Green Flash Hop Odyssey 30th Street Pale Ale

Green Flash Hop Odyssey 30th Street Pale Ale

Hop-forward and San Diego inspired, this is our brewers’ homage to their local craft beer corridor. Uniquely floral and fruity notes from Warrior, Cascade and El Dorado hops mingle with a hint of crystal malt to build flavors of melon and a lingering grassy bitterness. Well-bittered and dry-hopped, 30th Street is a Pale Ale bold enough to suit the palates of hop heads in the land of sunshine and IPA.

3.8 Small bottle from Bottle Jockey in Burnaby. A nice orange amber colored beer with moderate almost white head. The nose is indistinct, most likely due to the fact that I neglected the nose until emptying the glass. Har! A lovely pale ale with a hopiness that would match some IPAs. Nicely balanced with malt in the background. Slightly bitter aftertaste. 3.9

4.0 The aroma is a mix of pine and subtle sweet fruitiness. Clear deep bronze body topped with strong off-white head. Light roasted sweet malt balanced with a mild bitterness. This makes it a smooth drinker. It has a touch of the west coast pine hop taste.
2.9 35cl bottle. best before 03/2016 and drunk in 02/2016, so not that fresh. Aroma is pure stinking wet dog! Awful. Overall it is a dry and quite bitter blond ale. Hops aroma might have fade away. I’d rather taste a fresh one.
3.4 Unclear, amber colored, small+ off white head, not lasting. Aroma is of caramel malt, orange hard candy, floral, citrus and fruits. Taste is medium sweet caramel malt, fruity and grassy, citrusy medium hoppiness, some orange hardcandy notes, medium to strong bitterness, dry finish, lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, resiny. Bitterness is still on the level but hoppiness is dying in this bottle. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

3.8 Rating #1596 - 27.03.2015 - 12oz bottle from Palm Liquor. Dark amber pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is sweet citrus, lemon, and orange. Taste is a blast of citrusy sweetness, tempered by an explosion of hoppy bitterness, drying out the finish, but leaving the palate demanding another sip. Balanced, and extremely drinkable.
