This smooth lager strikes a delicate balance between malt and hops in the aroma, palate, finish and body. It has more body and less hops than a Pilsner, and less malt and more hops than a Munich style lager. 30 IBU.

2.8Pours amber from a tap. Wintergreen/birch beer aroma, flavor is an oddly sweet birch beer, very thin. Okay beer.
3.5Solid flavor that goes down smooth. Would drink this beer again..............
3.8Bottle into flute glass. Amber with ok head. Yeasty aroma with some hints of grapefruit? Similar taste. Good malt balance. Solid larger

4.8Bottle. Very smooth, malty lager. Definitely sweet. Clean finish. Very well finished with no off-flavors. Many of the current IPA microbeers have a punchy, hoppy hook. They create a "wow" at the tasting, but they quickly fatigue the palate, and are ultimately not a drinking beer. This one is the opposite: unassuming at first, but so smooth and drinkable. Extremely well finished, and one of my new favorites!
4.2Very sol
3.7Mild hops with a nice balancing bready malt. A little malty sweetness. A lot of flavor for a lager.
3.3The goto beer if you are in Ohio area. It's everywhere and with a reason. Smooth, easy drinkable and a nice balanced taste.
3.7Found out of bottle. Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Strong malt smell. Great well balanced flavor and would certainly drink again.
3.4Twelve ounce bottle. Slightly bitter finish. Deep copper color, nice lacing and a zesty aroma to go with it. Part of the best variety pack that we have had in years. Nice malt thing going on here.
4.4Great Lakes Dortmunder, or Dort, as they call it, is one of the easier Dortmunder Lagers that you can get your hands on that is brewed stateside. It's also undoubtedly one of the very best that you can get from anywhere (some old-world German brewers are probably rolling in their graves). Dort pours golden and lively. It starts of with a somewhat doughy malt note that is quite traditional. Finish is traditionally bitter, but it's non-traditional in the American-style strength and earthiness of those bittering hops. Despite its popularity in the Michigan-Ohio area this proved slightly tricky to track down. Happily, it was well worth the effort.
4.0Appearance: dark amber; no head
Taste: slight hops & malt

2.9Gold pour with moderate tan head, decent retention, great lacing. Floral aroma and honey. Bright, slightly hoppy. Bit of malt near the finish. Thin. Not quite as crisp or clean as I'd like.
2.5Tap at Bar Symon, Dugges Airport, Virginia. Color is clear light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Grain, sweetness, biscuits, some distant hints of honey and malts. Shouldn't be at TOP50 dortmunder list, or TOP100 dortmunder list or TOP...,
3.6Bottle, pour is cleared called nice wait for me head. Malt, bread, a little honey. Very easy
3.3Pours a clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Good lacing. Bready malt flavor up front and a light hop finish. Medium body. Not my favorite style, but not bad.

3.312oz bottle in Cleveland. Poured clear amber with off white head. Light malt wheat toffee caramel hints. Nice.
3.5a bit on the hoppy side for an American lager. But it was truly wonderfully balanced. Crisp, dry and refreshing. Not overly Bitter but the finish is bitter enough that you don't just down it. A great lager
Second tasting pretty much thought the same as the first. Third tasting was a bit more bitter than I wanted
3.612 oz bottle from Virginia.
Pours with a clear dark amber body topped by durable head.
Hop forward and moderately bitter flavor.
Overall: hoppy for style?
3.3Bottle poured into a lager glass. Dark gold color with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, yeast, and a small amount of hops. Initial taste has a sweet character with citrus, grassy hops, and plenty of malt to balance. Aftertaste is lightly bitter with a little hay and grassy hops. Fairly light body and zingy carbonation. A lager full of flavor.
4.612floz bottle, BBD: 10.21.2017, ~$1.75 unit price, poured into a nonic glass. It appears a goldeny, golden, gold color topped off with an off-white head. Smell in my amateur opinion is of German malts - hearty, heath bread. I’ve had this before, so I know it is good, but I gotta say this is a phenomenal beer in the traditional-pale lager realm of styles. As is the case with pilsners (or any style), many can be pretty good, but when one really hits the spot it sets itself off from the rest. This is that kind of beer. Perfect light-medium body composition that is also full flavored in honey-buttered bread flavor. Mmm...good, a wow beer for me.
3.5Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Deep gold. Bready cereal aroma. Same om the first sip. Mild spice with honey finish.
4.5This is what I’m talking about. What a nice Lager style beer. The malts and Hops balance together smoothly to make a nice grain profile to the beer. Slight malt off taste at the end, but kinda also makes the beer enjoyable. Definitely a go to session beer.
2.7First few drinks had kind of a "skunked" beer taste. Got a little bit better as I drank more and complemented it with some yummy bread. Decent ABV. Slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Average at best. Won’t be drinking again. Penn Gold is better example of this style (as far as taste). Still trying to find a brew from Great Lakes Brewing that I like.
3.2Pours a deep gold with a thick white head and nice lacing. Heavy malt aroma with some sweetness. Taste follows nose. Seems thicker than it probably is. Not fond of the aftertaste.
3.7Bottle from Giant. Nice rich golden color, clear, initial foamy head fades to skin. Nice grainy, grassy aroma, hay. Taste even moreso, smooth, grains prevalent, slightly sweet, Beautiful malty flavors, a bit sticky, which coast the tongue and makes the flavors linger. Nice!
3.3Bottle. Orange gold in color poured with a white head that quickly dissipated. Very light malty aroma with caramel, honey and a little fruitiness in the flavor. Clean mouth feel.
2.5Bottle from Beers of the World. Aroma of hay with a bit of hop. It’s nice,
2.4Cereal grain smell, taste is cereal malt sweet but not quite too much, one dimensional, smooth, low carbonation, like cereal water really...in Syracuse for 15th high school reunion
