4.4 Thank you Sebletitje. 750 ml. bottle sampled @ Sebletitje’s Farewell Tasting. Black, little tanned head. Nose is huge mocha, milk chocolate, very sweet, lactic sweet, mocha ice cream. Taste is mocha sugar, milk chocolate, chocolate syurp, lacto sweet, sugar mocha ice cream & vanilla, sweet milk chocolate part is wonderful, there is a low red grape, vaguely sour bit which takes it a bit down for me. Body is lactose, milk chocolate, sugar, mocha. Very lovely with a small minor point. Given the infection stories this might turn ugly with time.
3.6 Bottle shared @ tasting. Dark brown to black color. Quite alcoholic aroma. Taste malts, dark malt and chocolate - ish everything. Wut? Heavy!
3.4 Refrigerated 75 cl brown 2015 bottle poured into a glass. Black with small beige head. Aroma is oak & bourbon, medium/thick body, medium/light carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is oak, bourbon, chocolate, and roasted malt. Lots of barrel.
4.2 Tapped at the brewery. Pitch black color. Beige head. Epic aroma of cherries and red wine. Taste of chocolate, cherries, espresso, dark chocolate, red wine, cherries. Boozy. Medium body. Excellent !
3.8 750ml Feb 2015 bottle shared with brother, thanks for the share. Aroma: intense oak, vanilla with a hint of cherries and chocolate. Also kinda boozy. App: dark brown with small mocha head leaving great lacing. Taste and palate: full body, really creamy, finish is extremely dry with a subtle acidity and with a warning alcohol feeling. Overall: gotta love oaky beers as this is extremely oaky and dry. Great beer with this steak. Not too sure if drank alone it would be as good. Alcohol feels really strong and not a big fan of acidity in imperial stouts.
3.4 750ml bottle from Blue Dog. Poured a deep medium density, Tootsie Roll brown, with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma of bourbon, burnt toast, dark chocolate, burnt vanilla. Flavor of bad vanilla, dark fruit juice, bourbon, dark toast, bad dark chocolate and booze.
3.8 750ml c&c bottle shared by Dave. Pours black with a small creamy tan head. Aroma of bourbon, oak barrel, caramel, chocolate, earth, and hints of dark fruit. Taste mimics the nose, with tart Dark cherry notes in the finish.
4.2 2015 bottle from Stateline... Silva stout Cellar 3, batch 1. Popped the cork, huge bourbon nose. Monster khaki colored head with a black body. Lacing left on the snifter...Taste is roasted malts, light coffee note, bourbon makes its presence known in the aftertaste..., throw in some vanilla and oak...Classic barrel aged stout, but well balanced for a beer that sat in barrels for 18 months. Surprised since the nose was all bourbon. Body is silky smooth, easy drinker for a beer that is 10%. Overall great beer at a great moment.
3.9 Draft at the source on 7/2/2016. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coffee, toffee, and oak. Taste follows nose. Very nice.
3.9 Bottle. Pours black. Aroma and taste are roasted malts, licorice, bourbon, dark chocolate, and roasted malts.
4.5 On tap at brewpub. A black ale with a resilient beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, wood, caramel. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, wood, loads of vanilla, roasted hazelnut. Finish is wood, bourbon, liquor. Medium to full body, velvety and oily mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation. Little masterpiece of a beer, here.
3.9 Bottle 355ml. Pours black with medium beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is of caramel, molasses, fruits. Taste is of coffee, roasted malt, caramel. Palate: Full bodied, soft carbonation. Overall: Nice stuff.

3.8 Bottle shared at THT. Black with light brown head. Massive wood, vanilla, quite some bourbon, coffee, fudge, dried red fruits, ash, lots of roasted notes. Medium sweet with roasted bitter finish. Over medium bodied with slight dry feel.
3.8 75cl bottle shared at the May THT. medium tan head. Clear black pour. Lovely barrel notes. Very good
3.5 Pours a dark hrown with a brown rim on top that leaves some lacing. Nose is of chocolate, coconut, vanilla and soy sauce. Taste is also showing clear signs of age with a lot of roasted malt and more soy sauce. Medium-full body, medium carbonation and a pretty smooth mouthfeel. A bit hot. Good but slowly dieing.
3.8 Butelka. Aromat mocno karmelowy, lekko mleczny, przypomina krówkę. Troche czekolady. Smak dosyć wytrawny, lekko słodki i gorzki. W smaku lekka paloność, czekolada, kakao.
3.9 pours unclear dark brown with a small dark beige cap, reviving and leaving some lacing. rich and dense chocolate - nuttiness; bourbon maple candies, dark morello cherries - prunus cerasus; raisins, good wood bourbon integration, spices - liquorice. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; warming and bourbony-spicy finish. oldish. but very nice bourbon stout.
3.7 Bottle (12 oz). Shared by czar, gracias! Black with a medium brown head, good retention, leaving good lacing. Aroma is soft with roasted malts, vanilla, liquorice, raisins, hints of bourbon and berries. Taste is moderately sweet with roasted malts, vanilla, liquorice, raisins, hints of acidity, mild oak spiciness and hints of alcohol. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Silky finish. Liquorice finish. Lack a bit of body. Too much liquorice for my liking but otherwise a well executed barrel-aged RIS where the barrel isn’t overwhelming.
4.0 Big black beer. Nice aromas of bitter chocolate, coffee, and smoke/tobacco? Doesn’t seem like 10% alcohol. Big flavor chocolate/espresso with a nice bite.
3.9 2015 Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid black with with brown hew and tan foamy head that lingers. Aroma is dark chocolate cake batter., boozy alcohol, bourbon, black malt and burnt sugar. Tast is similar with s mild tart fruity cherry finish. I was expecting a bit more.
2.7 Catch up rating from Saturday’s RS bottle share. The rumors of infection were swirling, and indeed something seemed a little off here. At that price point, I would feel ripped off....
3.8 Had the Cellar 3 version. A very nice interesting bourbon barreled stout. Pours a velvety black with a tan head. Smells of vanilla, bourbon, macadamia nuts and cherries. Taste is light, not super thick, with vanilla and cherries and a finish of boozy bourbon. Had in the bottle.
3.7 Big bourbon character. Much coconut character.Still pretty drinkable. Fuller mouthfeel, thicker black appearance. Interesting and worth a try.
3.8 On tap black with a tan head. Aroma is roasty, vanilla and bourbon. Taste follows nose.
3.8 Bottle 75cl. Opaque dark brown with a frothy to minimal brown head. Sharp aromas of bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla, spices. Robust bodied with moderate to fizzy carbonation. Sweet and heavily bitter, with tremendous dark fruit and malt character, and a punishing bourbon finish. Blunt and heavy, very pleasant.
3.6 On Tap at taphouse, Boise Big boozy stout with some ripe cherries and earthy roasted flavors. Classic vanilla and wood aged notes as well.
3.9 Bomber... Aroma is booze and dark fruit. Appearance is black with a tan head. Taste is sweet, dark malt, and booze with hints of toffee and caramel. Palate is a medium mouthfeel. Overall, a really well done beer. Very nice barreled beer.
3.6 Draught @ CBC 2015. Pours viscous black with a small creamy dark mocha head that leaves some spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, milk chocolate, coconut milk, green chili and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is round, tiny viscous, slightly astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, butterscotch, vanilla fudge, charred buttery wood, dark roast coffee, milk chocolate, green chili and bourbon alcohol. A good stout with less than optimal barrel treatment. Tons of green chili and buttery woody vanillin.
