Gotlands Wisby Pils

Gotlands Wisby Pils

Brewed at Spendrup’s microbrewery location in Visby, Gotland.

"A well hopped pils with higher bitterness.

Wisby Pils holds 37-38 EBU. The hop varietie used are Hallertau Perel and Saazer which are added at three different phases.

The beer is meant to represent the German school with short and intensive bitterness in the finish.

Wisby Pils is probably the only pils that is brewed on one part wheat malt and four parts barley malt."

Doft

Typisk blommig humlearomatisk doft med
en liten ton av bärighet och nässlor.

Smak

Torr smak med balanserad maltfyllighet och
litet inslag av citrus samt markerad beska.

1.9 Tap at Bishops Arms Östersund. A pilsner true to form but it didn't do it for me again
3.6 Ljusgul med fint vitt skum. Doftar fruktigt och lite brödigt. Smaken fyllig, besk, tämligen torr. Eftersmaken lång med markant beska.
0.5 This is the third beer I tasted from this brewery. I’m not sure I have ever had a beer that tastes less of anything than this beer. My best description is "dirty water", but even that is an insult to water. I got 4 bottles of this beer for free and I poured the other 3 down the drain. Now my drain stinks.
3.2 33 cl bottle, BB May 10th 2018. Crystal clear, light golden, thick white head, nice carbonation. Quite traditional Pilsener aroma. Nice mouthfeel, it’s dry and fresh, bitter and well carbonated. Taste is sharp and fresh, Pilsener malts, citrus and green apples. A Pilsener that at least try to stand out from the crowd.
2.0 Aroma eple, malt, noe sitrus, humle. Utseende lys gylden med hvitt skum som daler fort. Smak eple, malt, karamell, humle. Lett noe fruktighet. Kjedelig øl. tap på The Bishops Arms Luleå 40cl 5,0%

3.0 Bottle at Bådin Ølfestival, Bodø. The colour is clear straw with a small off-white head. Aroma with nice saaz hops, straw, grass, wet hay and is slightly spiced. Light flavour of dry hay, grass and hops. Has a slick mouth feel, light body and light to medium bitterness. Nice but light with a hoppy touch.
2.8 330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.0%. Crystal clear golden colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of floral hops. Fizzy mouthfeel. The flavour is first fairly sweet, but ends in a pretty distinct bitterness. Could have been worse.
3.2 Bottle. Pale golden. Floral, fine herby, bitter drink. Refreshing, liked the hoppy limey finish. Dryish, bitter grainy. Just hits the right spot atm. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.7 Nice flowery hop with a bit citrus. This is a highly enjoyable pils. No, best pils in a long time. Really takes hold of the whole mouth.
2.7 Clear and super light yellow colour. Really big, stable head. Aftertaste is largely bitter with some sweetness.

1.8 Bottle from Systembolaget. It has a "farty" smell that reminds me of eggs. Cleaner taste with some pale bread. Very light bitterness. Light body. the smell is off but the taste is better.

3.6 The colour is straw and the aroma is mediocre. But the taste has a proper pils bitterness.
3.0 Aug ’14. A 0.33 l bottle from Systembolaget, Upplands Väsby. It poured golden body with small head. Fine biscuit aroma, some fine herbal and peppery hops. Pleasantly bitter flavor, but not too much, actually, more sweet. A bit buttery, fine honey, some biscuit and herbs made it up. Medium body. Longer, bittersweet finish mostly following the flavor. Quite a nice pils!
2.9 Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Clear pale gold lasting thick white head. It’s an ok pils, some fragrance. A little bit of lager puke malt. Some good hop bite on the finish. Bit of biscuit. Fine.
3.6 Pours piss clear in the greatest sense of the word. Nice lager color! Could not be clearer and more inviting than this. Taste is noble hops that comes after a wve of malts. I like this being an pilsner. Nice beer! Bottle from SB.
3.1 Gotland drar åt sig all möjlig skit under sommarmånaderna. Med det i åtanke är den här existensen helt logisk. Den bör duga gott och väl åt dem som under sommarmånaderna nöjer sig med rosévin. Öldrickare rekommenderas att ägna sitt intresse åt andra drycker.
