A German style lager, our Bock carries a brownish color, a medium body, and a mouthwatering smoothness from the wonderful malt and sweet caramel flavors. Malty, nutty sweetness and subtle hints of caramel.

3.0Pours a deep amber with off white head. Caramel and toast. Kind of in the mail Bock area but not much German style flavor a mail bock is known for
2.6Tap sample at Omaha, Neb. location. Pours brown, off white head. Aroma of nuts and caramel. Roasted malt taste.
2.8Pour mahogany with a light tan head. The aroma has faint toasted malt. Medium smooth body with light carbonation. The flavor has light nutty malt and is very watery ~ common trait for all of their beers. Fair
2.8Blah! Reddish pour, malty aroma, & pretty watery mouthfeel. Not very good by any means - it is kind of drinkable tho.
3.2Draft. Pours amber with an off white head. Sweet and mildly bready malts, some toast and toffee, and just a hint of earthy hoppy bitterness. Decent.
2.9On tap in Cleveland (OH)
The second beer almost crossed over into satisfying territory. Of the more regular drafts I would probably go for it because at least it provides something beyond a handful of hops, malts, and half hearted flavors. If you were forced to visit a Granite City location with friends consider this your best option (or go for water instead).
Aroma / Appearance - A semitransparent mahogany core glimmers with ivory head holding down the warm aromas. Roasted malts, iced tea, cheap red anise, and generic gas station coffee fuel a blend of aromas that capture the interest for a brief period before they become dull.
Flavor / Palate - Roasted walnuts, nuts, and iced tea rinse the palate clean like a glass full of water. Burnt cookie dough rounds out a finish that hardly inspires the desire to order a full pint. Of the regulars this one provides the best experience but that’s not saying much for a place that feels more about the image than the product.
3.3Now known as The Bennie (Benedict?). It has a nutty flavor, a lot like a Brown Ale.
2.7Julie likes it smooth mild easy drinking she gives a 3.2.
2.5Tap. Copper pour with a small ring of head. Faint aroma of cherries, nuts, caramel, and toast. Tastes watery and boring. Very light caramel and cherry. Thin body. Eh.
2.99/10/2014. On tab in Troy MI. Labeled as The Bennie. Dark amber with a tan head. Sweet malty aromas with caramel and dark fruit. Fruity flavors, honey, malt and a sweet finish.
3.6Pours a dark cola with light carbonation and head. Strong malt aroma. Caramel flavor with light coffee and dark chocolate notes. Relatively clean mouthfeel with light caramel and chocolate aftertaste.
3.04 oz draft sampler pours amber with a off white head. Aroma is nutty and malty. Taste is mostly malts.

12 oz bottle pours brown with a off white head. Aroma is sweet malt. Taste is too sweet for my taste.
3.8Surprisingly good for a Granite City brew! Very forward caramel, nutty, toasty flavor that is very enjoyable. Thinnish body but very flavorful and tasty brew indeed. Refreshing. Nice darkish brown color too.
2.6On tap poured into a 24 oz glass stein. The aroma is a very mild somewhere in between toasty and burnt caramel malt. The hazy red-brown (caramel?) colored beer is topped with a very light white head which retains a medium-thin ring and leaves a fairly clear glass. The taste is overall mellow with a medium sweetness and a medium light bitter. There’s an above average, soft carbonation to the medium malty body with a light / creamy thin texture. A roasted caramel and grain come through at the finish with a touch of nuts and a bit of chocolate. It’s a pretty clean finish with a slight caramel aftertaste.
2.6On tap @ the Granite City Food & Beer in the Indianapolis airport, concourse A. Medium old-penny brown, miniscule head. Bready malts, more nutty than chocolatey, oddly. If I were guessing, I’d peg this as a brown ale.
2.9Draft, reddish brown with a white head, sweet taste with caramel, malt and a hint of fruit, dry finish, was hoping for better but this is an average beer,
3.6Pours deep reddish brown with a decent white head. Aroma is nice..malty and roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt and and slight caramel. A nice German bock.
2.7Light nearly clear brown. Real light body. Nothing memorable about this. Refreshing.
3.4tap sampler @ Troy, MI location. Pours a clear light brown with a small off-white head. Sweet malty caramel aroma. Thin almost watery mouthfeel, medium bitter. Sweet fruity malt flavor with caramel and some grainy notes.
3.2My favorite of the flight I just had here at the granite city brew and food at the Indy airport. This one pours a light amber and tastes like a weak coffee with hazelnut creamer.
3.5Tap at GC Madison. Burgundy tinted-brown with an excessive head. Sweet brown sugar aroma, maybe a touch of coffee. True to style, albeit a little thin and watery. Nutty, smooth lager tones. Smooth brown chocolate. Mild, decent beer.
2.9Tried at Granite City Brewery in Kansas City. Part of a flight. Found all of the beers to be watered down and mediocre at best. This was the best of the lot.
2.1Medium red brown with a medium off-white head. Lightly roasted malts, nutty, and light caramel aromas. Flavor is lightly sweet, quickly fading. Lighter bodied. Plain and simple, but not bad.
2.1ooh a heller bock, on tap at Granite City... what a lovely treat, oh wait not really. its a barely drinkable beer, with artificial chocolate and disenfectant taste.
2.0Had worse, had way way way better. Oh well, it was free and I like free ticks.
3.3On tap. Brown color. moderate head. Taste is mildly complex with toffe as the big takeaway
3.3Pours a translucent amber with a creamy off white head that laced. Aroma of soft pretzels and nuts. Flavor of the same. Nice and smooth bock.
2.7Clear brownish-red with short tan head. Aroma of raisins and dark sugar. Taste of dark fruit, molasses, and dark malt, short palate
3.0Brownish-red color. Aroma is average - caramel. Taste is sweet and malty going down with a good taste. Aftertaste is bready but not nearly as good.
2.4Poured from a pitcher into a cold pint glass. Smells slightly malty but overall a very subdued aroma. Great dark brown color with a soft gentle tan head. Taste is of malts and nuts with a forgettable finish. Overall good plan but disappointing execution.
