Middels fylde. Søtlig, maltig smak, lett bitter brent karamell, rosiner og noe syltetøy. Middels lang.
3.4 330ml bottle gives as a Christmas gift from Johan - cheers mate! Sampled on the 3rd January 2020, poured into a tulip glass. Clear russet in colour with a big foam white head reducing to a thin covering on the surface. Warm yeasty bread notes present on the malty aroma. Thick mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts deliver a robust maltloaf base with sweet notes of ripe pomegranate, cherries and barley twist sweets. Slight tang of hops appear in the brief bitter aftertaste with hints of Bazooka Joe bubble gum and banana flavours from the Belgium yeasts. Finish is robust, warming and malty with fiery pomegranate and rosehip syrup notes on the palate - just marred slightly by a faint metallic tang right at the very end. A decent Belgian version of a Wee Heavy.
3.5 Clear copper body with a large, creamy, beige head. Quite strong aroma of dark caramel, Belgian yeast (or at least some spicy yeast notes), and chocolate. Strong flavour of brown sugar, dark caramel, Belgian yeast, alcohol, and chocolate. Heavy sweet taste with a moderate to light bitter alcoholic finish. Full body, syrupy texture, quite soft carbonation. Tasty stuff, but almost too sweet. [33 cl bottle, enjoyed 8 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Ullevål, Oslo]
3.1 Rami Rami is drinking a Gordon Xmas by Brewery John Martin & Brewery Timmermans at Jabeerwocky Takie,,, dziwne.
3.2 Smell-malt and ginger, roast. Foam- thin, bittersweet, gingerbread notes, caramel and acidic tones. Bit of non-alco feel for some reason. Medium to large head, creamy brown white color Appearance- nice cloudy bottle cap, red with white, bottle design is festive, simple and as I still have my festive feeling all things considered it will be rating of 4. I like when some effort is put into design. Quite dark red, brown color, mostly red it seems, high carbonation. From - Snifter Taste- medium strong bitter-sweetness, caramel, ginger, yeast and bit of that non alco feel, but in this case I do not mind. Quite sweet, with bunch of malt and some bitterness. Aftertaste is malt and bitterness. Interesting combination, I am not sure if I am fan of that, but it is enjoyable and I dont mind this combination of flavors. So all things considered a fine brew, but bit weird.
3.8 Bottle. Clear amber color With large creamy White mostly lastning head. Aroma is roasted malt. Sweet flavor. Oily palate.
3.9 Bottle. What I want from a Christmas brew, dark body and a sweet nose. Beige head which disapates quickly. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet fruity taste. Some may find it too sweet, but drink with a good Christmas fruit cake.
4.4 Fantastic Xmas beer just as it should be. Super heavy mouthfeel and super sweet. Strong and dark. Fruity. One for the re purchase.
3.6 Brown appearance. Aroma is brown sugar, malt and caramel. Flavour is brown sugar, bitter, sweet and caramel.
4.6 My favourite in the winter, so warm, strong and a little sweet. Make yourselves a gift!
3.2 Ciemne, kolor ciemnego bursztynu, obfita piana. Słodkawe. Karmel, lekko przypalony.
Aroma affumicato e dolciastro tipo prosciutto cotto. Rosso molto scuro, schiuma discreta. Gusto molto dolce, amaro appena percettibile pgr 3.7 Fg
3.4 Copenhagen 2/3 2019. 33 cl bottle from Ølhandleren from Give (web-shop). Drawing of idyllic little house with smoke coming out the chimney, snowy mountain top and a snow covered pine tree. Very Christmas inducing. Pours clear dark brown with medium-sized white head. Fairly stable. Settles as thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer and clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing. Aroma is sweet, a bit boozy, dark fermented fruit. Tobacco and licorice. As the beer warms up the sweetness is supplemented by a sharp sour bitter odor. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, texture. Flavor is heavy sweet followed by a more moderate but notable bitterness. It's not all Candy Store. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a while. Light alcoholic burn. Strong, sweet and dark. That usually spells "Christmas".
3.2 Bottle. Dark amber color. Medium head. In nose dark fruits, caramel, candy, banana. I flavor some vanilla, oak and caramel notes with some metal and spices. On sweet side. Medium body. Overall: ok beer but nothing too exciting.
3.8 Very very sweet. Maybe a bit too much for my liking but I guess it is a Christmas beer after all and it's definitely the case , on the alcohol front. Over all it's a good beer, definitely if you like your beer strong sticky sweet and full bodied.
4.2 Dark ruby-brown with a thick and creamy beige head. Aroma is malt, port, licorice. Full-bodied taste, malty, not too boozy, hints of liquor. Good.
4.3 330ml Bottles from Beers of Europe, Beersniffers Webshop, Saltburn by the Sea, Cleveland, MMM...Glug, Newcastle, and 750ml Bottle from Continente Supermarket, Portimao, Algarve, Portugal. 2022, 2018, 2008, 2007, 2005. Dark copper-red coloured with a massive white head of foam. It has a rich plum, cherry and dried fruity flavour with berries, liquorice, spices and a smooth, warming candi finish. Excellent!
3.5 Quite dark, tinged red, thin head. Burnt caramel aroma. Big malty taste dominates, but then some fruits come out too. Not bitter at all though. Very much like a fruit mince pie, and definitely festive. A little boozy, but no more than a strong fruit cake.
3.9 Bottle. Clear hazelnut brown color, lasting beige head. Phenolic, medicinal aroma, spices. Medium dry, high bitter, light sour taste, slightly ethanolic. lasting bitter finish, cracker, malty floral aftertaste. Low carbonation, thick texture.
3.4 330ml bottle from za razBIRAchi shared with Geri and Stefano. Pours just about clear with a thick multi-textured head, heavy lacing but no visible rising carbonation. Colour somewhere between garnet and dark brown. On the nose, faint but complex estery fruit yeasts underscored by intense caramel malt. In the mouth, strongly malty flavours with caramel and honey, bread and nuances of estery fruit, sweet, almost no hop presence, minimal bitterness with a long but clean finish and slight sweetness into the aftertaste, medium to syrupy texture. Overall, a rich, filling malty strong ale.
3.7 Bottle. Clear dark golden pour, small white head. Nose is crispy malty, hints of caramel. Taste malty with a spicy body. Average carbonation.
