3.5 Bottle at home, all alone. Big fluffy white head, lots of sediment floating around. Aroma is banana and bubble gum. Light bodied, creamy, lots of coriander and vague spice, bready, Belgian yeast, crisp finish. Pretty decent American Wit.
2.2 After having enjoyed Full Pint’s White Lightning, I had looked forward to my next Witbier. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this one. Spices overwhelm the taste. No sweetness, no fruitiness, only spicy. Fairly weak ABV too.
3.2 12oz bottle from Kroger (Barracks Rd., Charlottesville, VA). Aromas of banana, herbaceous, chamomile. Hazy pale straw with a fairly lasting white head. Mostly dry, yeasty, subtle banana, green. Light-medium bodied.
3.4 Hazy yellow pour with a bright, white head. The aroma has herbal hops and wheat. It has a light body with lively carbonation. The taste is mildly bitter with a dry finish.
3.1 Pours a cloudy yellow. Aromas of citrus and spice. Flavor wasn’t too Wit, White beers aren’t high on my list. But this one wasn’t that bad, had a little more of a crisp spicy bite to it.
3.4 A very pleasant white ale. Nice spicy aroma and taste. Smooth slightly cloudy, finishes sweet
3.5 Good white ale. Nice spiced aroma. Good clean finish. Definite winner.
3.6 12 oz bottle from a variety pack. Pours hazy golden with long lasting white head, nice lacing and lively carbonation. Aroma is of funky yeast, wheat malt and spices. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Yeast, wheat malt, spices some citrus and herbal hops fill the mouth. Finish is long and semi-sweet. Good, refreshing brew.
3.1 12oz bottle found in the dark corners of my beer fridge! Bottle from dmac I think? Pours a hazy pale yellow with a thick creamy white head. Tons of floaties. Aroma of lemon pledge, yeast, wheat, white pepper, and licorice?? Taste of banana, wheat, lemon, yeast, hints of corriander, and wtf licorice again.
3.3 12oz bottle 7/4/15 (Binny’s Naperville Clearance Cart)-40° in Tumbler-Pours a murky orange with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, grass, coriander, and spices. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew is well balanced and fits the bill on a warm 4th of July.
3.5 pours out a moderately cloudy golden color with a small white head. Aroma is of some light spices, wheat malt, straw, light cereal and some mild light floral notes. Taste is solid, refreshing and not overdone on the coriander (thank God), some light floral notes, straw, hay, wheat malts, mild spices. Easy drinking and a good example of the style that is not donkey punched with coriander (looking at you Blue Moon)
2.2 12 oz bottle from Zach. Cloudy pale yellow, creamy white head, thick sticky lace. Aroma is grainy and herbal, maybe some orange, but it was really overpowered by the tea like herbalness. Flavor was tea, orange, grain, herbal hops.
3.2 Appearance: cloudy orange gold, creamy white head. Aroma: general citrus and spice, herbal undertone. Taste: light orange, some cracked wheat, herbal and tea notes. Finish: lingering, creamy, a little sweet, with lasting herb garden. Notes: Decent wit, flavor and aroma wise. It was a tad too herbal though, and the palate was a little creamier than I like; I prefer my wits on the zingy side. Bottle as part of a summer sampler, purchased at some package store in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, the state with the worst beer laws in America.
3.8 aroma is interesting-excellent dry, woody, bready yeast and spice with florally chamomile definitely coming through and fitting in nicely. flavor is dry honey-like and a bit funky with some woody vegetation and spice - not overpowering - refined and dry, but flavorful. great palate smooth, dry and retaining good flavor--delicious!
3.7 Pours a bright golden color with a white head. Aromas of citrus and spice. Flavors the same very clean finish. Light palate. Overall nice refreshing ale.
3.4 4 oz pour on draft at Rustico Alexandria for the Great Lakes Tap Takeover. Hazy orange with off-white head. Aromas of malt, citrus fruit and peel. Tastes of malt, citrus, herbs. Light body with a dry finish.
3.1 Coriander nose with some shitty hay notes. Cloudy golden, full of fine floaties, thin head. Coriander, beany. Creamy finish, flavor not texture. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Not a super traditional wit, and at first I didn’t like it, but it’s actually fairly enjoyable.
3.1 Bottle pour. Different than the old recipe. More solid now, full bodied and not too fruity. Nice.
3.0 12oz bottle from Kroger. Murky orange gold pour with thin white head. Aroma of yeast, spice, banana. Tastes are sweet wheat, yeast, apple, lemon. Highly carbonated.
3.1 An unfiltered gold, thin head. Yeasty, citrus aromas. Bready, Belgian yeast, lemon, honey, wheat. A bit too sweet for my palate, but I can see why some people might love it.
3.3 Cloudy light gold pour from bottle. Lemon and some zesty spices. Pretty nice wit overall.
3.1 Pours a slightly hazy light gold. White head and lace. Good carbonation with bubble streams raising from the bottom of glass. Aroma of yeast, lemon, clove and spice. Taste is the same with a bit of sour in the finish.
3.1 Pours clear light golden. Spices, yeast, light, crisp. Good summer time beer. Overall okay ale.
3.5 12 ounce bottle. Pours a bright yellow gold with a small foamy white head. Some clingy lace. Yeasty, mineral malt nose has hints of lemon and coriander. Fresh citrus maltiness upfront, with a yeasty farmhouse character. Bready notes with citrus hops. True to the Belgian wit style, but with a bit more body.
4.1 12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 8/8/2015. Pours hazy bright golden straw color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that linger. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, banana, clove, coriander, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, banana, clove, coriander, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, banana, clove, coriander, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and robustness of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent witbier style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
3.0 Coriander is apparent throughout, nothing here to wow but solid flavor transition and drinkability keeps this beer goin down, not my favorite but far from the bottom
2.2 Nice aroma not a fan of the spices. The color is a light golden yellow slightly cloudy. Not a huge fan but it’s nice.
3.4 12oz bottle and on tap. Golden color with one finger head. Spice and yeast aroma. Clove and some lemon. I like this one.
3.5 Nice hazy golden color and a fair amount of head. Lots of spice in the aroma and taste, not overly impressive but still pretty good!
3.5 Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass and a mug. The head in the mug was at least a good finger and a half more than what was in the pint glass. Other than that, here’s the rest. The appearance was a fairly decent light hazy golden yellow color. The head faded at a nice pace and allowed a decent speckled sort of lacing gracing the sides of both glasses. The smell had a yeasty/slightly bready aroma rolling over top of some light lemon and banana. The taste starts off bready but leads to a fairly decent lighter citrus lemon flavor. The aftertaste was about the same and lead to a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and yet still had a good carbonation for a witbier - harsh but not overly done. Overall, I say this was a fairly easy drinking beer - good for a witbier and more than definitely to have in the Summers.
