3.5 12oz bottle light gold in color white head aromas are floral and grass taste is grass and malt with bitter finish
4.3 Excellent IIPA. Huge amount of malt to stand up to the bold hops and yet balanced.
2.8 I normally love a double IPA but this one rubbed me the wrong way at many levels. The body was too heavy on the palate, like sugar syrup (though more bitter than sweet), the alcohol was too sharp, and the bitterness too unbalanced. Big, but I just couldn’t enjoy it. Bottle.
3.6 moderate citrus, pine, and faint malt aromas. dark gold and clear in color with nice long lasting head. taste is hop forward with notes of pine, resin, and lightly citrus. underlying rich malt notes
3.9 Rated as Alchemy Hour Double IPA. Amber to copper color with a modest sized, beige head. Tiny bubbles. Sweet, candied and caramelized grapefruit. Some tropical fruit scents as well. A little searching shows some faint scents of pale and toffee malt. Really smooth feel. Sweeter start, with some light fruit and pale malt. Middle has a hint of honey, alcohol, and floral bitterness. Finish is quite clean, with a mild malt linger. 2/13
3.6 Bottle shared. Thanks Gregg! Lovely honey and orange marmalade nose with some earthy notes in the background. Well-balanced and has a big malt profile on the palate. Doesn’t feel overly heavy, but very drinkable. More orange marmalade character. At first a harsh bitterness, but mellows out substantially as it warms. Good stuff.
3.8 Pours deep orange, closing on amber maybe. Aroma is not really floral or fruit - hops are more from the earthy and slightly harsher side. For some reason reminds me Põhjala’s Põhja Konn. Body is malty, nicely fragrant - which is unusual for such a big beer - and masterfully balanced with the earthy hop profile. Glad I could try this!
4.0 Beautiful double. Copper color. Thin white head. Great lacing. Nose is tropical, but flavor is more resinous. Well balanced bitterness vs malt. High ABV is well hidden. No booziness in the finish. Yeah Cleveland!
3.9 Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, MN as Alchemy Hour Double IPA. Pours a semi-clear golden orange colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of light grapefruit, tangerine, more tropical fruits and caramel malt. Taste is medium bodied with flavors of a solid tropical fruit-style IPA. Finish is semi-sweet with a lingering bitterness. Will turn into an American style barleywine if not drank fresh. Tongue shock recovery time, about 3 minutes.
4.0 Great beer,..................................................... .... ...........
3.9 Pours orange with big frothy white longlasting head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Above medium on the palate with not much carbonation. Citrus flavors and a really nice balanced finish. Interestingly despite the 9 percent ABV there is no booziness. I will be enjoying this again.
3.9 A lovely red/gold body with a healthy, well laced off-white head. A soft nose features fresh grapefruit and lemon with caramel malt. This beer has a really nice blend of fresh fruity hops including grapefruit, lime, kiwi, melon and orange. A mild soapiness is appealing. Pepper and light caramel malt round out the taste profile. The body is slick and slight above average in density. Carbonation is light but appropriate. The finish is fruity with a controlled sweetness
4.0 Rated on 7-24-2016. The appearance of this bottled beer is a medium sized semi-fizzy off-white head that is mostly lasting, bright amber transparent body, very fizzy, lively, fast rising carbonation observed, one ring of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, light pine hops, juicy, grapefruit, fruity, spicy, earthy, and caramel malt. The flavor presents medium-heavy bitterness, citrus hops, very earthy, grapefruit, fruity, and caramel malt. The mouthfeel of this beer is heavy and moderate carbonation. This beer is medium-full bodied. A very quaffable sipping beer with a very good taste. It is worth trying and it is a beer that I would drink again.
3.6 Strong pine aroma, but one dimensional. Also some caramelly malt. Just a little hazy with amber body and a two finger thick head. Pretty sweet taste, with some of the hop flavor and a soapy bitterness at the end. Medium body.
4.2 Draught pint at O’Riley & Conway’s Irish Pub in Janesville, WI, today. Darkish amber-bronze with a fine, delicate head leaving significant sugar-crystal residue as it and the beer recede very quicky, too quickly...super-fresh, big hoppy ripe pit-fruit nose, apricots and peaches and perhaps some mangoes, this is another indicator for me that Mosaic may be my favorite current hop variety, certainly for these strong, sweet IPAs it does the trick; also a bit of cedar or sandalwood, more complex as I take more whiffs than my initial nosing...on the front of the palate, very sweet and perhaps a touch syrupy, moderately bitter and just a very faint touch tart in the middle, with bitterness slowly growing but never dominating at the end as it would in, say, Ruination...this finishes with a highly enjoyable fruit-sweet and medium-bitter lightly dry character. Overall like many sweeter IIPAs it is a bit thick and overly juicy to my tastes, especially as it warms - which made me drink it perhaps a bit too fast - but in general the balance is solid, and this is highly drinkable and enjoyable.
4.0 Nice amber/orange color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of caramel malt, pine/floral hops, citrus, & some tropical fruit; Flavor of sweet malt, caramel, pine hops, tropical fruit, and citrus (notably orange); Dry finish & fairly bitter; Nicely balanced; Very good - enjoyed it.
4.1 12 oz. bottle from The Hop Yard, Raleigh (enjoy by July 3, 2016 so I just missed it by a few days). Dark orange pour with a frothy khaki head. Aroma of tangerine, grapefruit, wet grass, and toffee. The taste certainly features a bitter hop presence but there is a sturdy malt backbone that makes this almost akin to a barley wine. Tangerine, grapefruit rind, pine, caramel, and graham cracker are the noted flavors here. Nice beer!
3.9 Bottle from Whole Foods Arlington. Nice amber body with huge head. Nose is hoppy, sweet. Taste is hoppy and citrus.
3.5 Draught at Jet Rock Bar and Grill in Terminal B of PHL. Overt citrus aroma. Sweet malt, pine and citrus taste. Lots of residual pine.
4.4 Very well might be my favorite IPA Nice brown head...not too much carbonation, nice lacing. ABV is high but it doesn’t overpower the delicious flavor of this brew. I will def drink this one again.
3.9 12oz bottle. Clear orange Amber color with a white head. Tropical fruit funk aroma. Pine resin up front with a grapefruit finish. Medium body. Very good west coast IPA but could a little more hops.

3.7 Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear, deep golden with a white head. Piney, turpentine aroma. Rich, sweet, malty body with nice, tropical hops. Bitter finish but not to any extreme degree. Smooth and easygoing. 240516
3.4 Bottle. Pours a burnt orange color with white head. Citrus, fruity hops, tangerine aromas. Citrus, hoppy, alcohol heat flavors. Medium to high bitterness.
4.3 Appearance: clear pale amber with one finger of creamy ivory head, good retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pithy citrus, moderately resiny and dank pine, pale malt, floral, slightly earthy. (9/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (9/10) Medium-full slightly slick body, moderate-high carbonation, lingering moderately bitter lightly warming finish. (4/5) Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout. Nice example of one of my favourite styles. Fresh enough that the hops haven’t lost ground to the pale (and maybe a hint of caramel) malt, big bitter but clean in the finish. The higher ABV is nearly completely integrated, manifesting only as a slight warming in the finish. Big without being overwhelming, confident without being brash. I could drink a whole lot of these. (17/20)
3.4 12 oz. bb 07/03/2016 and indicates 9.0% abv. Orange-amber body sports a thin film of creamy bubbles. Nose is earthy potato, toffee, toast and sodden wood. Tastes of resin, earthy toffee, dried grass and light citrus zest. Long finish shows some lemongrass, booze and mint. Medium-plus body has smooth low-medium carbonation and a drinkable balance.
4.0 A sweet and very citrus-tasting double IPA. Beautiful looking, pours a very bright, clear amber with a lot of foam. The aroma is tangerines, cereal, honey, some alcohol. The flavor is juicy and bright. A lot of floral and candied citrus, sharp and bitter finish, and a hint of the 9+ ABV.
4.0 Tap at big hunt. Pours orange lots of head and tons of lacing. Nose is fruity and cardboard. Flavours of cardboard, grapefruit, dank. Taste big/med bitter light sweet. Full sticky body lively carbonation.
3.6 Pours a orangish yellow. Aroma of citrus syrup. Taste is grapefruit and malt. With a slightly bitter finish. Sturges speakeasy Harrisburg beer week.
2.6 Tap@Jolly Scholar, Cleveland, USA. Highly overaged, vinegar like aroma with honey. Deep golden color with small white head and clear liquid. Medium/strong, stale taste with honey and overaged fruits. Medium body with low carbonation. Overall, clearly overkill considering the overaged qualities.
