3.8 8th January 2012 Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Light palate, semi dry. Brett like sourness with well balanced lemon citrus. A touch of herb. Dry finish with a pinch of pepper. Pretty bloody good Saison!
4.2 A - Hazy golden-orange with a big finger of frothy white head. Fades very slowly. S - Sweet grainy and coriander and other spices, Belgian yeast, funky Brett, barnyard smells, lemon zest, honey. T - Sweet grainy malts with lemon zest, citrus hops, coriander and other spices, Belgian yeast, funky Brett, tart green fruits, honey. M - Medium bodied with moderate-plus carbonation. Smooth with a dry, tart, and estery finish. D - Nice funky Saison, Great Brett character and nice balance.
4.8 Excellent! A definite farmhouse feel to it, but in the biere de garde level of funkiness. Looks great. Taste is bubbly and spicy (not hot). Great.
3.6 Bottle. Hazy golden/orange color, thick beige head, looking pretty nice. Intense spicy and citric aroma, berries, pineapple, yeast, pepper notes, very good. After the nice aroma the taste lacks a bit, it’s not bad at all, but doesn’t deliver the expectations the aroma settled. It’s refreshing, exotic fuits, peppers, brett. Good body and overall still a very fine saison.
3.6 Quite a cloudy golden orange beer with a huge white head. Very floral and slightly herbal. A definite peppercorn aroma, some mild yuzu citrus notes, and a light tartness. Semi sweet malt on the palate with some bread notes. A nice citrus and pepper quality, subtle tartness, and very dry finish. Only a mild brettanomyces funk to this one.
3.0 Bottle from the recent cellar offerings, at Blue Monk. Very barnyard. In fact barnyard gets in the way of all else. If not for the style I would suspect skunking. Lacey, above average mouthfeel. Some taste with that horse. Not great drinkability.
4.0 Draft at The Boilermaker in Philadelphia, PA. Pours a cloudy dark golden yellow color with visible carbonation bubbling up and a two finger frothy off-white head that slowly fades into a lasting cap.  Streaks and chunks of soapy lacing left behind. Funky aroma with zesty spice, ground proper flakes, light fruit and booze.  Can pick up the peppercorns but they don’t overpower everything else.  Well integrated and nicely complimented by farmhouse yeast, light fruit and bread notes. Medium bodied with a complex and interesting flavor profile.  Zesty, pepper spice and peppercorns up front provide some zesty heat.  Somewhat chalky mouthfeel and a slight bready yeast flavor that lingers over the other notes without overpowering everything.  Nice amount of heat over funky yeast, light fruit, citrus and bread.  Really well done pepper beer that’s easy to drink.  Nice heat but no burn and the ABV is very well masked.
4.1 Bottle from Vino Wines. Pours a golden colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of Brett, lemon, pineaple, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with a great Bretty finish. Moderate carbonation and a dusty, dry mouth-feel. Lingering limoncello, candy floss and a wet cardboard flavours. Superb!
4.1 In short: An original an complex mix of unusual spiciness, bretty wilderness and exotic fruitiness. Wow! How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed approximately two months after purchase. The look: Half-cloudy dark blonde body topped by a medium white head with medium retention In long: Nose has a nice flowery wild/bretty component along with an intriguing spiciness and exotic and citrus fruits. Very inviting nose. Taste is has a full body crisp bready malt backbone, nice lively carbonation and fluffy pillowy mouthfeel, a slice of lime, with pepper and aromatic spices, dried citrus fruits, a good brett presence, passion fruits, a fresh baguette, dried bananas. Finish is dry and spicy. This beer is kinda hard to describe really, with its strong wild/bretty, fruity and spicy flavors, this is a beer that throws a lot of stuff at your taste buds yet it never feels like it’s all over the place and remains surprisingly cohesive. Excellent complex, original and refreshing beer. And today it is a hot summer day so after entering my rating I clicked the refresh button 6 times, doesn’t work, I’m still hot and thirsty.
4.0 Bottle. Pours cloudy gold, thin white head, nice lacing. Nose is very pretty, delicate spice and pepper, pears, tea, very delicate and lovely nose. Flavours of dry fruit, the Asian influence is very clear here, and I quite appreciate it... Bright and spicy, but with juicy fruit beneath. A top class Saison!
3.9 bottle. big potent brett aroma. pineapple. old wet hay. touch of leather. some melon and bubble gum. complex. melds together nicely. taste is bitter, abrasive grass, scorched earth, and apricots. touch of booze. nice beer.
3.5 Pour at Scott’s saison tasting, pour out of 12 oz bottle is hazy yellow with white head, aroma has notes of funky earth, grape, lemon, spice, slight vanilla, some biscuit comes through as well. Taste is a mix of sweet fruit, big ginger notes with spice, lemon and grapefruit coming through in the end, touch of pepper and earthy notes as well. Very interesting!
3.8 Bottle at Bierkraft with all the dads. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Sweet citrus on the nose, floral citrus, floral plum notes. Medium bodied, plums and funky fruit. Long musk. Musky, grain, toast, long musky finish. Easy drinking and tasty.
3.8 Bottle. **** MAJOR GUSHER ALERT **** I got about 4oz of drinkable beer after this one gushed all over my floor. Interesting aromas and I had a hard time pin pointing the smells - fruity, spices, floral, and some funkiness. Tastes of the same with a funky finish. Just wish I was able to get more in my glass than on my floor...
3.9 Pours clear golden copper with a nice off white head. The aroma and flavor both bring wild yeast phenyl characters to dominate. The aroma brings light sweet wheat field notes typical of the saison hiding under the wild yeast. The peppercorns are subtle but present on the flavor as well.
3.7 Bottle at bierkraft with Andy, pearl, jay and max. Pours a clear golden boy with thin white lacing. Aroma is light wheat and sweet fruit. Mouthfeel is thin with notes of lots of peach and other fruit, dry bitterness.
3.4 In der Nase gewürzig, zitronig und angenehm säuerlich. Startet zunächst süßlich um danach säuerlicher und würziger zu werden. Abgang sehr würzig, salziger Nachhall. Gutes Bier.
3.6 Pours hazy yellow with a creamy off white head. Aroma has farmhouse notes, hay straw, corn, brett, alot of spices and some rice when you think about it. Taste has straw, hay, saisonish dryness, brett, hops, lots of spice, herbs and rice/grains. Works fine!
3.9 On tap @ Boiler Maker. Poured a cloudy straw yellow with amber hues and a thin white head. Aroma is very floral along with hints of peppercorn, lemon zest, and subtle Brett funk. Flavor releases peppery spice, pleasant Brett, honeydew melon, and lemon. Crisp dry finish.
3.9 Hazy golden-amber body, large white head. Nose is full of lemon, peppercorns, grains, and soft, earthy brett. Flavor is similar with the wheat, grains, and peppercorns really popping. Medium to light bodied, dry and well carbonated. Quite interesting and enjoyable!
3.2 Aroma of floral, slight peppercorn, and a plastic wrap perfume. Pours bright orange with a good film. Taste is very harsh with a nice barnyard funk and flower petals. Not my thing.
4.0 Bomber poured a chazy gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of straw, citrus, barnyard funk, light spice and light yeast. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, barnyard funk, light citrus, light earthiness and light spice with a crisp dry lingering funky finish.
3.5 Strange beer. I got brett, clove, buttered popcorn, bananas, crackers, and herbs. Quite good until the aftertaste that lingers with butter and herbs. I liked it but it was strange.
4.1 Shared by GT2- thanks! Hazy amber pour with a beautiful rock white head. Dellicious earthen lemon and tropical fruits in the nose, with hints of cheesecloth and pepper. Crisp wheat and earthen brett in the flavor give way to lemon and orange peel, with hints of stone fruit as well. Medium body with pillowy effervescence and a fluffy body. Dry crisp finish- awesome!
3.8 I liked this. Smells nice - brett, honeydew melon, plus I got some ginger and peppercorns. Flavor was similiar - pepper, bretty, plus some sweet melon flavors. Nice dry, woody finish. Wish it was a bigger bottle...
3.7 Milky and kind of buttery. Nice bretty flavor. Fairly clean and interesting.
3.7 Bottle @ Scott’s Summer Saison tasting. Thanks so much Scott! Hazy golden appearance with a big white head. Spicy, black peppery, orang citrusy, quite spicy aroma. Peppercorn, orange citrusy, prickly spicy, earthy/herbal flavor. Quite spicy but nice.
3.4 Bottled. Slightly hazy golden colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is citrus, farmyard, mild spicy ang yeasty notes. Flavour is herbal, spicy, earthy, yeasty and some strange sweetness. Rather mouthdrying.
3.1 Bottle @ Scopey’s Pre-CBC Tasting. Slightly golden, hazy. Eggshell white head. The nose is barnyard funky ester, some yeasty and chalky saturated cheese. The taste is apricot, mango, some light angel foodcake and more cheese. The body’s light, the carb is prickly. Overall a decent example of a style I don’t give much love to.
