3.7 A: Dark with a medium tan head N: Soy sauce, dark chocolate, hard caramel T: Bitter upfront. Leafy green bitterness. Then some heat and paprika notes. Chocolate. Cherries. P: Full O: Great beer. The traditional and chili elements are both executed to perfection.
3.5 660ml bottle: Pours black with thin tan head. Slight chili notes with decent rotated notes. Bitterness is medium low with fantastic flavours of chilies. Very well balanced beer. Medium bodied, medium carbonation.
4.1 Aroma’s a fragrant blend of roast, peppers, dark malt. Flavor’s like nose, peppers come out a bit, zero heat, touch sweet, metallic. Good body and finish.
3.3 Draft appears dark as it should with a thin layer of head. Smell consists of molasses, and the palate has a smooth, full body. Tastes like liquid mole, Serrano chilies are not strongly present. All in all, a mild adventure of an imperial stout.
3.7 Aroma of dark chocolate and malt, pours a dark brown color with a lasting tan head with nice lacing. Taste of bakers chocolate with a hint of chili peppers, a full bodied mouth feel with a bitter chocolate finish.
3.6 Draft to taster at The Pint Room. Looks good; a translucent cola with ample foamy beige head. Smells and tastes of dark malt, chocolate, pepper spice, and mild roast with a medium full-bodied mouthfeel that’s warming from the serranos. Well-balanced and enjoyable. A full pour would be plenty though.
3.8 EBF Boston 2017. Une robe bine foncée presque noire. Un nez de chocolat, de mole, de piment fort. Une bouche bien charpentée avec des notes de chocolat, de café, de piment chili. La finale est longue et langoureuse mais pas piquante. Agréable.
3.6 Nice one, even not too much chili, only in aftertaste. Nice stout, liked it
3.6 Bottle EBF, 2/3/17. Dark black-to-mahogany body is of undetermined clarity with a light tan head atop showing moderate retention. BBQ notes rise up with lots of wood, red pepper and a smattering of earthy, fruity coffee behind it. Roastiness and dry ashiness on the very end, with only light interludes of fudge and no alcohol or flaw. The serranos are quick to emerge on the palate. The body is on the dry, medium-full side with lots of chocolate and coffee. It holds the heat pretty well, but this does get heavily spicy towards the finish which has light fudge, espresso and vanilla with more bbq-like smokiness that could be the interplay of pepper, coffee and roasted malt. Moderate carbonation, fairly engaging. Lots of pepper and espresso character lingering. Not too shabby, love the kick.
3.7 4/17/16. One of those weird new (at the time) Green Flash not quite bomber sized singles from Five Points. Little known fact: Dia De Los Serranos actually translates to "Day of the lost serrated knife." I guess that the Green Flash guys grilled steaks one night and couldn’t find a knife and had to just use their teeth. Raw style. Black pour with a nice tan head. Okay aroma, plain stout, a whiff of peppers, some coffee. Good flavor, chocolate, coffee, roasted malts hints of caramel, and a well balanced pepper kick that is nice at first and starts to build as you get through the bottle (but not too much for me). I’m glad they made steaks!
3.5 Draught at the brewery. Pours opaque black with a small, frothy tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is medium fresh peppers, heavy roast and chocolate malt with light earthy hops and prunes. Flavor is moderate roast and chocolate malt with fresh spicy peppers, prunes, light earthy hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.
3.6 Tap at Secret Sandwich Society. Very dark with dissipating tan head. A bit of earth with fresh vines. A bit pepper in the flavor.
3.7 Bottle aged 1 year in cellar. Deep dark black pour, light khaki colored head that clings to the edge of the glass. Aroma of chocolate and peppers, an enticing combination. Flavor is solid with some bittersweet chocolate notes, some biscotti sweetness, and Serrano chile pepper heat heat. Thick, chalky mouthfeel. Very enjoyable, even sitting outside in the heat.
4.0 660ml bottle shared at home. Pitch black with a small tan head. Medium to full body with low to moderate carbonation. Nice bitter and sweet tones. Hot peppers, chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, vanilla and brown sugar. Quality spicy imperial stout.
3.1 Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Roasted malts and vegetal pepper notes, relatively mild heat, faint chocolate, and lingering chili pepper. Not bad.
4.1 Bottle. Black body with lasting tan foam. Big smoked pepper, roasty, chocolate, coffee aromas. Rich, smooth mouthfeel. Nice mesh of fresh spicy hot chili peppers, smooth chocolate, coffee, roasty, pale malt flavors--lingering medium pepper burn to finish___great brew.
3.7 Thick black pour with a thin off white head which was quickly receding .... aroma of coffee, roasted malts, caramel malts, bakers cocoa and hot pepper ..... taste is a nice coffee, cocoa, molasses and roasted/caramel malt flavor upfront and then a quick transition to a hot peppery heat ..... the heat is well received not too overdone .... the finish is bitter and hot .... body is on the thin side .... a little slick and oily in the mouthfeel ... drinks much like a porter ....
3.9 Bottle. Moderate to heavy toasted cereal and dark chocolate for the malt, faint pine resin for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with vanilla and milk in the background. Head is small, light brown, with fair lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic, and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, creamy, with a soft to lively carbonation and a dry finish and slight peppery heat. Excellent Imperial Stout with some mouth warming capsicum that has you craving more.
3.6 Black pour under a foamy light tan head. Big roasty black malt nose with a pop of green poblano and Serrano peppers that’s not spicy but smooth and adds a kiss of complexity. Smooth toasty and earthy flavor that’s black malty, semisweet and roasty, with gentle poblano and anaheim pepper and just a kiss green, very low spice.
3.8 Backlog from Québec RB Gathering 2016. Dark reddish-brown with a small bubbly beige cap leaving little lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, chiles - not too vegetal -, cocoa powder and caramel notes. Taste is of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate with the chiles provinding a light but fun alcohol warming. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. A bit oily, but also a bit powdery mouthfeel. Roasty finish with a light pleasant alcohol warmth. A bit too much chocolate/cocoa powder for my liking but otherwise a well balanced chiles RIS where the peppery character is not all over the place. Good.

Taste is smooth, slightly roasty and sweetish with hints of coffee, syrup, chili and peppers. Finish is sweetish and roasty with hints of syrup, coffee and peppers. Okay, slightly spicy and sweetish stout.
3.9 650 ml bottle. Pours a pitch black colour with a beige foamy head. Aroma of rich dark roastiness, some green chili vegetable notes, pepper and grass. Flavour of rich roastiness, dark espresso, chocolate, green chili, pepper and mild bitterness. Medium bodied. Nice and spicy! Reminds me of their Black Tiger, which was super.
3.6 65 cl bottle @ Leppävaara. BBE 16.08.2016 Aroma has vegetable-like chili typical to coffee beers – but I guess this time it is real chili even though it feels very authentic. Flavour has jalopeno-like vegetables, some licorice, coffee and sweet maltiness. Not sure what to think about this one.
3.8 Bottle from BevMo! in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is earthy peppers, green peppers, some coffee. Taste is peppery, mild spicy peppers, coffee, ashiness. Mostly peppers with mild coffee and some raspy ashiness. Not as full bodied, complex, or chocolate-y as I was expecting.
3.4 Bottle from cons 2016-10-30 Göteborg AR: chocolate, chili flakes AP: black , stouty cream brown F: chilie, dark chocolate, coffee, - a bit to much chile,
