3.7 on draught at GB in broomfield co, nice crisp and hoppy. i liked their version of the style seemed to be right on with the czech style
3.3 Draught. Clear, medium gold, white head. Clean, malty aroma, citrus, faint diacetyl, hops. Dry, light to medium body, medium bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty, citrusy taste, butter, hops. (2012-05-06)
3.0 They must have pulled this one out of retirement as I had it fresh on draft in the San Francisco Airport three weeks ago. Pours clear yellow with an ok head. Aroma and Flavor is of clean honey, marshmallow, and Saaz hops. Body is medium with a clean finish. Highly enjoyable.
2.9 Aroma is a sweet bready malt. Taste is a very bready malt. Overall very drinkable.
1.9 From old tasting notebook. On tap at San Francisco brewpub, part of the sampler. Clear, light golden color with some chill haze and fluffy white head, little lace. Aroma of grain, grass, very faint hops and peppery yeast phenols. Flavor is fairly true-to-style for pilsner as well, though thinner and less complex than classic German examples. Better by far than most macro adjunct lagers, but a pretty weak beer overall.
2.3 Clear dark golden pour big foamy white head. No nose to speak of. Earthy malt. light watery body. Lingering bitter finish. Almost a little oily . Finish is unpleasant.
2.2 En sfo con gap a final de los 90s. Puta ya tenemos un par de millas encima. Pau gasol culero
1.9 At the Bollingbrook, Il location, 2of6 samples. Another shitty one. Similar to the Export they have, a bit more carbonated. SUCKS just as well.
3.9 Gordon Biersch Brewing Company--Pilsner--Crisp Golden Lager--2004--12 oz. Bottle. 5.30% ABV--35 IBU’s. (4.0 / 5.0) Pilsner. Mild lacy head. Clear bright light golden color. Tangy floral Saaz hop front. Crisp smooth creamy mild dry sweet buttery pilsner malt mild citrus fruit body. Clean balanced hop citrus end. Tasty. Sampled 5/16/2004.
2.3 Why did I pay $8 for this in the San Fran airport? Pours golden yellow with thin head. Mild malty aroma. Fairly awful cornish flavour. Boring and derivative.
3.1 This beer taps me on the shouder for being a authentic pils. Aroma is not very impressive, but the style usually doesn’t usually do that. Looks pretty good in the glass, high carbonation. Smooth with a good touch of hops, but it is a little lower on the bitterness. Overall it is done very well, I just think they toned down on the hops to make it more appealing to the general public.
3.1 Serving: Draft. Appearance: Deep gold color with a frothy white head. Aroma: Light malt and floral notes. Flavor: Crisp and clean but a little heavy with the malt. Good dose of malt sweetness paired with grassy, spicy hops. Palate: Medium-high carbonation with a light mouthfeel and a medium-short finish. Overall: I think this one is a bit underrated. This is one of the more solid examples of a pilsner I’ve had lately.
2.8 Full golden. Heavy skunky pils aroma. Full malty taste and muthfeel. Good body without being too heavy.
3.5 On tap at Reagan International Airport in D.C....Clear gold color...Mildly hoppy aroma...Clean crisp mouthfeel....Grassy and a bit grainy in the flavor...Lingering mild hop finish...
3.0 Draught in Washington DC location: This one pours a clear golden color. There was a big white head on it that left a lot of lacing. The aroma is decent, but milder. It is earthy, with some malts and a hint of hops. The taste is good also. A touch malty and earthy, but needs more hops.
2.6 Draught at San Francisco Airport. Dark gold with a large foamy head. Not much of an aroma, just a touch metallic. A dry palate, but a bit thin. Grainy malt flavour with just enough hop to make it interesting.
2.4 Drank from the bottle...not much of an aroma...light, clear golden color, very simple, hoppy taste, with a hint of sweet...not much to matter. Light and refreshing without having to commit. No flavors in particular come to mind. It was hot out, so it was refreshing.
2.5 Location: We have a bunch of these in the metro DC area, I think I’ve prob been to 3 of them, including the one in "Downtown Rockville" that I visit pretty often, I’ve had this one on tap there Overall Impression: Very standard/average/(Insert adjective here) Pils
3.3 Tap at the San Francisco Airport location: Golden pour with good clarity adn a dense off white head that sticks around. Sweet pilsner aroma- some vegetal malt character, mild flowery saaz notes- clean. Rounded flavor with a crisp light palate. Firm malt base is reminiscent of sweet potato- evident herbal saaz/ peppery hallertau bitterness balances the pils base. ot far off from Pilsner Urquell. Solid, and a bit underrated.
2.6 It was not bad or offensive, but there was nothing that I really liked about it.Typical pilsener flavors/aromas.
1.9 Bud...weis...er. This one really didn’t impress me. Draft. Very macro lager-like. Yellow color with little head. Grain and some grassy hops on the aroma. More on the flavor, with pale malt and nothing too special or tasty. Average palate. Below average beer.
3.0 Draft @ SF location. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. Has a malty grainy aroma wit some grassy hoppy hints. Sweetish malty crisp grainy flavor. Has a sweetish malty grainy finish.
3.6 Some grassy and grain aromes. Pours a golden color and the white head disipated to nothing with a bit of suspended sediment and some action. A grainy taste blended with a hop flavor of weed and grass. Almost medium bodied, some resinous and a minor buttery feel, with a lively and comfortable carbonation. A decent and different Pils in the Pils changeup.
3.3 On tap at Palo Alto. Pours a translucent golden with a medium creamy white head. Aroma and flavor of noble hops, cereal and bready grains with hints of citrus. Moderate hop bitterness. A solid Pilsner.
3.2 Pours golden from bottle. Crisp aroma and good carbonation and clarity. Flavor is some grass, sweet malt (similar in other GB beers) followed by hop finish and then a dry malt tang.
3.3 Bottle. Dark red / brown. Grainy slightly rich aroma. Flavor is rich, and sweet grain, light toasting.
2.4 On tap at Colorado Springs airport. Yellow color. Small head of small bubbles quickly fading. A little bit of skunky Saaz hop aroma. A little vegetal and corny. No crisp clean pilsner bite. Kind of yucky. A little dishrag in the aroma.
3.1 Golden yellow, sweet, malty, grassy hops, grainy, citrus, refreshing crisp finish.
1.8 not really worth a rating. tried this as a beer whore and didn’t really enjoy anything there.
2.8 Draft. This premium lager was sitting aside several mass-market lagers. The choice was easy and this premium lager turned out to be easy drinking with lots more taste than its competitors on tap. Not to say this was extraordinary because it wasn’t. But it was above average. Medium yellow body with a short, white head. The aroma is lightly malty with some notes of grain and lightly hoppy with notes of grass and flowers. The flavor is moderately sweet (perhaps overly so) and lightly bitter. The finish remains sweet and only lightly bitter. Medium body and watery texture. Plentry of carbonation.
