Green Flash West Coast IPA (European Edition)

Green Flash West Coast IPA (European Edition)

This beer is brewed both at Green Flash in the US as well as at St-Feuillien in Belgium. This Belgian edition is bottle conditioned and European malts are being used.

If you are drinking this one in the US, chances are you should be rating it here: http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/green-flash-west-coast-ipa-2014-/257984/

[I disagree that this entry should exist, as it is not marketed as European or new. It is simply the European contract brewed version -GT2]
[Which implies that you think that changing the malt in a beer, doesn’t change the taste - JPP]

3.3 from Apothibières - light hazy red-orange beer, little foam left; aroma of resin and ripe fruits; a solid malt sweetness, full-bodied, thick and hugely bitter; harsh, residual sweetness; metallic and resiney finish; over-carbonated - low drinkability
2.7 33cl bottle purchased @ Casino.
3.0 March 2017 - Keg at Le Trappiste, Bruges as ’Brasserie St-Feuillien West Coast IPA’, 8.1%. No mention of Green Flash at all. Dark amber, still with a foamy white head which leaves dotted lacing. Aroma is bonbons, pink mice sweets, marmalade. Body is smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste has more pink mice sweets, chalky and powdery, powdered mint, boiled sweets and fruited bonbons. Too sweet and boozy. Not really what I think of as a West Coast IPA. More like an American strong ale or barley wine. Mind you, I didn’t like the American-brewed version of this beer much either. 2.6 33cl Flasche. Dunkeloranges Bier, heller fester Schaum. Kumquat, Gras, Karamel. Für mich leider nicht rund.
3.9 330 ml bottle. Aroma is dominated by pineapple. Bitter taste upfront with tropical fruit notes to balance it out. Dry herbal finish. Quite strongly carbonated. Very tasty.
3.4 Botella @Señor Lúpulo, Gijón. 13/02/17 BBD: 05/06/18. Color ámbar , sabor cítrico, amargo, cuerpo medio.
3.4 Gaivus ?velnus vaisinis aromatas. Tir?ta putel?. Intensyviai saldaus skonio su lengvu kart?lio poskoniu.
3.7 (tap 0,3l @ OP (Brno)) Aroma: Fruity, sweet, perfumy, malty sweet. Appearance: Hazy orange color. Medium white head. Taste: Medium sweet, medium bitter, tropical fruit hops. Palate: Medium-full body. Creamy texture. Long light bitter finish. Overall: Good, heavier.
3.8 Oranjekleurig bier met grote witte wandklevende schuimkraag. Geur: hoppig, harsachtig, fruitig.
3.7 Oikein kiva paketti.
4.2 Imperial IPA veramente squisita. Sentori biscottati, floreali e luppolati predominanti, nonché frutta tropicale. Amara ma neanche troppo, direi abbastanza equilibrata. Scivola che è un piacere.
3.5 Hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma is passionfruit, pine and grass. Taste is grapefruit, mango and hops.
2.6 Tap (Riga Craft Beer Festival 2016) Messy herbal saison aroma. Taste ditto. Grassy bittering, quite a messs. There’s a bit of booze too. Not a good quaff at all.
3.0 Bottle. Pours hazy, pale amber with large head. Aroma is malty with light to medium hops presence, mainly fruity and floral. In taste medium sweet, fruity and citrusy with solid bitterness. Medium body, medium to high carbonation.
3.7 Double IPA dans le style belge. De l’amertume tout en rondeur. De l’agrume autour de l’orange amer. Assez forte mais vraiment bien équilibré. Très agréable sur toute la dégustation.
3.6 On tap at RCBF 2016. Golden yellow, slightly orange colour. Medium white head. Sourness, pineapple, citrusses in the aroma. Nicely fruity smell in my nose. Tangerines and oranges at first. Bitterness in the middle. Slightly apricoty and grapefruity finish. Surprisingly good IPA.
3.9 1st August 2016 Euro Edition. Hazy gold - amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light malts, mildly sweet. Orange peel and tangerine marmalade. Mild hops spice. Nice light tropical fruits. Piney floralness. Smooth finish. Perhaps a little sweeter than the original but very nice.
3.8 Bottle. Clear amber color with tiny white head. Aroma - Hoppy, orange, peach, pine, malt. Taste - Bitter, light sweetness, mango, citrus, pine, caramel.
3.6 Similar to the American version. Full bodied pale color. Taste has a nice malt backbone followed by earthy piney hop. Very good.
3.3 330ml Flasche. Trüb und dunkelgolden. Kleine Schaumkrone. Intensive Citrusnoten. Sehr bitter. Trocken.
4.7 EIN WAHRHAFT HEISSES UND ÜBER JEDEN ZWEIFEL ERHABENES IIPA. Durch und durch amerikanisch. Malz & Hopfen gehen eine heilige Allianz ein. A BIG ONE!!!!!!! 0,5l Flasche getrunken im CAFE DE SPUYD Amsterdam. Ca.6 Euro. Der zweite Anlauf, ebenfalls aus der Flasche. 0,33/3,50€. BEYOND BEER HH.
3.7 Clear medium orange color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, fruity - floral, light citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, citrus, fruity, flowers, floral. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft
4.1 Bottle from appellation wines comely bank. Pours clear Amber. Nose of pine cones, resin, mango, orange, savoury carrotyness. Taste is balanced just right between sweet and bitter, fruit and burnt toffee. Lovely.
3.4 33cl bottle. Almost clear amber colour with a nice off-white head. Piny, resin and caramel in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium to light body. Taste is bitter with piny and caramel notes and a dry finish. Overall, a nice beer.
