3.4 Bottle @ home, picked up at RJs Fort Collins. Pours a clear, orangish brown appearance with a dark brown head. A bit roasty, toasted caramel malty, light chocolate, vanilla, dessert aroma. Creamy, somewhat herbal/earthy hoppy, chocolate, toffee, caramel flavor. Pretty decent brew.
3.5 Brown clear beer with beige head. Aroma as Earth and soy sauce. Taste is well balanced. Malt, chocolate, leather and hops.
3.4 12 oz bottle. Brown and clear appearance. Nutty, malty aroma with milk chocolate, caramel, toffee and earthy hops. Similar flavor, moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body with a smooth, creamy feel and average carbonation. Not too bad at all, better than I remember.
4.0 Bottle Aroma-caramel, chocolate, Appearance-brown, clear, tan foam, Palate-medium body, slick feel, soft carbonation, bitter finish Overall-very good
3.7 Pours a dark ruby with a light tan head which quickly dissipated. Taste is chocolate, tobacco and roasted malts. Nice carbonation. Has more body than the typical brown ale. Relatively low abv allows for many to be enjoyed.
5.0 Appearance isn’t a good indicator on the taste of this beer, although it’s a beautiful warm color. Everything from the front taste to the understones is enjoyable.
3.7 Poured from 12 oz. bottle at the Goose Island pub on Pier L, Terminal 3 at Chicago's O'Hare airport. Clear, but very dark brown with a 3-finger khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma of nuts (especially hazelnuts), chocolate, roasted malt, toffee and caramel. Taste of nuts (again, heavy on the hazelnuts), chocolate, light citrus, roasted malt, toffee and roasted coffee. Medium body and medium carbonation. Sweet and malty balanced nicely by the nutty flavors and light citrus hops--exactly what a nut-brown ale should be and so few achieve.
3.3 Dark maroon with thin head. Nutty caramel malt aroma. Moderately sweet and medium bodied.
3.7 Bottle, courtesy of jmgreenuk. Pours a clear dark amber, brownish beer with a fair amount of off white head on top. Aroma is very nutty, hazelnuts, chocolate and coffee. Flavor is like carbonated nutella, which is a good thing in my humble opinion. Some coffee in the middle of the flavor. Very nice and enjoyable.
3.8 Bottle from Systembolaget, bottled on 02/24/12. Pours clear dark reddish brown with a small dense tan head. Aroma has milk chocolate, nuts, caramel, coffee, raisins. Taste is light bitter up front, lots of coffee and milk chocolate mid-through, finish is milk chocolate, nuts and light bitterness. LIght/medium body, light fizzy carbonation.
3.4 35cl bottle courtesy of and shared with JMGreenUK. Chocolate arioma. Thin creamy off white head. Clear amber pour. Enjoyable.
3.2 A pretty good brown ale. Aromas are roasted malt and nuts. Maybe a touch of chocolate. Flavors are roasty with notes of coffee and dark chocolate.
4.2 Dark reddish-brown ale. Has a malty caramel flavor with a nutty finish. Very enjoyable.
3.5 Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmigham. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a thin off-white head. The aroma is weak malt, leading to a medium bitter flavour with a liqourice, nutty, cream caramel palate with a hint of chocolate. One of the best nut brown ales i’ve had, but not THE best.
3.4 Bottle. Clear medium brown color, tan head. Aroma of nutella on toast. Taste is burnt toast, caramel. Not bad.
3.7 Dark brown pour with khaki head. Big roasted notes on the aroma, nuts, toast, cocoa, slight smoke. Flavor has a burnt caramel character with an earthy malt and hop backbone. One of the better American brown ales in my opinion.
