2.8 500ml can server in an ordinary glass. Pours a deep amber color forming a medium and creamy beige head. Low persistence. Nose is sweet and caramel. Very grainy with some grassy hops. Sweet upfront taste. Actually, sweet in overall. Strong notes of caramel malts and toffee. Light grassy hoppy bitterness. Heavy body. Average carbonation. Caramel in the afteraste. Medium to low drinkability. Too sweet and booze. No big deal as expected.
1.9 50cl can. Pours clear dark amber with a lasting, small, off-white head. The aroma contains caramel, sugar, some nuts and red fruits, and alcohol. It tastes heavy to medium sweet and light bitter, with an astringent, bit dry, alcoholic finish (the typical ’Gordon’s Finish’ which I’ve already encountered in the Finest series). Surprisingly light body for 8,4%, watery/sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. Not as bad-tasting as some other beers by Gordon, but never likeable. Wonder what those "finest ingredients" are...
3.3 Quite good. Slightly sweet, low carbonation, somehow sweet aroma.
2.8 On tap at a restaurant in Genoa. Pours red/brown with a small off white head. Aroma is spiced, malt, and caramel. Medium sweetness, somewhat tart bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture. Heavy going really and seems to punch above its abv - would perhaps work better on a park bench than with good Italian food...
3.2 Varias botellas 33 cl. En la antigua internacional Oviedo. Colección. Etiquetadas como Gordon Halloween. (r187) tomada en noviembre diciembre 2002. Fcpref 21..08..2003. Lote 01..39321H1. 8.8 vol. Alcohólica con cuerpo medio seco. No estuvo mal en su momento.
2.6 50cl can (6 II 2016). Perfect amber brew, one for the road. Pretty shabby, with a brownish look and easy spotted yeast nose. The flavours are medium sweet and bitter, with thin texture of modest carbonation and likewise body. There are keen notes of iron and fruits - an odd combo for sure. Although the alcohol volume is quite high (8.4% ABV), the mouthfeel is full of malts and water! A pitty. The taste still is long lasting and fine enough.
3.0 I’m not going to say this is a great beer, but put a craft name on it and say how you recreated a classic euro style and scores would have been different... Having said that, it’s too filtered for its own good. The red copper looks are okay, but the taste is flat and alcohol is way too prominent. On the other hand, it has a certain herbal tea appeal that I did oddly appealing. And it drinks surprisingly well. As said, not a good beer, but easy to bash just for its alcoholic heritage. (33cl bottle from Comptoir Ferme de Mont-Saint-Jean)
2.9 F: long lasting off-white, huge. C: dark amber to dark red, clear. A: grassy, malty, caramel, hint of red fruit. T: malty, grassy hoppy, caramel, hint of molasses, almost no alcohol tones, very drinkable, medium body, average carbonation, not bad at all.
2.7 50 cl. can @ home, bought @ Intermarché, Givet. Clear brownish red with an off-white head. Caramel aroma. Sweet taste. Cheap tasting and simple but not horrible.
3.3 Bottle@guren. Small head. Mahogany. Clear. Caramalty brown sugar. Very sweet toffe Caramalty flavours. Miss a country bitternees. Alcoholic staleness. Dry finish.
3.1 Drink cold (8°C) Eye: pours an reddish-brown color with a medium and quickly dissipating white head and high carbonation. Nose: not much other than hops Mouth: sparkly, grapes, prune tart and red berries. Palate: red berries again, black currant even and hops. Overall: very fruity and refreshing beer. You won’t feel the high percentage of alcohol.
2.8 Ambar oscura, cobriza. Aroma a malta y caramelo.
3.0 Brown color with a white head with short duration. Aroma has notes of caramel and toasted malts. Flavor with dry fruits hints, toasted malts and burnt sugar. Mild bitterness in the final.
3.0 No head but bottle slightly over experation date. Clear dark red colour with some ligtly red glow... smell sweetness cherry sugar. Taste also shows this... drabk @ buitenlust
1.9 Clear amber with medium beige head. Touch of cherry in aroma. Moderate bitter taste with some sweetness and touch of cherry taste. Poor of nuances.
2.1 Bottle sample. Clear deep amber with medium off-white head. Light aroma of cherry with some fruitiness. Very sweet flavor, cherry liqueur, sugary, notes of carob, very alcoholic. Flat, medium-bodied.
3.4 Small off-white head but persistent. Reddish brown color. Caramel and honey notes. Medium body. Nicely sweet and bitter flavour with long duration.
2.8 Helder roodbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is sterk en licht kruidig, caramel en drop. Blijft helaas niet lang hangen.
2.5 50 cl. Can. Clear amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, caramel and spice.
3.1 Una amber a bassa fermentazione veramente strong. di colore ambrato carico, schiuma fine e persistente, dai sentori molto caramellati, luppoli mediocri, buona persistenza
2.2 Mooie amberkleur in het glas. Geen schuimkraag erop. Smaakt een beetje waterig. Valt toch niet tegen.
2.6 Bottle. Clear reddish amber with off-white head. Aroma - caramel, sweet apples, apricots and candies. Taste - sweet, fruity, caramel, candy, quite clean but alcoholic and slightly medicinal. Light-med bodied, syrupy texture. Drinkable.
Secco, asciutto e lievemente citrico. Buona birra.
2.2 Botella de 33 cl, en Cerveceria Internacional. Color ambar. Sabor a malta, dulce, ligeramente a alcohol.
2.5 Bottle 33cl. Brown/red with a small white head. Almost no aroma, but hints of british malt, weak though. Considering the beer is rather high in alc/vol I expected a rich and powerful taste, but was quite disappointed. Very little taste and not very present. Short finish
2.6 Alone at home. Clear red brown colored beer with medium diminishing white head and only few carbonation. Alcoholic sweet herby aroma. Medium sparkling palate with some creamed hints. Finish is sweet alcoholic slightly bitter.
