4.3Location: 22 oz bottle from Nikki’s Liquors, 4/2/15
Aroma: The nose is fairly heavy pine/resin, tropical hops as well, basically just a big, hoppy aroma
Appearance: An unclear lighter orange color with a frothy white head and fairly coating, spotty lace
Flavor: The taste has is pretty heavily bitter, not balanced at all, but with a really nice hop flavor
Palate: The body is medium, with a fairly smooth feel, soft carbonation, and a long, dry finish
Overall Impression:
This beer really does nail the West Coast IPA stereotypes. Big, resiny, dry, and quite good. It isn’t a perfect beer, but it is right on style, and damn enjoyable.
3.8I smell lime, pine & honey, fllavor is lemon & peel, malt syrup, and oak--bitter close to the edge but not over it. the body is perfect, with just a little heft. hoppy finish. looks fine. could drink a couple of these
3.2Misty honey gold. Lacey bone-colored head. Coldwater aroma, with some sulphur . Tasty, with lots of rambunctious hops. A few off notes towards the end. Good residual bitterness in the aftertaste. OK, didn’t love. On tap, Baby Proof.
3.6From a bomber. Aroma is bready malt, some grassiness. Murky light-amber color with a medium head. Citrus rinds bitterness is up front, with some pine resin and the malt is in the background just a little too much. Could have a bit stronger malty sweetness to it. Palate is a bit heavier than most IPAs, with a juicy "chewiness" to it, which is quite pleasant; that aspect saves it from being a mostly-good IPA and makes it a really good IPA.
4.3Draft at butcher and the boar. Excellent hoppy aroma. Slightly hazy Amber with excellent white lace. Wonderfully balanced IPA. I like it better than the other hop odyssey I've had
3.5Cider orange pour, white foamy head. Citrus aroma, flavor of citrus, caramel and grass. Quite nice.
4.122 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/4/2015. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, herbal, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, herbal, floral, grass, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and resinous sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and light-moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
3.4[2/16/15] Draught at Cameron’s Inn in Half Moon Bay. Clear deep golden. “Green” hops aroma, kinda dank and leafy. Hoppy flavor, “green”, with pretty strong bitterness and an alcoholic note. Medium-bodied.
3.6Pour on tap, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of pine, grass, some herbal notes into a bit of yeast, slight biscuit, bread in there as well with a hint of citrus. Taste was mix of biscuit, bread, slight citrus, pine, herbal notes into a bit of slight floral notes, finishing fairly bitter, slightly dry.
3.716oz tap into pint glass. Minneapolis.
Pours hazy copper color. Small offwhite head.
Aroma is citrus, a little bit of resin.
Taste is mostly bitter throughout. Subtle sweetness to balance.
Body is medium. A little sharpness to the carbonation. Longer bitter finish.
Pretty decent ipa. Not extraordinary, but solid.
3.6Dry hopped aroma and taste. Light bodied but hoppy-delicious! Golden in color with a white head.
3.6Soft and slightly cloudy orange pour with one finger of off white head. Nose is juicy with citrus rind and pine resin at the forefront. Aggressive hop note in the flavor with lots of citrus rind on the finish. Some fruit and resin. Medium light bodied with a gripping bitterness.

3.9Slightly cloudy Amber color. Fine blend of hop bitterness and malt sweetness. 22 ounce bomber. 2015 version.
3.7Hazy golden orange, medium-thin head. Strong, bitter crisp hops aroma with some dried apricot character. Taste is dry, fruity with sweet apple and syrup notes. Long bitter finish.
3.9Pours clear gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Caramel and tropical fruit aromas. Sweet caramel and bready upfront turning to bitter earth and pith in the lasting finish.
3.8Pours clear copper with a medium beige head, very fine lacing, good retention. Aromas of pine resin, grapefruit, tropical fruit, biscuit, caramel. Medium light body, smooth and creamy. Medium-light sweetness
, fairly strong lingering bitter finish. Very enjoyable hop blend with just enough malt to emphasize the bitterness.
3.7On tapat Brass Tap with Audrie at Coral Springs, pours a golden yellowish pour with a small head. Nose is pleasant sweet citrus . Taste is bitter sweet citrus with hard pine and resin. Finish is bitter, and ends on the Sam adding notes . Quaff Score 7 / 10
3.722 oz bottle pours a nice orange color with a nice white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, sweet malt. Medium bodied, nicely balanced, very nice.
3.6this is a nice, surprisingly balanced ipa. I am not seeing "hop extravaganza". Light to moderate citrus, spice, light pine and moderate malt. Earthy even. Not bad for most, but I expect a LOT out of GF’s hoppy brews.
4.0On tap at Brunzies. Nice spicy hop aroma, pine, resin, apricot. Golden amber clear with lacing foamy head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts moderately sweet, caramel and biscuit. Big hop flavor, resin and ozone. Big bitter presence from start to finish, with lingering bitter finish and after.
3.9solid blended IPA ofmany hopps. strong hoppy flavor with a light maltbackbone. the bitterness really dominates this brew. smells super hoppy and pours copper with a thin tan head. had out of a bomber at home.
3.9Draft on tap at Flying Saucer KC (Kansas City, MO). Pours a decent hazed amber orange hue, a bit darker with a gentle fall leaves underfoot glow. Bigger cakey offwhite head atop stays larger and lively. A good layer sticks around and laces well enough. Aromas show a hop driven appeal, bigger citric hops are grapefruit and lemon, a kiss of gumball and tropical fruit. Gentle bread, firmer florals and some earthiness. Grass, gentle grain and dry straw. The hop element takes on some more potency as it settles more. Initial is lighter end of the fold, potent hop bitterness is soapy and bitter, firm fllorals and citric pithy jabs run the palate over. Some firmer florals, a bit of earth, gentle bready malts. The malt bill shows a touch of depth but never once gets sweet or all that noticeable. An appealing prickly bitter hop character sustains throughout, a bit powdery, certainly floral with citric rind, grapefruit and pithy fruit dancing in and out. Fresh, potent, but not a pushover in body. This one avoids the downfalls of a counter malt character, reamining centrally about the hops without beating you over the head about it. Powdery, dry, bitter. A nice fresh offering here that I’d drink with some regularity. While the nose doesn’t offer a big pop, the beer definitely delivers the goods.
3.9Bomber shared with Eric from Antioch Fine Wine. Light orange pour, white head. Tropical fruit, some grapefruit. Nice, smoother than most super bitter green flash stuff. 14.7
4.0Tap at Rattle & Hum, New York. Colour is cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Fruits, pine, resin, grape, massive hops and malts. Very fresh and enjoyable. Superb.
3.8From tap at University of Beer in Davis, Ca, well balanced, slightly bitter, thin lasting head.
4.3Pours a hazy orange. Large bubbles form the long lasting head. Smells amazing! Very piney and resiny. Hints of orange and apricot. Taste of pine hits first followed by grapefruit. Very resiny and slightly grassy. Very hop forward with a hint of graham cracker. Nice crisp dry finish. Very good IPA.
3.7On tap @ Green Flash, San Diego - CA. Color: clear golden blond beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: nice grassy and fruity nose with peach and litchi. Taste: nice hoppy taste, fruity and grassy. Really nice beer. Aftertaste: high wet bitterness.
3.8650ml bottle. Light golden pour. Tropical hops, light and sweet malt but then a blast of bitter hops. Typical west-coast.
3.5Draft at The Mansion. Light orange/gold, bright, hoppy aroma with a good deal of citrusy hops in the flavor. Alcohol well hidden. Very drinkable.
