3.8 Bottle @ Grand Sierra Resort and Casino: Floral sweet hop aroma and flavor. Interesting because it has a barley wine finish.
3.7 Bottle from Bottle Baron. Hazy ruby body with a thick off-white head. Low carbonatio Good lacing. Aroma of toffee apple, strawberry syrup and boozy orange. Flavour of chocolate, caramel and red fruits. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Rich and hoppy.
4.4 amber, hazy, minimal head, medium sourness, medium body, creamy, thick feel, average carbonation, bitter,
3.8 Bottle from America on Tap Deep amber color with a decent head. Rich bready caramel malt with hints of chocolate. Plenty of pine and citrus to counter. Pretty good strong ale.
3.9 Seems more like a DIPA than a strong ale, but whatever. Very good citrus flavor with well balanced bitterness.
3.5 Bottle from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a deep amber with a medium sized off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Grassy nose with some sweet caramel malt and tropical fruit in there as well. Fairly well-balanced but edging toward bitter with a bitter finish. Lots of grass and tropical fruit on the finish. Not bad.
3.7 Bottle to glass, pours a deep amber with reddish tones and topped with a thick and creamy tan head. Citrus and floral hop aroma, lightly sweet. Taste is flavorful with sweet hops and moderate bitterness. A little bit of tropical fruit. Some faint malt in the background, but plenty of hop dominance. A nice IRA.
3.3 Bottle at Brewdog Södermalm. Reddish/amber with a white head. On the sweet side with malt, caramel, orange and some hops. The body was medium as was the bitterness. Some alcohol in the finish.
3.0 @ Brew Dog Södermalm 15-9-12: hyfsat doft. Smaken är fyllig med tydlig malt. Lite söt och kanske lite trött humle.
3.7 On tap at ChurchKey. Nice amber body with medium head. Nose is malty, caramel, alcy. Taste is floral, oranges, malts. Well balanced. Good finish.
4.3 Aroma is a sweet caramel with a floral hop background. Flavor is a very smooth malt sweetness with a rich creaminess. Finishes with bright floral hops.
3.7 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark copper with a tight off white almost khaki head that settles to a wispy soapy film and collar. Aroma is caramel sugar and spice mild bitterness. Taste is bitter herbal hops with spice and caramel malts and very mellow alcohol coming through the end. Palate is medium full gentle carbonation with a dry spice finish.
3.2 Draft… Pours clear and deeply copper with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. The hop-driven nose is musky, citrusy and a touch spicy. Medium bodied with a raspy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is bittersweet, featuring a medley of tropical and citrus fruits. Finishes crisp, lightly bitter and Mojave-dry.
4.2 Red ipa. Has a deep amber color. Malty red ipa with a bitter finish. As good of a red ipa I’ve had. 4 pack from Holmes.
3.8 355ml bottle, pours deep red amber, small off white head. Aroma is light medium malts, rye and caramel, pine and grapefruit, light roast. Medium bodied, oily texture. Medium sweet and sticky, long bitter finish. Carbonation is soft to flat.
3.7 Bottle 12fl.oz. [ As Green Flash Hop Head Red ]. ABV: 8.1%. Clear medium amber - red orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, grapefruit, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, orange, sweet malt, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140814]
3.7 Prominent citrus pine floral aroma in a deep copper pour. Nice hop forward balance with malty body and finish. Gives no hint of its strength - which could be a problem for such a tasty brew!
3.9 Pours a beautiful red. Aroma is citrus, hops, sweet berry? Not strong. Taste is balanced and smooth, very bitter but with some sticky sweetness. Great and dangerously drinkable for the abv. I may prefer the old formula but that could be nostalgia.
3.6 On tap. A beautiful red beer with a creamy white head that lingers into nice lacings. The aroma is floral and citrus with a nice malt support. The flavor is a bit malt forward with the hops close behind and a bitter finish that isn't overbearing. There are bites of caramel and citrus. There is a medium body to the palate.
3.8 Smells malty and mild with only a slight hop presence in the aroma. There are 3 different types of hops in here, but I am primarily getting the caramel malts. Beautiful ruby color with an off white sticky head of foam. The taste is a lot more hoppy than the aroma, bordering on bitter. The description fits the flavor of the beer perfectly - it really is a complete mix of a red ale and an IPA. Good palate, very well done overall.
3.2 Pours a deep mahogany red with faint white head. Hops and hints of caramel malt on the nose. Flavor is very hop forward not too balanced out with anything else. Decent.
4.3 I had some issues when originally posting this. It didn’t go through. I’ll just do a summary. Right from the open bottle, the hops were very strong. Poured a nice ruby color. Very nice head. Good retention. Aroma was very high in hops. Taste was hop bitter. There was a touch of malt sweetness, but not a lot. Mostly bitter, but clean. Mouthfeel wasn’t very heavy. Body wasn’t very heavy. Alcohol taste was low. Despite the ABV, I consider it drinkable. Overall, it was phenomenal. An excellent IPA. Very hoppy, and flavorful. Must try!
3.9 Growler from the Malt Shoppe. Reddish copper pour with an off-yellow head leaving some spotty lace. Nose is huge grassy toffee. Later some dark fruits and some grapefruit show through. Taste is of sweet fruits, sprucy pine, chewy resin, toffee and citrusy fruits. Quite bitter and chewy. Medium bodied with some alcohol presence. Finishes grassy bitter with some sweetness. A flashback to older style Green Flash stuff - heavily bitter. Tasty, and few are ever this grassy any longer. 14.7
3.7 Bottle from MSM. Pours a dark reddish hue. Thin white head. Scent is caramel, hops, tobacco. Taste is malty, hoppy. Pretty good.
3.8 Bottled. Pours hazy deep orangy golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, grassy and herbal notes. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. An excellent Ale.🌟🌟🌟🌟
3.7 12 oz. bottle pours a deep reddish brown with moderate lasting off-white head and a bit of lacing. Aroma is full of caramel and bready malts with some dark fruits and a touch of citrus hops. Taste is slightly sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Body is medium to full with a sticky mouthfeel and subdued carbonation. I was looking for something different and strong, and this one fit the bill perfectly.
3.7 (Green Flash Hop Head Red (2014-)) Bottle 355 ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 8.1% Red to amber colour on the body, clear, with a good sized and thick, off-white head sitting on top, with very good retention. Aroma of orange peel, caramel, tangerine, biscuit. Taste follows, caramel malts, orange peel, orange zest, biscuit, alcohol. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice.
3.5 Bottle. Pours a clear reddish pale amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity citrus hoppy piney aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter piney citrus flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter caramel finish.
3.3 Yea, so this is your textbook west coast American strong (not that there is anything wrong with that) - heavy malt nose of raisin, cherry, dark bread, with the undercurrent of strong American hoppiness - taste is similar - some dark bread and mild dark fruit, but mostly resinous, citric, and slightly garlicky hops - for what it is, it’s alright.
3.4 Pours luscious translucent dark honey-golden with a very thick buff head. Aroma is not strong, but tempts with woody hop and malty tones. Flavor has stronger hoppy and woody notes, more wood and bitter evergreen, plus citrus and caramel hints. Mouthfeel has decent body and good fizz. Get your head a-hoppin’.
