2.6 Draught at San Jose airport. Lemon gold with a thin head. Hops and malt in the aroma and flavour. Grainy finish.
3.9 This a really solid pilsner w/ big floral hop flavor and fat maltiness w/o being too sweet or heavy. It is a clear golden color w/ a thin head of fine bubbles and lots of lace. It’s full bodied but crisp w/ vigorous carbonation. It might be a hair overboard in terms of body to be perfect for the style but given how far off some breweries get from this style it’s really hard to complain.
3.2 [2/20/15] Draught at Gordon Biersch Mission Valley in San Diego. Clear golden. Decent grassy hops aroma with a bit of malt. Flavor has some sweetish bready malt and nice crisp grassy hops bitterness. Rather light-bodied. A decent, clean, Bohemian Pilsener.
2.0 I would drink this again.....if I was out of Blatz, Hamm’s grain belt, Crazy Shirley’s, Point Pale ale, Earthquake OR I was in the Detroit airport & this was the only thing available. Or not. You could do worse.......you know you could drink a bottle of donkey piss.....BUT your oh-so sophisticated palate could also do GREAT: you know.....drinking Blatz. That’s how I roll in these troubled times.
2.9 Growler - Hay and grainy smell with a golden color. Dry taste. Slight spicy taste, pepper taste. Not much malt sweetness or hops flavor. The spice flavor adds a lot of flavor to this beer, giving it a stronger taste then the color lets onto.
2.0 Aroma of graham crackers, metallic pilsner malt, very subtle hops and grains. Appears a translucent gold with no foam. Very bland taste bringing hints of caramel, golden malts, watery pilsner malts and bland hops. Overall, not much to say about this. It is what it is.
2.3 In pint glass at Cowboys Postseason game. Clear straw yellow. With almost no head. Aroma was nothing to boast about. Flavor was better than expected.
3.1 On tap @ Gordon Biersch San Jose. Clear orange pour with a white read. A rather bready and sugary nose, which is not quite what I was hoping for. A lot of apple, pear, and toasted grain. The flavor is kinda hoppy, I guess. Some decent enough grass notes. Mildly floral. A lot of bread and sweet cereal grains otherwise. Meh.
3.5 On tap at Cheeseburger in Paradise 261214. Decent enough as far as pilsners go. Good strong colour and the flavour was pretty good as well. Good to see a Pilsner with a bit of body to it.
2.4 12 oz. bottle from BevMo. Nose of light malt and cereal. Grassy and hay-like taste on a malty base. Light floral hop bitterness comes in with a dry, slightly skunky finish. Just okay.
3.0 Colore dorato pils classico. Schiuma persistente fine. Brillante. Erbaceo. Miele acacia. Equilibrata
2.8 On tap at Gordon Biersch, Atlanta. Clear golden with small white head. Smell is light grain and hay hops. Taste is grain with bitter hoppy finish. Dry with medium bitterness and medium carbonation.
3.5 On tap at GB Columbus on 10/1/14 before the Blue Jackets game. Clear gold pour with a medium off-white head. Malty nose with lemon and crisp noble hop notes. Malty flavor with slight bread and lemon before a crisp and bitter noble hop finish.
2.6 not a bad pils. light floral and drinkable, but again, nothing i’ll go out of my way for. a decent party beer, no more, no less. probably won’t revisit too many of there’s...save for the CostCo mixer!"
3.7 Pours two fingers of head on a clear light straw colored body. The aroma is metallic dry grain, good. The taste has that nice dry lemon bitterness with just a touch of malt sweetness in the middle. Finishes with a sharp bitter note. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. Great profile and balance.
3.1 On tap at Gordon Biersch, Buffalo, NY. Straw with a grassy aroma; strong grainy body; and a clean finish. A pretty good pils.
1.4 Boy, does this one bring back childhood memories. The drinking age in New York was 18, I could get served at age 13, Son of Sam was stalking the city, and this was about the only thing we had too cool us off - especially when the big power failure hit. Don’t know where I’d find it these days.
2.6 Mild aroma of bread and some spices....not that pungent. Clear golden yellow with ultra white head. Sweet bready malt followed qucikly by a spicy bitterness that is thin. Finishes almost dry with the same bitterness. Fairly plain but not bad for the price.
2.6 Standard Czech Pilsner. I never really care for these, and this is no different. It has a mild bite, but not enough to make it interesting. Never again.
3.0 Draft. Light golden/yellow body with a white head, mostly diminishing. Aroma of toasted grain, herbal hops, minerals, straw. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Passable as a czech pils. Malts come off as somewhat raw, grainy.
2.6 Pours a clear gold with half finger head which quickly fades. light carbonation. Aroma is metallic with very light hints of caramel and nuts. Mild roasty nutty flavor with a slight hoppiness on the back. Honestly not much to write home about and better social beers are available
2.1 OK for style. Noticeable bitter saaz hops. Golden amber pout with OK head and lacing. Bitter and slightly astringent finish. Average carbonation. Tap at brewpub in DC.
1.0 Tapped at Gordon Biersch at the San Francisco international airport. The beer came with almost no head in a weizen glass. Color is clear golden no head. Aroma is malty, a bit of corn malt, some sweet caramel. Taste is malty with a bitter finish typical for german pilsners or canned industrial pilsners. It is no pilsner czech style at all not even near it, it tasted like a german helles and a bad one, too.
3.5 14 oz draft at Gordon Biersch DCA. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of malt, spices, bread, wheat. Tastes of spices, wheat bread, caramel. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
3.7 Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours clear golden color with a billowy white head of foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading to leave a light level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – A lightly toasted malt and biscuit aroma mixed with a little bit of a caramel smell are the most pronounced. Along with these smells comes some other aromas of a light floral and grassy nature. Taste – The taste begins with a crisp lightly toasted malt flavor with a little bit of a corn and caramel. As the taste advances it bitters up some with flavors of a grassy and hay-like nature coming to the tongue. Along with these flavors, some other hop flavors of a floral and a bit of lemon citrus come at the very end, leaving a rather crisp and drier flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that slightly higher. For the mix of sweet malt and grassy flavors the feel is rather good as it maintains enough thickness to uphold the flavor all while the carbonation helps keep it more refreshing and crisp. Overall – A very easy drinking and nice crisp brew. This is one great brew for the summer months when sitting outside and enjoying the world.
2.8 Draft at Gordon Biersch Colombus in a 4 oz taster. Pours a clear yellow golden color with a large white head. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, grassy notes, leafy hops, crackers. Crisp and cold, but not much going on flavor wise.
3.6 Pours yellow with a white head. Grass, grain, floral, light hop and malt aroma. Grass, grain, floral, light hop and malt flavors. Light body and average carbonation. Mild bitterness and a light floral and grass finish.
2.8 Bottle pour. Clear golden color with a decent head and good lacing. Light malt and citrus aroma. Light body. Light malt taste with a hit of floral.
3.0 Tap pours clear gold with white head. Aroma is caramel, nut, bready, and slight fruit. Tastes is light corn, malt, herby/spices. Bitter finish with a medium light body.
3.2 Draft. Golden with thin white head. Very light aroma of malt. Light body with bold hop bitterness upfront and dry finish.
