3.4Weirdly light, normal-lager-seeming brew with relatively nothing much going on, except the 120% stronger kick. Certainly drinkable by my standards (16.9 oz can, nachtwinkel Elsene)
2.1Horrible filtered looks, grey head. Sugar, full of alcohol, ethanol even. Ricola candy, alcohol heat. Horrible aroma but taste is somewhat acceptable. Just alcohol and those Alps herbs, but I expected a dreadful alcohol water taste. So still poor but I could finish the bottle. (33cl bottle from Comptoir Ferme de Mont-Saint-Jean)
1.9Nov 2015 - 500ml can picked up in a petrol station in Brussels, shared in Steve’s car. As ’Gordon Finest Platinum XXXtra Strong’, 12%, BB Nov 2016. Everything about this beer exudes class. Dark amber orange, clear, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is apple skin, grains, background vinegar. Cheese on crackers with an apple chutney. Smells of the middle classes. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is paper, cardboard, white pepper, dry. Not too boozy given the 12%. In Belgium, it’s possible to pick up far better beers that are much cheaper than this. So what’s the point?
2.0Can, picked up from a petrol station on the N6 outside of Brussels, boosted in the passengar seat of Rilesters car from a paper cup, 21/11/15.
Clear golden with a decent egg shell white covering.
Nose is grain, malt, booze, hint of caramel, light pish, bready malt, fruit rinds.
Taste comprises grain, semi sweet malt, harsh booze tones, raw alcohol.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close steeped in booze.
A touch harsh but ultimately good boost juice.
1.6Bottled 330ml (from BBF, BB 11/2016)
Clear amber-golden color, small white head. Aroma is skunky and grassy with notes of cardboard. Medium-bodied. Green apple, harsh alcohol, like C-grade vodka flavor, some paper. Lacks totally finest Belgian yeast flavors. Booze bomb.
2.8Clear golden liquid, average head. Aroma of citrus. Medium body, average carbonation. Taste is sour and a bit sweet, with a very strong taste of alcohol.
Mala.
1.8Foam: with almost no head.
Colour: clear golden colour.
Aroma: fruity and malty, alcohol.
Taste: malty, fruity, some metallic tones, a lot of alcohol, bitterness is also present, hard to say more, don´t try it, I just want to know what kind of beer are there still drinking strange individuals here in Bruxelles, it really warms up, reminds me similar Amsterdam Maximator which is malt liquor too, but in this case Gordon is much better.
1.8Light amber with samll white head. Malt aroma. Strong lager bitterness, unfortunately with alcohol notes. Not worth its name....
1.2330ml bottle. Clear amber color. Medium size, white head, stays. Sweat, hop extract, sweet, malty, alcohol in aroma. Malty, sweet, marmalade, apples in taste. Copper in aftertaste.
1.0330ml bottle (Wines of Galillee, Tallinn) - shared by that ubersadist Marduk!
Even before opening, the green glass bottle gave me warning signs, no sign of beer inside it, so it’s clearly pale. -1 because of the paleness of the glass, this is not produced and packaged in order to survive storage. Even before pouring, the smell from the bottle was a horrific limey strong lager aroma. After pouring it’s a total boozy horror, and again strong-lagery corniness. Taste is tongue-driblingly disgusting. After I got this shit on my tongue, I no longer wanted my tongue in my mouth. Rough, chemical, boozy. And by boozy, I mean it’s even spirit-like, it’s actually hot. This is a truly horrific brew, I don’t think I’ve ever had a strong belgian so bad. Anyone who gave this more than 2.0 is now immediately out of my respect list - you know nothing about beer. No more than "Anthony Martin" do at any rate. Ugh, and the nasty limeyness never leaves. One of the worst lagers that wasn’t a beermix I’ve ever had. Is this a beermix of shitty lager and methanol? Cna’t tpe, goinh bl;imd
1.650 cl. Can. Clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel and alcohol.
2.2Clear orange golden, small white head that quickly dissipates. Weak nose of malts, perfume and sweetness. Flavor is metallic-perfumey notes and malt, sweetness, spice. Peppery-alcoholic finish. Alcohol, pepper and metallic notes linger. Mouthfeel is almost dense, oily to dry. Alcohol steamrolls the finish. Almost out of the hobofuel league, but not quite. "Finest Platinum" feels like trolling at this point.
2.2Birra selvaggia e poco rispettosa. Biondo ocra senza testa, abbastanza torbida all’aspetto. In bocca è dolcissima, come melassa.
2.6Sample from tap @Kulminator. Pours clear golden with white adhesive head. Sour, fruity aroma. Taste fruity. Light bitter.
1.8Botella de 33 cl, adquirida en Cerveceria Internacional. Color dorado. Sabor a alcohol, malta.
3.4Bottle 33cl. Golden with a white head. Strong pils aroma and some buxus, not nice (maybe it had been stored too warm). Also sweet malt is in the nose. Obvious a rich taste where there is no sihn of the strong alcohol %. Taste is ok but not outstannding and surprisingly a short finish.
1.3Draught at the 55 Drafts & More. In rishon le’zion, not nyc. Clear gold, white head. Smells of 12% abv and heavy on alcohol in the mouth too. Medium body, alcoholic finish and nasty. As nasty as i remembered it. But hey, it’s a rating. Pretty, nice to handle glass though.
2.1Another alcoholic strong lager in this series, with pretentious bottle, afterwards sold in 50 cl cans as well. Thin, bit creamy, off-white head, colour golden blonde with warm orange hue, clear. Rather weak, sweet aroma of orange peel, orange juice, honey, iron, lots of brandy- and rhum-like alcohol and solvents. Sweet sugary onset, orange, medium carbonation, quickly overpowered by an astringent, way too strong alcohol effect, which makes the finish utterly unpleasant along with the sticky sweetness from the beginning. It does not surprise me that the 50 cl cans mostly attract notorious alcoholics these days, who do not care about flavour at all as long as they can get drunk.
2.9Can consumed at Truck Festival, Steventon, Oxon, Friday 18th July 2014 Loz’s less than impressed reaction was, along the lines of ’what the hell is this’ - ’a 12% beauty’ I tell her. This is proper park bench material. Golden in colour, quite heavy, hugely strong few redeeming features but if you want summat that’ll send yer’ blotto look no further. A5 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 2.9
2.5Alla spina.
2.7Can from Belgian beers Antwerp.
Thin white head. Clear pale golden pour. Lots of alcohol. Ok.
0.7Solo alcol, puro tacchentissimo alcol.
